Soar With Cri-Kits Gel Pens GIVEAWAY!!!

As you can see I am still working diligently on increasing my card supply! This pretty card was soooo much fun and I got to play with my wonderful Cri-Kit Gel pens again! Yeah, this is so easy and has become a must have in my crafting kit. I am really loving the Provocraft Summer in Paris cartridge but whoa those cuts are just to intricate for cards yet, that's what I want them for! So join me and let me show you just how easy my Cri-Kits pen set is to use.
First thing you want to do is have a design ready. I start with my base, in this case a card. I did my design 2 up on a 5x5 with rounded corners. I also did a 4.5x4.5 square to place on the card that I wanted as a top layer to my card. After you have that completed touch the little plus sign for an additional layer and place the items you want your Cricut to draw on . Your base card will show in gray. I had a 3rd layer that I used for clouds and the word soar to be cut using a different color. It's that simple.

This is one of the gel pens and the Cri-Kits holder, notice the magnets on the very top, well that's what holds the pen in the holder.

Just insert the pen in and the force of the magnet will just pull it into place and you will here a little click as the two come together. Now wasn't that easy!

Now just insert the pen holder into the blade assembly. Be sure to put a scrap paper under the pen so you don't accidentally right on your paper. Tighten the screw and you are good to go.

See there is my pen holder in action making those little balloons on my paper. Now when your Cricut stops writing DO NOT UNLOAD MAT CLICK ON RETURN TO DESIGN.

This is the button you want to touch. Then put the little scrap paper under your pen, remove the holder and put the blade back into the blade assemble. Next you will go to the layer with your cut. Push cut, adjust your blade and pressure for your paper and you are good to go.

After your design is printed and cut you can put your components together.

I took a close up of the large balloon as I changed pens for the darker color on my top layer. Notice I moved the blade housing when I did that and that is why the lines did not line up perfectly. In this instance it was OK because it looks like a shadow. This is a reminder to be careful you do not move it as you do not want your cuts to be off.

I inked the edges lightly as this wasn't an exact match and I wanted it to still look good but didn't want the white edges to show.
I fussy or fancy cut (whichever term you use) the balloon out as I thought I was using an outline/shadow cut but it wasn't and all it did was rip the other balloon as you saw in the second video.

I used the large glued dots on the first layer and the Stampin Up pop dots on the balloon.
Above is the completed card standing up. I like the dimension to it.
A straight on view of the finished card.
And a close-up so you can see the layering. I really like this card and will use it to encourage someone in the future. Here is the GIVE AWAY!!! Birthday Card And Gypsy Tips

Isn't this a beautiful card? I just love making window cards and they are soooo easy that once you learn how I am sure you will be making more and more of them. I have a couple of little Gypsy tips to share with you when you are making these cute little window cards so be sure to click on the video below.

Here is a photo of what my screen looks like with all the elements of my card on it. On the lower left you will see the base of the card and a flipped copy of that base. Lower center is just the sentiment area for the card and the rest of the items are the layers that get attached to the base after it is put together.
Look at these yummy papers. The bottom sheets are from My Minds Eye and the silver is actually left over pieces from a box I made 2 months ago.

The above video is preparing the card and getting the base of the card ready. Remember I have 2 whole pieces that need to be made into the base of the card, this video will show you how.
I always start by making sure I have all my pieces and they fit perfectly on the card. Then I assemble the layers and move on to finishing up the card. With this card you must get the base done before you can adhere anything to it.
I had to show you this paper it is so pretty look how it shimmers and glistens in the light. Don't you just love it?

And the final video finishes up the card and no alarm to drive you crazy at the end this time!!! Yeah I did a sneak peek at my next video for the next card and it is GOOD!!!! Yeah I knew if you would be patient with me I would get this figured out! But, this card does finish up nicely and really looks great. I purchased some envelopes today at Hobby Lobby that these 5x5" square will fit in perfectly
Look how nicely the heading looks on this card, and it shimmers too!

Then I carefully added the balance of the layers on and although the video shows I was able to just place the gems on, I ended up gluing them down with the Zip Dry to make them secure.

This is a close up of the inside of the card.
Well wasn't that easy? I sure hope you learned a new trick or two. This is a copy of today's Happy Birthday Gypsy File and Happy Birthday DS File so you can make one for someone special. Be sure to follow the instructions in the video and stock up on Birthday card for those special people in your life.

Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement. Your comments continue to inspire me and put a smile on my face!

She gave this as blog candy, not to one but surprising everyone that commented with this wonderful gift!! Can you believe? She was a busy camper making all these note cards and holders... she even asked us what our favorite color was. SO SWEET!
So the first thing I did was grab my camera so I could share my gift with you! Isn't this beautiful? Red is my favorite color and look how nice.
This is what it looks like when you untie the ribbon. It holds the cutest little monogrammed note cards complete with envelopes! So you know me when I like something I have to share, so I am already busy putting together some for Christmas gifts!!! Of course none will top this one but I sure will make them look pretty!
Here is what the note card looks like. I wish I could say I used them to write her a thank you card, instead I used one of my old cards... I have to admire a little while longer before I use!!! So THANK YOU - THANK YOU Kristy for this lovely gift, I think you can tell I really like it!

Easy Beach Layout

Doesn't this look fun? I used my Zoo Baloo and the new H2O for a fun little page. My favorite things on the beach are the sun and the water. This layout has plenty of both! I topped the waves with diamond white stickles that looked even better after they dried.

These are my paper choices; the sun was cut from My Minds Eye and the other colors were DCWV. I didn't use the silver glitter paperfor waves like I planned, as the blue had enough sheen to make it look like water.
The whole layout consisted of only 7 cuts, 2 photos, 1 blinking eye, some pop dots and stickles. It doesn't get much easier or faster.
I used my ATG on the base of the waves and lifted the tops to give the appearance of motion.
And pop dotted the photos so they could be in the wave and not look lumpy on it. I made sure that a couple of the wave tops went on the photo.
The little blow up raft is just too cute. I inked the edges and it seemed to give it more of a curved look.

See how cool it looks with the waves stickled.

And our finished page with our little Justin. Fifteen minutes top from begining to end to put together and stickle. I sure hope you enjoyed todays project.

Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement. Your comments continue to inspire me and lift my spirits.

Have a Blast

Hi!  I'm CherB from Cheryl's Window and I'm so excited to be visiting with you as a Guest Designer again at She's a Sassy Lady!

My project today is a birthday card that I made for my Dad.  My Dad loves dragons and Asian inspired art (as does my mom), so I knew I wanted to make something with the Pagoda cartridge.  I chose to cut that really great dragon.  From there, inspiration just took over.

I used my Gypsy to place the dragon, his shadow, and his layer on my virtual mat, arranging it so that I could cut these in different colored papers.  I also decided that I wanted him to be breathing fire, so with the help of my daughter, we were able to find some great swirls on Ashlyn's Alphabet.   We took these swirls and layered them together welding them and adjusting size and rotation until we had our visualized flame.   We cut the flame out of Ranger glossy cardstock.

I then ran the dragon through my Big Shot using Japanese Scales Cuttlebug embossing folder.   I was concerned how this would actually work on these detailed cuts, but it really worked well.   I then wanted to give our dragon a shimmer, so out came our Perfect Pearls in Forever Red, Forever Green, and Blue Smoke.  I lightly misted the dragon with a little water to give the pearls something to cling to and set to.  I then randomly brushed in and rubbed in the Perfect Pearls.

Here is a closer look so that you can see how well the embossing came out and how great the Perfect Pearls added to our dragon.

I took the flame cut from glossy cardstock and colored this using Ranger's Alcohol Ink markers.
It's then time to put it all together.  First, I layered all the Cricut cuts and glued them together.  I did add a little Ranger Black enamel to the talons and some bling for an eye.   The patterned paper is Basic Grey Scarlet Letter.   I added a path of pebbles aka buttons to the card base and popped up the dragon and flame with pop dots.   I added some metal rhinestones in the circle to balance the color and add some more pizzaz and provide a chance to play with the Irock.  :-)  Finally, I inked around the edges on the sides and bottom with Distress Black Soot.  This finished off the front of the card.

For the inside. I added another layer to my Gypsy file and created a basic shape with Gypsy Wanderings and sized it to fit as an inner layer on the inside of my card.   I then opened another layer /page in my Gypsy and using my shape as a template, I centered my sentiment using Ashlyn's Alphabet font.   The sentiment reads "Have a Blast".

I loaded metallic orange Cri-Kits pen in my Cricut and cut/wrote out my sentiment.
I swapped out the Cri-Kits pen and holder and put my blade back in.  Switched back to second layer/page on my Gypsy and CUT the inner card shape.

Again, I inked the edges with some more Black Soot and finished the inside of my card.

And gave it to my Daddy when we went to lunch!  Obviously, this is me and my Daddy.

Hope you enjoyed your visit today.  Thanks for stopping by She's A Sassy Lady today, and hope you come visit at Cheryl's Window to see some of my other projects.  I love making new friends.
