Flyers, Invatations and Tickets Are Easy To Make

Hello, I hope you are having a great day. Join me as I share.
I just love using my Explore for everything. Years ago I would use my computer and it just wouldn't give the same effect as a home made card. We have already been selling tickets and every lady is impressed with their ticket packet.

Now wasn't it easy to put these items together? We even used the tea set on the church bulletin board so everything coordinates.

We kept this as simple as possible as every card had the heading Tea Time on it and that took long enough to glue on.

The inside of the card boasted a little pocket that had the date and time on it to make it easy to remember. We filled each card with a tea bag and then when the women come to purchase we just put the number of tickets they purchase in the pocket.  It kind of makes you feel special even before you get to the party!
I hope you enjoyed today's post. Your sweet-sweet words of encouragement always inspire me to continue posting. Have a blessed day!

Design Space Learning To Alter Make It Now Projects

Hello, I hope you are having a great day. Join me today for a quick how to that you are sure to use a lot.
This is one of the Make Now projects on Design Space. As you can see it had a cut on the right side of the card and I wanted to type a little note on the inside and then send it out to my mother. Please watch the following video where it has an explanation of how to do this.

See how easy that is? This just really opens things up for all of us and I can see I will spend a lot less on sentiment stamps.

This is the simple inside. I had to get this card made quickly as I was leaving in 2 days to take my mom to Wisconsin so she could spend the summer with her sisters and all other family that is up north. I have to get going as I have to wash clothes and pack for the trip.
Thanks for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed this quick post. Your sweet-sweet words continue to encourage me and you comments inspire me to keep sharing with you. Have a blessed day.

Card Party Cards

Hi Everyone,

Lisa from Lisa's Craft Room here for another post this month. Thank you Sheila :) I went to my very first card party and I wanted to share the cards that I made. It was fun and I know that everyone does the parties different. At this party, the hostess made all the cards ahead of time, then gave us all the supplies, one at a time to make from her samples. I know Sheila has card parties and does them another way :)
We each got to make 5 cards, she also gave us the envelopes. Some people decorated them their way.
I think they are all very pretty cards and I would re-make them to give away.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon :)

Anna Griffin Mink Foil Storage And My First Card With It

Well I sure hope you enjoy this post I had so much fun playing in my Craft Room with my new toys; The Minc, Anna Griffin Paper, and my Anna Griffin Lace Folders and Dies. I really challenged my self working with these items and I have to tell you I had you tube running right in front of me to make sure I did everything right.

I hope you learned something by watching this. As you can see the Minc was as easy as can be and the rose gold foiling adds elegance to this card.

This is a close up of the foil project and you can see the great detail it allows, I love it and can't wait to do some of my own designs using my Explore and my copy machine. I am so excited that I own a laser printer!

The above you can see some of the pieces that I made by using the Anna Griffin Dies and they were so easy to do. I did learn using washi tape is the best thing to do when lining up the papers on my Sizzix.

Another close up enables you to see the details on this card.

This is the final picture showing you the detail. It amazing in person and I sure hope you enjoyed this post. I am always encouraged by your sweet-sweet comments, they continue you to inspire me.

6 Year Old Grandson Makes A Card For Mommy

I am excited to have my grandchildren staying with me. My little Gavin just loves being in my craft room and making cards. Today he wanted to make one for his Mommy to tell her how much he loves her,,, how cute is that? He is a little bulldozer with a sort heart. Be sure to watch the video below to see Gavin make this adorable card.

See how easy it was. You need to know Gavin choose the paper, the hearts and wanted love pinted on them, the layout and even the ribbon. Pretty talented for a 6 year old.

This is the front of the card I like how he mad the hearts into a flower.

Gavin used this cut I had for the inside so he could write his mommy a little note. I hope you enjoyed today's post. Be sure to leave big boy Gavin some blog loving!

Parisian Themed Gift and Stamped Gift Bag

Hey everyone...it's Sonya from Sonya's Paper Trail.  I've been saving up this post for a special day and today seems like a special day to me!

A few weeks ago, I received an invitation to a 50th birthday party for someone I used to work with.  She was a wonderful friend and mentor and I really hoped to make it to the party.  Our schedule is usually pretty packed this time of year, but we checked the date...and it was OPEN!  It was a sign that we just had to go to the party!

My friend visited Paris a couple of years ago and fell in love with the city.  Paris is very special to me, too.  I've had the pleasure of spending quite a bit of time there over the years, so I decided that I wanted to get her a gift that had a touch of Paris to it.  My local bead boutique does custom work, so I picked out some beads and let the owner do her magic.

This gorgeous necklace was the result:

Isn't it stunning?

The shop owner refers to them as "drops".  They can be interchangeable if you have other drops made.

I couldn't resist stamping her a tiny gift bag.  This is a muslin bag that I got from CTMH.  Stamps and ink work so well on them!

I added a matching tag and a tiny bit of twine and decided it was perfect.

The lovely hostess decided that she'd not tell anyone that my husband and I were going to attend.  It was so much fun to surprise everyone when we walked up to the door.  I hadn't seen some of my former coworkers for probably 5 years or more.  The party was wonderful, seeing friends from my past was very special, and being able to share in someone's milestone birthday was pretty  awesome, too.  I'm so glad we made the trip!   Oh, and she loved the necklace!!

Have a super day!

Welcome Baby

Good morning - Adrienne from Eagle Canyon Arts.  It's always a pleasure to be a part of Sheila's talented Sassy Lady design team.  Thank you, Sheila.

A baby's arrival is always special.  Here's a card for some friends of ours who are expecting.

Close To My Heart Supplies needed:

Blossom Papers (X7196B)
B is for Baby Stamp (D1561)
4 My Friend Stamp (retired)
Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge (Z1686)
Sweet Leaf (Z2153), Sunset (Z2191), and Sunflower (retired) inks

The stamp collection provides the cutting size (height) information to use on the "Welcome Baby" stamp.  It also tells where to look in the book for the shape, which is helpful.  I raised the cut out up using 3D squares.  Edges of sections were distressed with Sweet Leaf ink.
Inside, a cute rocking horse and sentiment.  This was a quick project even using the Cricut machine (I used my Gypsy, too!) to cut the front stamp frame.  Hope you enjoyed it!

Blessings,
Psalm 57:1 - 11

CUPCAKE SHOPPE BIRTHDAY CARD

Hello fellow crafters! Grace Baxter here, and I am happy to share my latest card design. I call this one my Cupcake Shoppe birthday card.

Cupcakes and birthdays naturally go together. But how about an entire Cupcake SHOPPE!

Cupcake Shoppe Birthday Card, collage by Grace Baxter

Rather than make a flat card front, I decided to add a sweet awning to the shoppe window.

I had in mind a particular striped paper for the awning. This one reminds me of the striped canvas sling lawn chairs my Dad used to enjoy. And this striped paper looks exactly like that style.

I might just have to make a few of these to have on hand. Once I figured out the best way to make the awning, the rest was easy!

Inside

For the inside verse, I used one of my own poems. This one is a general verse that works for either male or female recipients. (Click the top picture collage for details.)

Slicing Images in Design Space - My First Vinyl Project!

Hi, everyone, it's Charlotte C.  I finally decided to work with vinyl, starting small, and wanted to share some quick info with you about splitting not just letters with your Explore, but actual images.
This is a bit photo heavy, but please bear with me. A few things to keep in mind at the start:
1.     You need to have a single layer image.  So if the image you choose has a layer or layers, just delete them before you start.
2.     The latest update of DS has an “insert shape” button on the left panel where you can grab a square and then just unlock the lower left corner and create your rectangle.
3.     Use your arrow keys when moving the bottom of your split image so you keep everything aligned.  This becomes obvious later on.
4.     Turn on your grid.

First bring your single layer image and a rectangle on your canvas.
Size and place the rectangle where you want to split your image, highlight it and your image and click Weld.
Create another narrow rectangle and bring it centered on top of the rectangle you just welded, highlight everything and click Slice.  Slide the cut pieces away and delete the little pieces, but hang on to the rectangle.
Now bring that sliced rectangle on top of the bottom half of your image. line it up right to left, and pull it down to cover the entire bottom half.
Highlight everything and click Slice. Your image should look like this.  Then slide the rectangle away and delete it

Use your arrow keys to move the bottom half to make a space for the word or name you want to insert in there (about an inch apart).  Now highlight the whole image and click Attach.  You’ll see top and bottom move together as one.
Now create your text, highlight it and click Attach. Slide your text in the space you created; stretch it out to fit but don’t have it touching the top or bottom of the split. (I did notice my “h” was touching the top line and I did adjust that before cutting.)

It's time now to decide whether you want to cut the name the same color as the image or not.  If you want two different colors, you’re set, because when you hit Go, two mats will come up:  one color for the image, one color for the name.
If you want to cut everything the same color, highlight everything (or Select All) and click attach.  You can see the difference here.

I am so excited I was able to personalize my laptop with my first vinyl project.  Not a great picture (silver on silver), but here it is.

Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing you all next month.

Mother's Day Card and Box

Hello Everyone, Lisa from Lisa's Craft Room here posting my project for the month. I made a box and a card for my mom for mother's day. I put a little candle in the box. On the card, I used white card stock for the base of the card. I took another piece as a layer and used the butterfly thinlits from Stampin' Up and cut out the butterfly. I adhered that to the card. I used a glue stick on the cut out and added dazzling diamonds to give it shimmer. I then cut out two more butterflies, one with a piece of white card stock and one with patterned paper. I used glue dots on the white butterfly and adhered that down, then I used dimensionals on the patterned butterfly and attached that to the white one.
I cut out two labels with a punch, one white and one patterned, and layered them. I used dimensionals to pop it up. The sentiment is from Mom You Rock from Creative Time For Me. Finally, I added some rhinestones.

Isn't the dimension of the butterfly awesome? So pretty.

On the box, I used the same patterned paper. On the lid I used white card stock, the scallop punch from Stampin' Up was used to make a border. I adhered each section to the inside.

On the top, I stamped an image from Butterfly Basics, I cut out one butterfly in white and stamped the other butterfly, then cut it out and adhered it to the first one. I added some twine and rhinestones. The image is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, that was punched out with the word window punch. I just love how this set came out. That's my project for you. Thanks for stopping by and thanks again Sheila for having me.

Ladies Tea Party

Hello everyone!! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS to share my Ladies Tea Party decor! Thank you, Sheila, for another opportunity to share!!  Our church has a Ladies Tea every year and all the hostesses decorate their own tables however they choose. Of course, my Cricut Explore made this quite easy!! Here is a pic of my table all ready to go!

I made various flowers, including some 3-D ones to scatter around the table.

I thought the Kraft paper paired with the different colors of glitter paper would make a colorful statement that could easily be seen through my clear glass plates!

Each hostess also made the food for her guests so I made chicken salad sandwiches and orange tea cookies. The placemat under my tiered display is just a flower doily enlarged to fit nicely inside a 12x12 square of kraft paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to stop back often to see so much daily inspiration!!

Easy Peasy Scrapbooking LO with Design Space

Hi!  It's Christine from I am Cocoa's Mom sharing a layout with you today.  I have been inspired by Sheila (AKA Sassy Lady) to work on my scrapbooking again.  It is, as Sheila demonstrates, all about preserving those memories and that's what counts rather than fabulous pictures showcased by fabulous pages.  (Not that she doesn't do those too - check this page out!)

So, I started working on last year's Spring Break trip to the Oregon coast and 3 pages later, I discovered the joy and ease of scrapbooking with the ready made pages in Design Space.  Bingo!

As you can see, I started with a double page LO as my canvas and added the Happy Trails image from "Family Album" resized to fit the canvas.  Then I duplicated and mirrored the image and added it to the second page of the canvas.

The fun part was the adding and deleting images and making the basic LO work for the pictures that I wanted to add.

After syncing the colors, cutting and removing the pieces from the mats, it was soooo easy peasy to follow the Design Space screen and assemble my LO.  And yes, I did change things around a bit more before gluing!

Here's the first page

and the second.

When DH saw my pages he said,  "That was a great cache, wasn't it?  Took forever to find!"   And THAT'S the reaction I want for my pages.    I will be using "Family Album" for more LOs for inspiration and as the starting point for this scrapbooking novice.

If you've never tried geocaching, google it!   It's a great family activity, free, and fun!  Watch out for Muggles!

Thank you Sheila for inviting me to share on your blog today and for all the inspiring you do.   : ) Christine
