Felt Flowers

Hi! This is Gaby hoping you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Today I am sharing a little something I have been wanting to create for my grand daughters. Jasmine (almost nine years old) loves to wear headbands, and I have been seeing lots of cute headbands with felt flowers all over the Web, specially over at some Etsy shops and decided that I could create some headbands with felt flowers for her and Lauren (3 years old) to go with their Easter dresses this year.

I did not ask permission to post pictures but here is a link to an Etsy shop that offers some really pretty headbands using felt flowers-HERE-

And this is how I created mine....
First I tried a Spellbinders die and it did not work...
I proceeded to use a Sizzix die, and it work perfect.

Using the Sizzix die, I cut 5 (five) flowers.

Next I folded the flowers in quarters (these flowers became my petals).

I proceeded to stitch each "petal" at the bottom to close them up.

Here you can see the finished flower. I attached or stitched all petals together at the bottom using needle and thread. I am sure you can use a glue gun (I will try this method next time).

As a last step, I cut a small circle and attached (stitched) the flower to the headband.

And here is a picture of a flower cut using a stiffened felt which it works great, but it is a bit too stiff to look pretty in my opinion.

The better the quality of the felt, the best result you will get.

This is my niece modeling for me (she had to include one of the Valentine treats I created so she can take to her 30 classmates! :)

Hello Crafty Friends........

Sherri here from Sherri's Crafty Place and today is my day to post here at She's A Sassy Lady, and a few of our friends have asked for more Lay Outs.....so..........

I am posting a LO I made 2 years ago, unfortunately I wasn't sure I was even going to be able to post, I have had a very sad week........

a week ago today I lost my furbabie Brodie...it was just the saddest day, he was 13 and had been sick for only about a month, and we had to make the decision to put him down, it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do....he was the best dog, and just the love of my life, we rescued him when he was 2 from an abusive home, how anyone could have abused this beautiful creature I will never know, but I am so happy to have had him be part of our lives....

here is a picture of my Brodie, he is a Belgian Malinois, R.I.P. buddy, momma loves you......

oh but wait, it doesn't stop there
last Monday my dad ended up in the Hospital for 6 days,
he is very sick, he has Multiple Myeloma, he is doing well for now, he was diagnosed over 6 years ago... so everyday I have him here is a gift....
so needless to say, I have not felt very crafty this week.....
So instead I decided to share 2 scrapbook lay out's I did 2 years ago with you....

This LO I lifted from the Talent Christina from Creations With Christina,

it is hard to see in the pictures, (if you click on the pictures you can look at them larger and see the hearts)but on the top right hand side of the blue is 4 blue hearts cut from Plantin Schoolbook at 1 inch. I also double matted my pictures and brodie was cut out using jubilee

I did the same on the brown as I did on the blue and along the bottom of both sheets I cut out 7 more 1 inch hearts, again click on the photos so you can see the brown on brown, it is really pretty in person...and the ribbon is from my stash.....

here is a picture of the blue hearts on blue paper, 4 hearts are layered in the corner and then 3 along the bottom....( in the picture is my Brodies tongue, he had black spots on his tongue....I just loved his spots....it was so hard to get a picture of his mouth open...LOL

I loved to dress him up....he did not love it as much as I did......
but doesn't he look just too cute!!!! LOL

boy oh boy can you tell this LO is pre Cricut!!!!!......and one of my first ever scrapbook LO's...thank goodness for Provo Craft, my Expression has really improved my LO's, oh and a little tip Ladies, when I first started scrapping, I bought the cheaper adhesives.....I can tell not a great idea, unless 2 years later you want to re-do those LO's. All the LO's I did before my ATG all let go, I needed to re stick them all......wow what a job......so don't CHEAP out on the adhesives.....

Kid Friendly Valentine

Hi Everyone! This is Elizabeth from 217 Creations. I love crafting with my kids. Although I personally love crafting in a more complicated or detailed manner, I find it very enjoyable to break it all down to the basics and make simple cards with the boys. Today I am sharing this simple card with not only my readers but the readers at She's A Sassy Lady.

What makes this card so easy is the ability to have it put together quickly. I had all the paper pre-cut for a 4 by 4 card. My matting was cut to 3.75 by 3.75 and the patterned paper is cut at 3.5 by 3.5, This paper is from Jillibean Soup. The "LOVE" and it heart layers were cut at 2.50 inches with Cricut Home Accents (real size off). We pop dotted the heart. These were made for Alexander's teachers and para.

Make your own clear boxes and pillow boxes!

Hello, my crafty friends! This is Kimberly (My Craft Spot) and I am so excited that it is my turn to share some fun projects with you!

Scroll down to the bottom for a video showing how I made these boxes!

I cut this box and lid at at 6 inches from the Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge and then inked the edges of the lid with brown ink from Studio G. I tied Milk Chocolate crinkle ribbon around the box to hold the lid on. The polka dot paper is from My Minds Eye.

The "I love you" stamp is from the Always & Forever stamp set. I hand cut the tag and then tied the button on with Chocolate traditional bakers twine.

I have seen some of you emboss your clear acetate with cuttlebug embossing folders, so I thought I would give it a try. I love how the embossing looks!

I cut the pillow box at 5.25 inches from the Wrap it Up cartridge. The red tape from Provo craft works best with the acetate.

The stamped sentiments are from the Build a Valentine and Always & Forever stamp sets.

I used my crop-a-dile to put eyelets in this hand cut tag, then threaded Posy Trendy Twine through and tied it around the pink polka dot sleeve. The pink paper is from Pebbles.

Last Minute Valentine Cards & Weekly Challenge

Having Grandchildren is the bestest (their favorite word) thing in the world but it does come with responsibility to the title! I started making the children's cards a couple of years ago and now they love to see what Grandma made at each holiday and birthday. They know that it is just for them.... Well that is wonderful, unless you get into a time crunch and forget until the last minute!!! And that is just what happened! So hubby and I went for a Sunday drive and I am just so thankful that I had my Gypsy Woman with me because while he was driving I was busy designing away... love my Gypsy Woman! He kept saying just go to the store and buy a card, but I remember how they stop everything and show their cards that I make to everyone even before they open their gifts, so I felt it was important to make the cards. Thank goodness that 3 live in Alabama and the other 3 in Illinois, as I was able to make 6 cards from 3 designs just by cutting 2 up!

I used my A2 wide template on my Gypsy click HERE for the directions. In a matter of a half hour all 3 cards were designed complete with their little layers and 2 up. all I needed to do was go home pick out paper and cut!

Isn't it amazing how fast these little cards go together? I was so excited that some of my Copics were sitting next to me and I got to use them.

I used my Copic Markers for the first time on this project and didn't do to bad for a novice. I can hardly wait to get going with my class next week!

Paper Tape and the Imagine, too!

It is so good to be back with Sassy's blog! Surgeries are done until the summer and I'm beginning to feel human once again. Thank you everyone for your support and good wishes!

I have to admit, I'm a little slow. I have been hearing about Washi Tape for awhile, but did not jump on the wagon. My excuse: because I have to order everything. Recently, I was cruising on the net and found a tutorial on making your own Washi. I believe it is Jenny and you can find her tut here:

Well I never! There are some really cool tissue papers out there, making my tape was so much fun! I love the results! But, I had to put my own spin on this great technique. Enter the PC Imagine!

White tissue paper

Xyron 5" Creative Station
Xyron permanent or re-positional adhesive

PC Imagine

Imagine Cartridge of Choice

Scotch Invisible Tape
Blue painter's tape
Brayer

Cut your tissue paper into 4.5 x 10 1/2" strips.

Carefully run through the Xyron Creative Station.

Center between the marks.
Apply slight pressure with fingers as the paper feeds.

Brayer back of paper/Xyron

Trim sides evenly.

Remove clear plastic from front.
Adhere shiny side to mat. Position 1/4" from the edge of the mat (with the green arrow). Tape in position with Scotch tape at all corners and on leading edge of the mat. This allows the Imagine to read the PNC marks. As you can see, I used blue painter's tape along the entire lower edge.

At the Imagine:

Select the Basic Shape rectangle, ratio of 1:2. Set the actual size to 4.5.

Flood fill with pattern of choice.
Select; Settings : Print Only

Load mat into Imagine and print.

Remove from mat. Trim to desired width. I used 1/2" for this card, but if I were to do it again, I would trim the tape to 1/4".

Apply to your project! I found it was easier to peel the backing away as I applied it---fewer changes for the tape to adhere to itself.

LOVE Notes Container

Happy Thursday, everyone!! Java Jen here from Java Jen Creations to share a fun Valentine project! Thanks, Sheila, for another opportunity! I used the February Club Ruby Designers kit for all my paper and embellishments. Sometimes kits are a great way to bring a project together quickly. If you are not familiar with Club Ruby and would like to be, click HERE! Lots of great stuff going on over there! :-)

Here is my finished project:

Now for all the details:

I used an 18 oz. oatmeal container:

Cut a 6 5/8" x 12" piece of pink card stock

Wrap the pink paper around the container and adhere. There will be a small gap, but we'll be covering that up next.

Cut a 1.5" x 6.75" strip to adhere over the gap. This will be the front of your container.

On the opposite side of where the previous strip was adhered, cut another strip of the same paper, sized at 2.5"x6.75" and adhere it. I hope this pic shows how I positioned these 2 strips. It's kind of hard to show in one pic.

Cut a 3.25"x9" strip of another coordinating paper. Use a border punch on the edges before adhering.

Adhere around the container, centered on the front.

Thread some ribbon through holes made with border punch and tie a bow.

Adhere sticker letters to spell "LOVE NOTES" centered on front. I outlined them with a black gel pen to define them and added some stitching with a white gel pen.

Using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, I cut various shapes that coordinated with the "Mad About You" stamp set from CTMH. I put brads in the middle of 3 of the shapes.

Cut a 3.5" circle - (I used George and Basic Shapes) - to put on the lid.

Cut a 2" scalloped rectangle from Art Philosophy to mount on the matching chipboard shape from the CTMH bundle - stamp "Happy Valentine's Day and add 2 sticker gems. Mount on the lid.

Add some stitching with a black gel pen.

Add the embellishments around the container to finish it off!

Good morning! This is Beatriz from Amazing Grace Blog. It's my turn again to design for She's a Sassy Lady. Even though I recently got the Cricut Imagine, I'm waiting for my husband to learn it and then teach me. Until then, I'll keep using my Cricut Expression which I dearly love.

This layout was inspired by the Melissa Frances die cuts. I used the Cricut From My Kitchen cartridge for the word "kitchen", the Quarter Note cartridge for the word "diva", the Forever Young cartridge for the lady and the Nifty Fifties cartridge for her apron.

Valentine Scrapbook Page Using CCR

I am so excited to be with you here today both at The Bug Bytes and She's A Sassy Lady sharing my first CCR layout with you. I know to all you CCR (Cricut Craft Room) users you probably think that is silly but you need to know I am an avid Gypsy user. But I have a two fold reason to learn this first to be able to share with you and secondly (shhh) to be able to work at work! First let me thank my friend Pam for having me on The Bug Bytes as it is always an honor to be hear sharing my humble work with you all.

Now wasn't that easy... I love layouts that come together this fast and look nice too, don't you?

This is a photo of what my craft room screen looks like. As you can see it is a very simple layout and it is done with the FREE carts that are already loaded on the program. Click HERE if you would like a copy of this file.

This is a good example of how to work the craft room. It is very easy but does take a while to learn. I had a hard time with my camera and will need to figure out how to position it for future attempts to video. I hope it helps you learn.

Here is a closeup of my page and as you can see it is very simple, which is perfect for the black pages on this album.

I also added a light coat of stickles on the lips to make them shimmer even through the page protectors. I hope you like my project today and it give you the desire to work the Cricut Craft Room too. It is an easy program but like all new things it takes a little time to learn. I am please with my first page and will keep using CCR in the future at work. But I will not give up my Gypsy Woman!

All Because Two People Fell In Love

I am so happy that my mojo came back!!! January was a rough month for me. We made the decision not to go on our annual family vacation with my two brothers and their families. My brother has a work conflict. We have been going for 13 years and this year was going to be our last one. Not meant to be.

Then my Uncle passed away. He lives alone and was home by himself when he passed. His good friends went looking for him a few days later. Uncle Howie was the black sheep of our family ~ different from us. He lived by himself on the river. He had a simple life and as we went through his things it seemed to me that he had a great life. I never really felt that way when he was alive because I kept comparing him to his siblings.

My mom (his oldest sister) died 23 years ago next month. I was 20. It was awful and I was angry for a long time. She would have been an awesome grandma, but it was not meant to be..... I grieved for over 5 years before it seemed to get better. That scab was ripped open a bit when we went through Uncle Howie's photos and momentos. I put together a board for his memorial which was held Saturday at his favorite watering hole ~ perfect place if you ask me!

As I went through the photos, I came across one of a young couple and thought the man was my Uncle Mark (mom's other brother). It was my grandpa and grandma. They were sitting at a picnic table with a music box (their version of an ipod with speakers) and it looks like my grandma is playfully biting my grandpa's ear. Not at all how she acted when I was around!!! This got me thinking that if they had never met at the cafe where she worked as a waitress, I would not be here!!! And just like that my mojo came back and the scab started to heal once again!

I started with the photo and some paper.

I saw a card on Pinterest that had the word LOVE on a mini banner and liked that idea. I made a 2 Layer banner from Birthday Bash sized at 1.77 inches. I got the font for "all because" from Art Philosophy and sized the letters to .85 inches. I got the font for "two people fell in" from Nursery Rhyme and sized it to 1.15 inches. I got the font for "Love" from Calligraphy Collection and sized it to 1.35 inches.

I cut out the scalloped flag in burgundy patterned cardstock, the top flag layer and "all because" in gold metallic paper, and the rest in black cardstock.

I used this shape from Lacy Labels at 10.38 inches. I cut this out with sheet music paper that I found at Michaels. This shape can also be found on many other cartridges.

I cut out a lacy mat for my photo that I found on Sophie (my grandma's name) at 4 inches. The lace border is from Sophisticated. I welded two together and sized them to .88 inches. The swirls are from Heritage sized at .88.

Here is one of the mats with the cuts on it.

In order to make my title look straight and evenly spaced, I use the negative piece from my cuts as a template.

I adhere the letters and then slowly peel back the template ~ perfect every time!

Here is a close up of the burgundy patterned cardstock. I punched out three circles, crinkled and inked them up and created a flower.

I stuck a pearl to the center and used some black glittered chipboard flowers to accent it.

Here is my Love Banner all put together.

I curved the "all because" around the burgundy circle I added to the background.

Here is my completed layout of my Grandparents when they were young and first in love. I am grateful they were!! I am also grateful they jump started my mojo!!

Mini Bottle Holder and a Variation

Hi everyone, it's LaShavia from craftypinkbutterfly. I have a little secret for you today so please don't tell. I totally scraplifted this idea from workinscrappinmomof4 who got it from cabioscraftcorner but I thought I would share it with all of you here on Sassy's website. Okay know that I have given credit where credit is due I'll share my deign.
These would be great for any small bottles such as the large Stickles, Martha Stewart Glitter Glues, or mini ink pens you have in your crafting area and if you are giving someone one of those small of liquor bottles to someone special for Valentine's or any occcasion, this is the perfect size :).

Here's what you need for this project:
1-8" x 4 1/2 piece of cardstock and a
1-small oval punch
1- 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 pattern paper
2- 1 3/4 x 1 pattern paper
1- 4 1/2 x 1 1/4 pattern paper
1- piece or ribbon
Scoring Board
Scissors
Adhesive Tape
Adhesive
Corner Punch
and what ever you want to decorate the oval on front
(this projects is a great way to get rid of your scraps)

I chose not to use the circle and used an oval.

To start:
With the short edge across the top of the Scoring Board take the 8 x 4 1/2 inch paper and score at 1/4, 1 1/2, 3 and 4 1/4 inch.

Next:
Turn the paper 90 degrees and so the long end is at the top and score at 2 inch and 3 1/4 inch.

Then:
When all score lines are made you will cut away all the shaded areas.

It will look like this when you finish.

Now:
Take the corner punch and round the left and right corners of the long strip on the cardstock paper.

Now:
Cut slits in sides to look like this.

Then:
Take the 3 small pieces of paper and glue them to the front of the holder.

**NOTE** If using pattern paper apply paper upside down.

(Learned that the hard way)

Next:
Turn the cardstock paper over and glue the long piece of pattern paper to the cardstock
See Below:

Thet Nest Step is:
Apply your adhesive tape to the edges as shown below.

Lastly:
Once you have applied adhesive tape to the edges you can fold the pieces to put the holder together so that the pattern paper is on the outside.

And here is the completed holder.

Then you can decorate anyway you would like.

And here is a variation of the holder.

I put candy inside and folded down the top and made it into a treat holder, perfect for Valentine's Day.

2012 Scrapbook Intro Page & Weekly Challenge

I am so excited to start scrapping again! This is the introduction to my 2012 scrapbook. I used a black Creative Memories album that I had saved for years and love that look.... I feel like I have opened our heritage when I open this book with it's leather cover. The first page seems to set the stage... this book is bout Jim and I and focuses on our life and not our children. Yes they and our grandchildren are an intricate part but we are so much more that parents and grandparents. I love the romantic feel to the into page, don't you?

I want to thank all of you that have sent emails asking for layout pages. And I also have to thank Beatriz of Amazing Grace, Lori of Scrapin My Stress Away and Gaby of Gaby Creates for the awesome inspiration they are to me with their consistent sharing of their beautiful scrapbook pages. The whole reason I got my Cricut and Gypsy Woman was to make my scrapping easier. I couldn't believe that it has been months since I did some pages but I am going to try to do what Bea set her goals for 2 pages per month for her and hubby... I think that if very realistic and offers me the opportunity to make pages ahead of time and all I need to do is drop in the photos.

First I laid out the page on my Gypsy Woman, remembering to save each piece on a different page so I could do the separate color cuts. On the left you can see that I have welded the frame and the silhouette dancers together creating a base for my page. On the right I have the pieces laid out for a 2 color cut.

On the above photos you can see that all I did was copy and paste so that my layers would be in different colors.... so simple you just have to love it.

Just a quick little video showing how fast this page goes together. I doing a layout on the Gypsy or if you prefer Design Studio and Cricut Craft Room, because once you have the layout done all you do is cut and put together your pieces and you get a BEAUTIFUL PAGE! Love it!

Something So Sweet

This is Pam @ Papillon Digital Designs & The Bug Bytes - your designer today at She's a Sassylady .
I am so thankful to Sheila for not only giving me an opportunity to share here but for being such a great great friend!! Valentine day is approaching soon and many of us are in a rush to make gifts and cards. So I thought I would make it simple on myself and make quick gifts and cards. Last year I had gone to Target and got some mailboxes and decorated them. (The gypsy file is on my blog if you want to make one of those). This year when I went to pick more of them for myself and my friend - I found more cute things there - heart shaped plastic boxes. I also picked up some dollar items - ribbons, heart candy gems, foam sticker shapes and $1:00 paper pack and best of all heart shape doilies which seems to perfect for the box. And of course you gotta have candy!! So I got some jelly beans candy packets and M & M's. I also ( I think I am "also" too many times but..) had empty washed Bertolli pasta sauce glass bottle which I thought would make an ideal gift when decorated. Armed with all this plus some bling, twine and different kinds of adhesives I tackled the .. uhh delicately of course as the items are a bit fragile :)..
Now I have joined the copics class my friend Melissa is teaching and I wanted to start practising and get some digital stamps all ready for when the class begins. When I saw this stamp - http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/products/Cotton-Candy.html thanks to my friend Kymberlee of course I had to get it and use it.

Here's my project

Very very quick to assemble. The card is also a quick card with base as an ivory card and envelope from Micheal's or Hobby Lobby and the rest of elements from my target supplies.

Printing and cutting designs like my own, Dover or digital stamps like these- is why I love my silhouette. I use SD for print and cut of standard paper. I cut the stamp with height of 2 1/4 inches as I did not want it to be taller than the bottle. And boy! is that tiny for me to color after coloring up 15" x 22 " watercolor paper!!! Small real estate I tell you!! But I am enjoying coloring nevertheless. Makes me feel like a miniature painter!! :)

The Kids Corner - Making A School Project

Good morning, this is my Granddaughter, Brianna and she is showing her school project that she made using the Cricut. I am so excited that my daughter is encouraging the children to be creative and used the tools at hand. She has the Personal Cricut and it is perfect for so many thing. Brianna was to color and decorate this little mitten for school and put her name on it.

Brianna started by coloring her mitten.

She typed her name on the computer and printed it on color stock.

She paid attention to the detail and colored the trim also.

She cut her name to the right size using a trimmer.

She selected the little frogs from the Dress Up Paper Dolls Cart to decorate her mitten and cut the little frogs in various sizes.

She positioned them on the mitten where she wanted them.

And then adhered them to the mitten using Zip Dry glue as it bonds very well with crayons and doesn't leave any marks.

Now it was time to add her name.

She selected the banner from Stand and Salute and adhered her name to it.

It turned out cool, didn't it?

Then all she did was adhere it to her mitten.

Oops, gotta line it up.

Straighten it out.

Oh, look how cute.... Brianna you did a great job.

Valentine's Day Lollipop Treat Holder

Hi scrappers, this is Kate from Sassy and Scrappy. I have a quick and fun Valentine's Day treat idea for you. Recently I've seen a lot of wrappers/holders for lollipops and cake pops all over the place and with Valentine's Day quickly approaching I thought it would be fun to create one for my nephew's class. So, I started searching the Silhouette online store...I didn't find a wrapper specific for my lollipops, but I did find a shape I could work with.

Below is a picture of the shape right after I took it off the mat. I did all my sizing or re-sizing as it were, before I cut. The score lines are made by the Silhouette.

All I did to get the desired wrapper was cut off the portion at the top. About an inch below the top note edge is a score line, which made it easy for me to see where I needed to trim. My measurements were all based on the length and width below this score mark.

Next up I used the bottom of the wrapper as a stencil to round my corners. ***Please ignore my nails which are in desperate need of a manicure, lol.

I placed a small glue dot in the center of my wrapper.

The glue dot helps hold the lollipop in place until the wrapper is all tied up.

Next I punched a hole on either side of the lollipop stick to insert my twine, and hold the lollipop in place.

To finish I added some robot images I colored with my Copics.

Now, in case you aren't a "colorer" (yeah it's not a real word, but I'm going to use it anyway) or want an option that's quicker, here's another idea. This robot is from the Silhouette store and if you fill up your mat you can cut a bunch a one time, which is always a great idea when you have a large quantity of anything to make.

"Scratch It" cards!

I am honored to present today's project!

I bought this set of Etching papers several years ago. I wasn't sure what I would do with them but they looked like fun!

I discovered that "Engraving Art" is not just for kids! It is a recognized art form!

Mulit-colored paper is covered with a black coating that can be removed with sharp edges. Various tools are used to remove the coating to create pictures!

I began to develop an idea for using "Engraving Art" on my cards.

Using stamps, VersaMark "Watermark" and gold embossing powder, I stamped an image on the black surface.

Then heat embossed the gold powder to make it permanent.

Now, the fun begins. Using the tools, I removed the black coating within the lines on the stamped image. It is fun to see what colors are under the black coating!

Tip...the color goes all the way to the surface of the paper. The lighter you scrape, the more intense the color. The harder you scrape, the lighter the color!

The black coating will come off. I put my image in plastic before attaching it to the card base. This will prevent accidental removal of the black coating.

This is the card front in plastic before gluing to the card base. This is a Martha Stewart stamp. The printed paper is from DCWV "Trade Winds"

Tip...When using this technique, it is best to use stamps that have lots of open spaces. Notice, it is difficult to see the image in this card.

Again it is my turn to be Guest Designer at She's A Sassy Lady, Thanks Sheila :)

I have a couple of projects to share with you today, one being my Valentine's card co-created with my eldest Grandaughter Monique !! ( Sorry heavy in pictures )

This card was created using Paper Trimmings for the outer part of the card in CCR
I welded Accents5 shape sized at 5.222" to Accents5-S also sized at 5.222"
The Hugs and Kisses Heart was sized at 2.917" all layers combined, Hugs and Kisses were sized at 0.583"
( I did this in two stages, the first was print only with everything removed except the combined heart, the second stage was load everything except the combined heart, back to the mat to print and cut).

I added all this to a 5"x5" card base, then added "Happy Valentine's Day" sized at 2" with all the layers to the inside, using the Phrases cart,

On the back (Moniques' Design) I placed the "True Love" sized at 4.347" also using the Phrases cart.

My next project was the Valentine Heart, this was created using the Art Philosophy cart gluing 2 hearts together sized at 5", some ribbon wedged between the two hearts.
The Centre couple are from CCR exclusive cart "Valentine's Sweets" both layers sized at 3"

Finally I wanted to make the cute challenge card that Sheila made a few weeks ago, I wasn't able to do the challenge at the time, due to illness, so here is my card using the template that Sheila shared with us all

Using Your Scraps for Valentine's

With so many of us having an enormous amount of scrap papers/left overs, etc. I have been on a mission to not only use more of my stash, but to utilize the countless amount of scraps I have spread over 3 art bins! With that in mind, I found an idea via Pinterest that popped out at me. Its an easy way for me to use my smaller scraps and cut them into various sizes and place them on a card...best part is this is a simple project even your children, grandchildren or school children would enjoy to put together! It can use scraps for any occasion/theme, because we all know as paper crafters we have paper for every holiday, theme and occasion!

I chose to do a Valentine's themed card which my 9 year old daughter help me to create! We had fun making it to give a little something special to Grandma for Valentine's Day! We used pieces of scraps from last years Valentine's papers. We used some of my CMTH stamps and the Cricut Cartridge Love Struck 2010 for the hearts. Of course what would any Valentine's card be without a little sparkle so my DD chose to put Stickles around the trim of the hearts. To give the strips a little variation, we cut some with ribbon/flag end, some with decorative scissors.

Simple yet easy and fun project for all ages that will get you to use your scraps! Thank you so much for looking!

The Card Party Was A Blast! And A Challenge!

Well it is about 4 in the afternoon and my guests are due to arrive in just a couple of hours. So I got my dining room table ready by placing a sheet of plastic on it that I bought at Hobby Lobby to protect the table from glue. I then took some Stampin' Up sheets and covered them with a She's A Sassy Lady blog header to make it look pretty and to define each ladies work area.

At each place setting my guests found a little Creative Memories photo holder (I used to be a consultant) to place their finished cards in, my ATC, a little treat bag with chocolate, heart rhinestones and a ticket for a couple of door prizes that will given away later in the evening.

Here are the door prizes, 2 DCWV stacks and a Creative Memories Hexagon punch. And if Kristie were here from Craftin' On My Door she would be snatching up that tulle!

I started by placing Chocolates at the table but moved them into the kitchen with our snacks. Since the space was so limited we kept all drinks and food in the kitchen as to not take a chance of any ones cards getting spilled on. I should have taken a photo of the goodies.... so yummy. We had guacamole and chips, jalapeno jelly on Philadelphia cream cheese with crackers, chocolates and little cakes a delicious punch and even champagne! Um Um um we took many breaks for food!

Here is Charlotte of A Little Bit of Detail and Abby. Abby made here first card with us on her mother Anita's Expression.

Charlotte with her friend Linda.... They have been friends for years, and Linda just got her Cricut for Christmas... wait till you see her first card! Yikes!

Here is Anita on the left, my daughter Jennifer, and Jennifer a good friend of mine, I didn't have a photo of me taken as you already know what I look like.

Now wasn't that fun, you get to see everyone of the beautiful cards we made. I did take a quick shot of each on too for you to see.

This card was designed by Anita.... Sorry to say, I made my little owl body upside down! The inside says Thinking of you. Isn't this just adorable?

My friend Jennifer designed this little Kleenex box holder for each of us using George and Elegant Edges.

This is a 5x5 shape gate card I made using my Gypsy, George and Gypsy Wandering. The free file is under the Gypsy File tab.

This is another card I made on my Gypsy that the file is available too if you want, just look under the Gypsy tab.

Here is the inside of the card. As you can see it easily holds 2 tea bags in the little pocket. It is so easy to make you will love this card.

This adorable card was designed by Charlotte and is as cute as can be.

This is my little Igloo Penguin Shape card from Create a Critter cart. He is so handsome.

This is Abby's first card ever. I couldn't get over the intricate design. The inside says Valentine Day, but I am not sure which cart she used.

This is a gift card holder that I made using My Creative Time's Die cut and stamp set. Note I used the left over papers from Jennifer's card to make these.

This is my daughter Jennifer's card. She had the idea written down and I designed it on my Gypsy Woman using George, Gypsy Wanderings and the Mickey Font.

This is the inside of the card. It holds candy. She placed 2 bags of Sweethearts candy in it.

This is my friend Jennifer's card. Isn't it great. It says Sweet Wishes on the inside. And I made my card like this signed it and took it to my Mother's the next day for her birthday. Jennifer was kind enough to give me another!

This card just blows me away. It is Linda's card, her very first card. Can you stand it? Well it turns out she is an avid scrapbooker and had the help of her friend Charlotte to show her how to work her new Expression! Love this card and it took me forever to put it together. Everyone else whipped it right out and it too me a long time but I finally finished it. It is beautiful don't you think?

This last card is my favorite. I love all the texture and detail in this card. Charlotte used the Sweet Treat Lite cartridge, fibre, her Cuttlebug, twine and skittles too to make this awesome card. I really don't want to give it or any of the other cards away. That is a problem I have and that is why I usually make two of all my cards, one to give away and the other to admire! LOL

Well I sure hope you enjoyed learning about our little party. We had so much fun and I encourage you to try this with your friends too. I have cards that are so different from what I usually do and I am so thankful as I learned so much from each of the ladies that came, including our first time card makers. Fun Fun Fun is the only way I can sum up our time together. We did what we enjoy doing... Paper Crafts.

ATC mini album

Hi all,
Today I thought I'd share with you a mini album I made. I'm involved in a Round Robin atc swap. We each make a folder and an atc. We then send this onto the next person in the list. We make a atc for each of the folders we receive. Eventually I'll have this one back full of atc's made by the others in the round robin. I found this book here . This is where all of the scoring measurments are. It is made from one piece of 12 x 12 card. Very quick and easy to do.

Here's my sheet of paper. You can see on the left I've already folder over one pocket and I taped the other side ready to fold over. I took this so you could see how this step works. You then fold it up. I then cut holes along the spine of the album and threaded ribbon through to hold it together.

Here is the first two pages and the atc I made. I wanted my atc to match my album. I can't wait to see the other atc's.

Here it is in the first pocket. I hope you have a quick go at this mini album as you could put tickets or photos in the pockets instead of atc's. You could even store stamped images in the pockets. Thanks Sheila for having me today.

Kam's Crafty Place

Hey Ya'll,

Sassy Dude here from Cricut Couple! Well, today is a very important day for a few different reasons. For starters, today is my second day with projects using the adorable new Build a Valentine and Always and Forever stamps recently released by My Craft Spot. It's also Sassy Tutorial Day on She's a Sassy Lady. So... since the schedules crossed, I thought I would just lump it all together and share a simple thing that was lots of fun to create and that I am thrilled with the way it turned out. I made my own background paper using the Build a Valentine stamps!

This is the front of the card. I made the background paper. Very simple to do. The trim is cut in black using the Cricut and the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art Cartridge. The floating hearts were punched using a Martha Stewart Heart Punch. You could use your Cricut if you wanted to, but this was just very simple.

I used Twine from My Craft Spot and ran it from the top of the mat to behind each of the floating hearts. I added a little stickles to the edge of the hearts to make them stand out a little bit more.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside and added an extra piece of trim to finish it off.

This is the Build a Valentine set and the background paper. I simply took a 12x12 piece of white card stock and stamped the heck out of it. Hee! Hee! I picked 4 colors of ink. I used the solid heart stamp (larger) and stamped all over the page. I then picked one of the conversation heart stamps for each colored heart. I used black ink and then stamped over the hearts. I didn't want them to be totally perfect, I wanted them to be off a little bit. Perfectly imperfect. Hee! Hee!

Here is a closer shot so you can see how the paper turned out. This was so much fun to do and I will certainly be doing more of this.

For my second card, I had a lot of fun with this one too! This is also from the Build a Valentine set. I immediately had a frog in mind when I saw the "Looking for a Prince" stamp. The frog and crown are from Paisley, The circles are from CTMH Art Philosophy and the thought bubble is from Phrases.

I just popped all of the layers and added glossy accents to the eyes of the frog and on the hearts.

For the inside, I used three different stamps from the set to make the sentiment. So simple!

Quick Valentines Card

Hi everyone, Beth from thunderbirdlindybydesign, today I wanted to share with you a quick card I made using Victorian Romance, Sugar and Spice, and Martha Stewart Seasonal cartridges.

I started with pink cardstock that I cut 10x6 and then folded to make a card 6" wide x 5" tall. I then took Lost and Found paper and cut the scalloped rectangle sized to 5.5"x4.5" using Sugar and Spice. Using pink glitter paper, I cut the rosette part of the ribbon from Martha Stewart Seasonal sizing it to 3.75".

Finally, I used the new Victorian Romance cart, and chose the scallop hearts and sized 10 to approx 1.5" and cut them from another piece of Lost and Found paper. I took 5 and stacked together and sewed down the middle, and did the same with the other 5. The pic above shows a 3rd heart that I did not end up using in the card.

I had some Valentine themed die cuts that I got from K&Co last year and cut the cherubs legs off below the ribbon so she would fit on my card..

I layered everthing together, adding a heart shaped doily, and pop dotting the cherub on the scallop glitter cut. Added some ribbon, and fanned out the hearts.

I am going to share this super cute idea that my mom and I made many years ago. All you need to make this is 7 golf balls, a golf tee, felt, glue and some little embellishments, and you will have a really great gift for a guy or a pet lover, or a guaranteed sale at a craft fair.

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! Aymee Gandy of 'A Scraphappy Southernbelle' here with you on this chilly day to share a project I have created. As many of you know, I am the proud owner of one of the cutest Yorkshire Terriers you'll ever see (Tee Hee)....little Miss Katie Scarlett. She is like my child and is pampered like you wouldn't believe! Here she is...

Well, to celebrate my love of Yorkies and that love-filled holiday coming up...I decided to create a little notecard gift set. This gift set will be given to a friend of mine who also owns a Yorkie...a Yorkie who happens to be Katie Scarlett's boyfriend! His name is Peyton and he is the most beautiful Yorkie boy ever! So Katie Scarlett will be sending this little gift along with a card to him for Valentine's Day. You'll have to excuse my attempt at humor...LOL!

This gift baggie, which is a bitty bag from Kimberly over at My Craft Spot, holds 5 personalized notecards. I used some decorative edged scissors to cut the bitty bag down to the size I needed. I used some crinkle ribbon (also from MCS) to tie off the top. Here is the front of my project:

The 'key' is from the Gypsy Wanderings Cricut cartridge and the 'love' sentiment is from the Home Decor' Cricut cartridge. I used a mixture of alphabet stickers for the rest.

When you turn the project over, I have a cute little Yorkie that I created. I found this Yorkie online through a free clip art search. I then used Inkscape to make it into an SVG and Sure Cuts A Lot to cut it with my Cricut. Isn't it a cute little Yorkie?

I added a little rhinestone to the bow for a bit of glitz and glamour...just like my Katie Scarlett would wear! She is such a little diva!

There are 3 of these notecards in the bag. I used a 'P' alphabet sticker on each of the to stand for 'Peyton.'

There are 2 of this pattern in the bag.

I love these pre-printed notecards from My Mind's Eye. They brought some color and pattern to my project. I sure hope Peyton and his Mommy will enjoy these.

And to finish off today's post, I had to end with some more cuteness....Tee hee! This is Katie Scarlett striking a pose in her ruffle butt jammies!

Everyday Enchantment

Hey ya'll! It's Leah, from My Craft and Chat Cafe! Glad to be back here on Sheila's awesome blog with a simple card made from Stampin' Up! Everyday Enchantment designer series paper from the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog!

The card is a regular A2 size. I used SU Pool Party, Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade, and Very Vanilla cardstock. The flower stamp and the punch I used to to cut it out is from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini catalog. The stamp set is: Mixed Bunch and the punch is: Blossom. I used SU Poppy Parade classic ink for the flower and popped it up with Stampin' dimensionals. The ribbon is some I had in my stash, from Hobby Lobby, I think.
No cricut, but I hope you like my card anyway. I made this with my small group of ladies who meet every month. I'm posting their cards as well!

Good Morning...

I am so excited that I just need to share with you about a class that I have enrolled in. A Copic Class - Created from Color - that will teach me how to use my new Copics! I've been buying them here and there and can't wait to learn all of the things the class has to offer. But where to start? Did you know that there only certain types of ink you should stamp with when using Copics and that certain papers work better then others? This class will help me to understand the basic concepts like those mentioned and how to start coloring with Copic markers. Also, our very own Sassy designer, Melissa of Melissa Made will be co-teaching the class with the very talented Kristy Dalman - owner and artist of Some Odd Girl. Check out their work:

Be Mine Pocket Card

Don't you just love to make pretty things? Well that is what I think about today's card.... it is just pretty. Today we will be revisiting the pocket card and turning it into a Valentine card that will hold little bags of candy. You know you need to be creative with cards when you family lives so far away! This card was actually my daughter's idea. I just took her ideas and in a matter of a few minutes designed this cute little pocket card. She picked out the pattern paper and we used only a sheet. I wish I could tell you who it is from as it is so pretty, but I forgot to ask Jen. The glitter paper is from that $2.97 stack I purchased and she only used 1 sheet. The pink is Coordination's stock that was on sale 5 sheets for $1 at Joann's. So you see with a very little amount of cash you can produce these cards. The big expense was the candy, and that was little of nothing $2.99 for a bag and she only used half of that.

Now the first thing I did was go to the Tea Time card I made 2 weeks ago (HERE is the URL to that post if you want to see it again) and adjust my Gypsy file for the new card. You really need to follow along and do this on your own so that you get used to altering cards of your own or from files that you have downloaded from sites like mine. Note I will provide this Be Mine file at the bottom of this post.

This is how you put this card together.... so simple you will love it.

Wow, didn't you just love all the entries in last weeks challenge? We have so many talentd ladies and it was really nice getting all those birthday card ides. Well it is time to pick a winner. I used Random.org and came up with #12. This card was made by Luvy of Luvy's World. I hope you get a chance to go by her blog and check out all her projects. I have to admit I chuckled when it came back with that #12 as I think Luvy got it in about a half hour before Mr. Linky closed for this weeks challenge. Just goes to show you you never know. Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year. This is Lisa from Lisa's Craft Room. It is my turn for my monthly design.

I decided to make these adorable snow faces. They are made from a paper towel roll. I ran it through my cuttlebug to flatten it, then I cut three out of it.

Aren't they snow cute? :) I used sticky tape on the bottom to seal it so I could either use them for a decoration or put wrapped candy in them to give away.

So they went from this

I painted them white with acrylic paint.

I stamped that cute face with the bigger Peachy Keen Stamp - PKK-04, Open Eyes with Simple Smile. Don't you just love those faces.

I cut a piece of red snowflake cardstock and trimmed them to fit and adhered them on top and added a jute bow. I punched holes and added black wire. On the bottom, I added tulle and a gold bell with twine. If you notice, the tulle and twine match the nose. Who says snowmen/snowwomen have to have orange noses. LOL

Tutorial | Ribbon/Twine embellishment

Hi! this is Gaby from GabyCreates and today is my turn to share something here at She's A Sassy Lady!
As I was pondering on what to share today, several ideas came to mind such as sharing current and very popular trends in Scrap-booking and Card-making like "chevrons", "dove tail banners", or the color of the year "Tangerine Tango" ... I settled for a bit of most above mentioned trends and sharing how to make your own embellishment using remnants or newly cut out ribbon and twine.
After I had tried this technique successfully with twine, I came across Nichol Magouirk's blog were she had tried it with ribbon using a Sizzix die. So I set out to try the ribbon technique using a Spellbinders die. I must report I was successful and now I have to try using the deep cut blade on my cutting machine!

And here is the "How-to" create such an embellishment:

Step one: Decide on die shape and ribbon or twine to use.
Step two: Get a piece of cardstock or? a bit larger than your die (my die is a heart from Spellbinders but any metal die will do, i.e. such as Sizzix)

Step three: Trim a bit but not too much (you just don't want to waste too much adhesive or ribbon/twine.

Step four: Add strong adhesive to piece of trimmed cardstock.

Here a close up of the piece of cardstock completely covered with adhesive.

Below a picture of remnants or newly cut out ribbon

Step five: Start adhering your ribbon as desired.

Step Six: Place on cutting/embossing machine (I used a Big Shot by Sizzix).

This is how it comes out looking like after running it through back and forth 3 times.

Step Seven: Trim any left uncut areas (I could have run it through an additional couple of times, but I only had to trim a tiny bit in couple of places-the tiny polka dot ribbon was the stubborn one!).

And here you have the end product or your personally made embellishment. Imagine the possibilities with oh so many shapes and colors!

Here is a picture of a heart using the same technique, but with twine!

(I created this around two weeks ago, but will not post/share project until Monday).

The twine is a bit more tedious to work with than the ribbon because it is thin string - you have to have more patience with it.

And here is a simple but cute (if I might say so!) card that I created using the ribbon heart!

And here a tiny tutorial on how to create your own dove tail banners (which to me resemble chevrons!)

1-Decide on the width of your banner
2-Make a cut in the middle of your paper from bottom up a) you have the choice of making it as high as you want, the higher the longer your tails; b) Either measure the center of your paper or "guesstimate" (love this made up word!)
3-Make a cut from one bottom corner to the center/or top of your previous cut (diagonally)
4-Repeat on other side

As for the color of the year "Tangerine Tango", here is a sample (I don't have any on my craft room) and I am glad to report that they [Pantone] are coordinating it with green!!...and other colors of course.

A Valentines Day Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you all are well today. This is Sherri from Sherri's Crafty Place,

first I must thank Sheila for this amazing opportunity to share a project with you

For my project today, I decided to do a shape card, a Valentines Day card for my hubbie....

So using my Gypsy, I welded 2 images together, The image I used was the Shadow feature of the Bustier from Tie The Knot Cartridge.

I used all the layers for the bustier....

using all Stampin Up Paper this is the card and front layer of my card

the other 2 layers are white and black

here is my card standing on it's side....

I put my layers together, and added pop dots for a little dimension..

I used Diamond Stickles on the buttons and white area....LOVE me some Stickles....

I still thought it needed a little something else, so I brought out some Glossy Accents......

here is the glossy accents still wet, it takes a little bit to dry, but it adds a great effect to the card....

I love how it turned out.....

Yearly MIni Albums...

Hi everyone! This is Kristy from craftin-on-my-door and I want to thank Sheila for allowing my to be her guest designer again today! I look forward to my monthly She's a Sassy Lady posts!
This month I thought I would show you all the mini albums I made for Little Stinkerbella's grandparents, for Christmas. (I know that Christmas has come and gone, but these would also be great gradparent's day, father's or mother's day gifts!) I used my YourStory photo machine and a few 6 x 6 paper pads from My Mind's Eye.

I started by trimming all of my photos down to 5 x 3.75.

Then I trimmed the papers to 6 x 4 1/8.

Next, I typed up the months of the year using Microsoft Word and the Kwekel font.

I used a Stampin' Up label punch to "punch" out each month.

Then I glued down the pictures and the month to each page (I had to keep these simple since I was making 8!)

Here's what each page of the book looked like.

Here's the same pics on different paper.

I used a binder to clip to hold my pages together while in the machine.

Then, I lined up the letter stickers onto a ruler, and then placed the title onto the cover.

I added some tulle or ribbon and some twine, and of course the year. Here's are all the different mini albums.

Washi Tape Flower Tutorial

Hi ya everyone! This is Melissa from Melissa Made. Thanks Sheila for allowing me to share with everyone!
Today I want to share with you how I made this simple Valentine's Day Card. More specifically how I created these little flowers using Washi tape that I received from iCopic. Washi tape is extrememly cheap and comes in a huge range of colors. It can be used for a number of things but in this tutorial I show you how to make these small roses.

For those that don't like to watch videos you simply unroll over a foot or so of Washi tape and roll it and twist it long ways in your hands. Use a pair of tweezers and start rolling around the tweezers to form the spiral shown on the card. Once you are finished place a pearl in the center and then add a bit of glitter to make it sparkle. I also used my Cuttlebug to create the leaves using Spellbinders Shapebilities.

The sentiment is from Sassy Lady's designer very own, Kimberly from My Craft Spot. I hope enjoyed this simple tutorial. I look forward to hearing your lovely comments! For more fun projects stop by Melissa Made.

My Husband's Birthday Card & Weekly Challenge

Hi Crafting Friends :)

I hope everyone has a great Holiday !!!

I have been ill, so haven't been able to enjoy all the festivities of the Christmas / New Year :(

Not to worry, Today I want to share a card I have made for my Darling Husband, whose Birthday is on the 15th (just before our very own Bobby's from the Cricut Couple )

My husband is also my Carer (I'm disabled) and he does a terrific job of taking good care of me, he's my rock, my best friend, my sweetheart and I am so lucky to have him in my life.

So on to the card

This card was designed using CCR, Love struck 2010 and 3 Birds - Life's A Party cartridge's

Not your typical Man Card right LOL!! Hubby appreciates the sentiment, rather than the images...phew !!

First I used Life's A Party for the card base sized at 8.389"

I added another Heart sized at 4" in white

Another in red sized at 3.75" with another sized at 3.208" placed inside to make a frame

Sweet Heart sentiment was sized at 1.528" for the font shadow and 1.472" for the font

The next thing was to add my embellishments using Love Struck 2010 cart.

Kiss was cut at 1.5"

Both lips were cut at .75"

Winged hearts were cut at 2"

Hearts were cut at 1.75" & 1.5" (I flipped the smallest to sit on top of the larger heart)

Cupcake topper banner was cut at 4.931"

Finally the cupcake wrapper was cut at 7" (we have smaller cupcakes here in the UK)

Firstly I scored my heart card in half , then folded one half of one side inward, to form my easel base

Next I added paper Doilies to the cutout section of my frame

I added one of the winged hearts to my cupcake topper and put the 2 hearts together

I hadn't used the "Kiss" phrase before and it cut out 3 times around all sections strangely, so I used the centred cutout and hand cut a white base for it.

Here's the cupcake I made for my Hubby

Needless to say it didn't make it to the final picture LOL!! (Good job I made plenty more ;) )

I added the red frame and then added the Sweetheart sentiment to the front of my white heart along with the matching winged heart from the now devoured cupcake :)

Next I glued directly on to the upper facing folded part of my base card

Then I added my framed heart to the adhesive section of the base

and not forgetting the back

My card was completed by adding the "Kiss" onto the hearts that were pop dotted onto the base to act as the stopper

As you know I use the month of January to make my cards for the year.... yes I often come up a little short and have to make more but I have great intentions. So this week I challenge you to make a Birthday Card or a Birthday Layout to celebrate the birth of someone you love. Valentine Jar

Good morning everyone. This is Chris from Get Inspired With ChatterScene. First I wanted to thank Sheila for asking me back again this month.

For todays project I put together a cute little Valentine's Day jar. I had a lot of fun doing this project.

First I started with an old peanut container. I peeled off the label and ran it through the dishwasher.

I then took some Stampin Up paper and cut it at 7x4 so it would wrap around the jar half way.

Then I opened up my Cricut Craft Room.

The bug is from the Cricut Cartridge Simply Charmed. And the scalloped circle is

from the Cricut Craft Room Basics digital cartridge.

The bug and its layers I cut at 3 inches. The scalloped square I cut at 3.25 inches.

I used a red ink around the scalloped square.

And black ink and red chalk to draw in the face ( I hid the contours of the face when cutting it )

After glueing the paper to the jar I took my pink ribbon and wrapped it around

having it meet in the front of the jar. Taped it in the front and then glued the the scalloped square

over it. I then took a couple of 3d pop dots and added the cute love bug to the front.

Took another piece of the pink ribbon, some read thread, and a red button.

Created the bow and then glued on the side.

Then I added some glitter to his antennas and his heart.

The lid on the jar I took off white ribbon and glued it around the jar.

And then added the finishing touch of the red thread and button to the lid.

I then added some fun Valentine's Day candy to the inside:)

5 Minute AMAZING card

Hello everyone!! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS to share a simple card. As some of you know, I am a designer over at CLUB RUBY DESIGNERS and each month there is a new kit filled with amazing products to create from! The January kit is called "Fun for Boys and Girls" and it is just adorable! To see this amazing kit, click HERE . On to my project - it really did only take me 5 minutes to make this card!!

Here is how to put it together - quickly and simply!

CUT THE CARD BASE: Cut a 5"x10" piece of gray card stock and score @ 5" and fold.

Cut a 4.5"x4.5" square of the "TO THE MOON" paper (in the kit), and attach a piece of the gray ribbon by adhering it only on the back, then attach it to the card base.

EMBELLISH - adhere the 2 cardboard arrows so they point to the word "AMAZING" and attach the star clip over the ribbon. Stick the letters UR on top of the large arrow and two asterisks beside "AMAZING". I added some ruby Stickles on top of the letter U. Add a little white gel pen stitching and you are DONE!

Wedding cards

Good morning! I am so happy to be back at She's a Sassy Lady after taking a little break since last Fall. I've been busy having grand-babies! I've had two (a girl and a boy) 4 months apart.

For today's post I made two wedding cards. The beautiful lace you see underneath the cards is actually a sleeve from a wedding dress which I bought at a thrift shop, took apart and use it on my layouts and cards. It's an inexpensive way to use beautiful things, right?

I used Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut out the card and layered it three times.

Stines and Stems

Hi everyone! This is Elizabeth from 217Creations. I am completely addicted to Glass Etching. It all started when my husband wanted to do an etched beer stine as a white elephant gift for his office holiday party. I had never done any kind of etching. I knew how to do but had never attempted it.

I started by kiss cutting (3 depth, 3 speed, 3 pressure) into vinyl. He wanted "Risk Analytics"- his company's name. I used Nate's ABC font at approximately 1 inch.

Once I had cut the vinyl, I placed the stencil of the font onto the mug. I placed the large portion first and then placed the center of the R and the A into the stencil.

We bought the mug at Goodwill for 49 cents. I then used a black sponge brush and covered the stencil with Armour Etch.

After about 10 minutes, I rinsed the etching cream off, dried the mug, and removed the vinyl.

I had a hard time photography the mug.

Remember you can enlarge any photo by clicking on it.

This was a huge hit at the holiday party since all the employees are male. We boxed it up with some beer, pretzels, and beef jerky- The Total Guy package

So after the success of the White Elephant gift, I got thinking I could do small gift for my siblings and their spouses for Christmas. I went to the Dollar Store and bought all the men Beer Stines and all the girls Wine Glasses.

I then used Blackletter Cricut cartridge for the guys at 4 inches.

The wine glasses were etched with Wall Decor and More at 2 inches.

Each couple received a set with their first name initial etched into the glass.

You know its a good gift when it gets posted on Facebook with a shout out! My sister Kathleen and her husband Bret put them to use right away. Hello my crafty friends! This is Kimberly from My Craft Spot and I have a vintage style card for you today!

The patterned cardstock is from My Minds Eye - Lost & Found. I absolutely love these 6x6 paper pads! The sentiment is from my new Always & Forever stamp set. The birdcage and layers were cut at 5.19 inches from the Sophie cartridge. I wanted two birds so I used my Gypsy to flip and weld a second bird to the top of the cage.

I covered the red birdcage with glossy accents and then cut tiny pieces of dimensional adhesives to pop it off the card a bit.

Helpful Hint: When cutting intricate shapes from thick cardstock, I like to set my machine to cut 2 times and reduce the speed to 3. I set the pressure at 5 and the blade depth at 6. It also helps to have a newer blade. This helps reduce tearing and gives you a clean cut.

I love to add a light coat of glitter that doesn't overwhelm the diecut! So, for the birds, I first inked the edges with a brown ink and used my black pen to make eyes, then used a sponge to brush a light coat of glossy accents over each bird. I lightly sprinkled the glitter on and tapped off any excess.

I used crackle accents on the heart and the button. Then tied the tag and button on with a bit of twine and added some Aqua Mist crinkle ribbon. I inked everything with Walnut distress ink.

Valentine's Wreath

Hi, everybody, I'm Shakey from Craftypinkbutterfly. It's great to be back, I did not have a post last month and I am really glad that Sheila put me back on the schedule for this month because I had really lost my will to craft. So when she put me on the schedule I had to get my mojo back and this is what I made. Hope you like it and it inspires you to make one too.

To make this I used a styrofoam wreath, white, pink and red cardstock (7 of each), hot glue gun, a box of corsage pins, a paper roller tool, Ranger Inkssentials blending tool, Martha Stewart craft paint in peppermint bark (love this paint!!!) and the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge. I was going to use the pink glue sticks but decided to just use clear.

The first thing I did was paint the wreath pink just in case you see through the flowers once you pin them flowers on the wreath.

Next it is time to cut the roses from page 68 with the shift on. I had 7 pieces of 8x11.5 cardstock and i used all the pieces. I got 12 roses out of every sheet and I cut them at 2.5 inches. I wound up with 252 flowers which was WAY to many.

On the white flowers I decided to ink the edges with CTMH Hollyhock ink and the Ranger Inkssentials blender tools.

Now comes the most time consuming part is to roll the roses and hot glue them together.

Here are all the flowers. I did not roll all the flower cause I figured I had enough. I still did not use all of these.

It's pretty fun attaching the flowers to the styrofoam but please be careful cause the pins go all the way through (I stuck myself plenty of times, OUCH). I used pliers to bend the pins on the back on the wreath.

Once again here is the finished wreath.

I am not going to lie this took a lot of time, like days, but I feel like it was totally worth it. I really hope you like it.

Making Multiples With Your Gypsy

Shhhhh, don't tell my friends or Charlotte over at A Little Bit Of Detail, but this is my card for my Friday the 13th Card Party! Isn't he just too cute? Well is was so easy to do, thanks to my Gypsy Woman and I thought I would just take a few minutes and share with you because so many times we need multiples. This card will make 9! Yes I did say 9. I needed 7 for the party and I made 2 extra for my stash. I had to chuckle because after I put my card together on my Gypsy I saw Edna at Create With Expression and the Cricut Magazine had featured this card also... see great minds!

Let's get to work and make this card...

Now wasn't that easy? If you need a refresher on shape cards just go to the Gypsy tab at the top of my blog and you will find it under one of the Gypsy Made Simple tutorials. I thought it would be best if I shared this as we really need to take full advantage of the Gypsy and start designing more that 1 object at a time. Personally I think it is easier to make in multiples as you only have to choose the paper one time! It takes me longer to choose paper that to make the silly card!

Now let's get this card put together...

Another easy make. I was going to flip the video like Stacy from Love That Bug said but then I realized I kept turning the papers for you to see and they would have been upside down so I left it. Happy New Year card

This is Pam from Papillondigitaldesigns & TheBugBytes. I am the sassy designer for the day at She's a Sassylady. Thank you Sheila for having me share on your blog.
I want to wish you all first a Happy New Year.
I have been crafting a bit lately - yeah! I have been busy making flowers and embellishments and scanning to digitize my photos. But for today I will just share a card with you since it's just 6 days past new year.
I used the silhouette for this project with some of their lovely echo park patterns. But the main image the sand clock is an svg file I created and is available at papillondigital designs.
Here is the card

Funny how the hand (tim holtz brad mounted on button)- shows about an hour before 12:00 :) . It was on time lol but now guess it should point the other way.

It is so simple except for a bit of cutting with the knife on the clock you can cut out everything with a scissor. In fact as my mat was not tacky enough and the file was broken up to 2 pages and more that's what I ended up doing!

The inside of the paper was white and I wanted some color so I used dewdrops ink and smushed it on the paper using the dabbers (I love the finger dabbers). Then I had some brown ribbon with snowflakes on then which I think I got from archivers. I glued it on using fabri tac.

Added glossy accents to the sand clock to get that glassy/stickery effect.

You may note that the svg file looks a bit different as you can cut layers in that. In this I just used the advanced fill option in silhouette studio to get a transparent effect while printed. I used the dimensional glue dots for layering. With that you don't need pop dots/foam dots.

Planning A Card Party

This morning I thought I would share with you a card party that is going to happen in my home next Friday evening. I am sharing as I thought you too might want to try it on your own. I am so excited as five of my friends including one of my blogger friends Charlotte from A Little Bit Of Detail is coming! I sent out an Evite with the following copy in it. I want you to know I already have 4 cards at my home ready to be made! I think the party will be a success, don't you? Let me know in the comments what you think of a party like this, and if you would attend one if you received an invitation like mine. Also let me know what you would change or add if you were the hostess.

This is a special card party! No one is selling anything, yet everyone will be going home with cards to get them started for the New Year! Yeah, doesn’t that sound like fun!

Let’s face it we all purchase and use many cards throughout the year and it can get pretty expensive. And if you are like me you love those hand-made cards the best. This year we will start the year out right by having at least 6 handmade cards.

Oh, did I mention prizes? There will be prizes too! Don’t you just love prizes? I will be giving away a 12x12 DCWV paper stack to two lucky winners! You just have to show up with your card packages and be ready to have fun! Don’t you just love those odds!

Here is how it works. Only 6 people are allowed at this party (and Jen & I have used up 2 of those seats) so call early to get your reserved seat! Each person will receive 6 card packages, 1 from each of the participants attending. The package will contain everything needed to complete the card. You will be doing the assembly of your packages at the workshop so bring your own adhesive (favorite tape runner & glue).

You are required to bring 6 card packages. All 6 packages will contain the same card, color may vary. You will have the card stock scored, stamped images already on the paper and if they are to be colored in that should be done also. Make sure any cuts are completed and if inking is needed please have that done too. If you want your cards to have extra dimension please feel free to use your Cuttle Bug. If pop dots, rhinestones or any other embellishments are needed, please include them in your little package.

At the workshop you will be given 10 to 15 minutes to help everyone assemble the card you designed. Please make sure you bring a completed card for them to see as some people find it easier to work off of a display and then you have to show less also.

Half way through we will stop for refreshments and goodies as we don’t want to bring drinks to the table we are working on. Then we will go right back to working on our cards and chatting some more! So reserve your seat and then start working on getting your packages ready. It can be any kind of card, Birthday, get well or maybe a thank you, just have it completely ready for assembly.

So what are you waiting for? Pick up the phone and reserve your seat.

Note: Once your seat has been confirmed by Jen or Sheila you need to make your card packages and get them to either one of us at least 1 week prior to the workshop. This way even if there is an emergency and you can’t make it that night everyone with reserved seats will still get all 6 cards including you! So hurry up, mark your calendars and let’s have some fun!

Not Your Average Layout

Happy New Year scrappers, this is Kate from Sassy and Scrappy. I'm so happy to be here with you all today. I have a really simple, fun layout to share with you. This December was incredibly busy and somewhat overwhelming, but really special and miraculous as well.

Now that the holidays are over and life is getting back on track I have a lot of scrapbooking to catch up on, so I decided I'm going to take it easy on myself. I purchased some divided page protectors from American Crafts, which you can see here. This is my first time using them and I have to tell you it was a lot of fun and so easy.

I started by printing three 4x6 photos. Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut a title and accents for my page. As a side note, I love my Cameo! I use thick cardstock, primarily Papertrey Ink, and it cuts beautifully, even thin details like you can see in the picture below.

I added some color mist to my cardstock. You should know, I make a big mess if I spray the paper while it's on my desk, so now I have a designated "misting" box.

It's a little difficult to tell from the picture below but I tested out where I wanted to adhere embellishments by placing the photos/paper in the pocket and then laying stickers, buttons, etc to the plastic. I also added stick pins to the layout by pushing them into dimensional adhesive. You can see that in the bottom right of the picture below.

Tea Time Pocket Card

Good Day. I am so excited to share this with you today here at The Bug Bytes and She's A Sassy Lady. This little pocket card is such a fun little card that you will find yourself making it over and over again with lots of little sayings stuffed with all kinds of goodies. I designed this card to be one of the cards we will be making at a card party on the 13th of January. I used my Gypsy Woman to weld all the pieces and letters together. Please look at the first video to learn how to do this.

This is very simple to make as long as you take the time to plan ahead what you are going to do. After I did that it was simple! Now please give it a try on your own.

Now wasn't that simple to put together? This is one of the 3 cards that I am bringing to my card party. Being the hostess I felt that I should make a little extra for the ladies to make so they will actually walk away with extra cards! I will show you another on Saturday so make sure you come back then. I have been cutting and crafting all day, I actually cut out 24 cards! I can't wait for the party to see what the ladies have designed. I promise I will take plenty of photos so you can see what everyone did, okay?

This is the inside of the card. As you can see there is plenty of room to place the tea bags and write a little note. And you can always write a long note and place it in the pocket with the tea bags.

Here is a close up so you can see the glittery letters, I think they really look cool, don't you?

A New Year, A New Portfolio (Altered Paper Bags)

Happy 2012!!! Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway with a project to help keep me organized in 2012! My friend and fellow instructor at Michaels, Carol, made one of these to keep track of her class sheets and information. Carol is amazing and rocks the Tim Holtz classes. Her portfolio was super distressed. I wanted something a little more artsy for mine.

I layered three paper bags (back and forth) similar to making a mini paper bag album. I used my ATG gun to adhere the pages together. The Target bag (with a handle) is bigger than the other two, so I used that one for the cover. I put the HyVee bag (also with a handle) next so the handle is on the opposite side. The center bag had no handle, but if it did I could have cut it off.

Here is a side view of the bags glued together.

The front of the bag has two pockets glued back to back.

I used scrapbook paper that I found at Michaels last year. I loved the doodling look! I trimmed the paper to fit the width. I then cut the paper just below the center and adhered it to the front and back cover leaving a gap.

I adhered purple ribbon around the cover hiding the gap.

I used a 3 inch strip of denim to bind my portfolio. I ran it through my Xyron to make it stick evenly.

I tied some crinkle ribbon and some metal hearts to the front.

I don't own any copics, but I borrowed a purple marker from my son and colored in a few words and a heart on the cover.

Here is the inside. An 8 1/2 x 11 page fits inside the pocket.

I left the center open to add future photos, words of inspiration, doodles or whatever I find to inspire me!

Weekly Challenge - Thank You Cards

Well Christmas is over and the New Year celebrations will be tonight. We have all been touched by so many wonderful people with gifts, parties, dinners and all types of hospitality over the past two weeks. And you know what that means... it's time to get out the thank you cards. We all need to write them and let those we love know just how much we appreciate the caring and generosity. What better way than to send them on a hand made card!
This weeks challenge is THANK YOU cards! I know I need to send you quite a few so I thought I would keep my card simple. So I got out my Gypsy and just did a very simple design.

I picked out some wonderful paper from My Minds Eye and let my Cricut do the work. Oh I mentioned in the video about a funny story and caught my self in an error and forgot to tell you, so....
Hubby and I stopped at CVS to pick up some hairspray. The lady in line in front of me was picking out a Birthday card for someone in your family and when the cashier rang it up the total came to $8.08 and the lady says in a very loud voice "you have got to be kidding! This of course got our attention, I turned to my husband and said aren't you happy that I make all our cards? He replies "that's what I keep you around for!" Can you believe $8 for a card! I send out over 200 cards every year so that is a big savings in our household even if were only $1 per! Okay, I guess I have bored you enough with my silly stories and get back to the business these simple thank you cards. We need to have plenty of them in our stash to let others know how much we appreciate them.
So this week I challenge you to make Thank You Cards! Then Link them up. I can't wait to see what you come up with as I too am always looking for some fresh ideas.

Hot Cocoa Slider Card

Hey Ya'll! This is Leah from My Craft and Chat Cafe. Today's project is quick and fun! It's a card with a treat. The idea is so "lifted." I got my inspiration from MPS's video.

It measures 3 3/4 x 5 1/2 - base is SU Baja Breeze.

The red layer measures 3 1/4 x 5 1/8 - SU Real Red.

The white layer measures 3 x 4 1/4 and was embossed using a Cuttlebug folder(sorry, don't remember the name.)

The sentiment is from Pink by Design's "Christmas Wishes" set.

I used white ribbon from Michaels for slider bow.

The cup and steam is from Cricut Joy of the Seasons. I used SU designer paper cut at 2 inches. The steam is white, but inked w/SU ink. Click on MPS video link above and watch the video on YouTube to see a step by step on how to make your own slider card! Until next time...

Quick and Easy Valentines!

It is time to think about Valentines! Do you need several of these wonderful little cards and you don't have a lot of time? Well, here is a quick and easy way to mass produce Valentines!

My name is Carolyn from Carolyn's Creative Corner http://cccscraproom.blogspot.com/ and I am honored to be the guest designer today. I will be using the Cricut hand-held design studio, the Gypsy, a 24x12 mat, the Cricut Cartridges "Sweethearts" and "Wild Card".

This adorable little purse is from the Cricut Cartridge "Wild Card" can hold 6-8 of these small cards and the envelopes! The purse is cut on a 12x12 mat and fit to page. Add a ribbon and a stamped sentiment for a simple decoration or decorate to your heart's content!

The card image from the Cricut Cartridge "Sweethearts" is used. It measures 8 inches by 4 inches. The decorative images are from the same cartridge. The images are placed on the front cover of the card. The image will be cut away and the negative space will be used.

**Please note...you can save space on the mat by making the cards smaller. This is a 24x12 mat. There is left over paper, but I will use it for later projects.

This is a second set of cards using a different set of images. Again, I am using the 24x12 mat.

This is a close-up of one of the cards folded and completed. I used a set of Valentine stamps for a sentiment on the front. I used a glitter pen to trim the edges of the card. The negative space has red plastic attached to show off the image.

Inside of card...a stamped sentiment and the translucent plastic is attached with clear tape. I like the way the inside image looks! I thought about covering it up, but changed my mind!

These are some of the cards that I made using the "Sweetheart" cartridge.

But wait...I am not finished...

Look at all the wonderful images that are left behind! They are just waiting for red card fronts! So, you get even more Valentines!

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Ink, No Colored Cardstock, No Foam, and Out of Ideas

Hi everyone, Beth here from thunderbirdlindybydesign. This quick banner was not made in my craft room. We are traveling for the Holidays, and I had the bright idea that I would have time to make something while I was gone. I packed my Cricut, Gypsy, White, and red cardstock and a paper pad from GCD studios called Home for the Holidays. I also packed my ATG, and nothing else. What was I thinking? And with the help of my inlaws, they provided a hole punch and some double sided foam tape that you use for putting down carpeting, and white ribbon, this is what I came up with.

I used Tis the Season for the Mittens and Cardinal, Jolly Holiday's for Winter Wishes, and Christmas for the Snowflakes. The Mittens were cut with their layers at 6.11 tall using the Gypsy. Winter Wishes was cut at 3.12 tall along with it's layers, the cardinal was cut at 2.29 tall along with it's layers, and the snowflakes were cut at 2.5 tall.

It sure is hard making something without all of your supplies at your finger tips. It needs ink and glitter, and my craftroom!

A Christmas Story

This is Stacy from Love That Bug. I am so honored to back over at Sheila's today to share a super quick and easy gift idea with all of you. This is a recycled jar that I turned into the cutest little gift for someone. It is full of M & M's and seems appropriate for this time of year. It is a little story about the birth of Jesus Christ seen from candy!
To decorate the jar, I just wrapped a piece of card stock around it, and punched out a scallop shape for the front. I used the computer to print the "To and From". For the tag, again, I just printed the story and tied it to the jar with ribbon, then filled the jar with the M & M candies.

Hey y'all! Good Morning! Aymee Gandy of 'A Scraphappy Southernbelle' here with you today to share a crafty project. I hope you are having a grand day so far! So tell me...how was your Christmas?!!! I hope all of you had a wonderful time with your family and friends. Did you get lots of goodies?! My family and I had a wonderful time! I really enjoyed getting to see everyone and spend time together. I think that is my favorite part of the holidays!

Now that Christmas is over, I figured we better start thinking about the next holiday...New Years!!! 2012 is right around the corner! I have a feeling it's gonna be a great year! In celebration of the New Year, I made a little card to send out to a friend. This was a very simple card to make and came together in about 30 minutes, so you can't beat that.

I cut this card base out using the 'Wild Card' cartridge. I then cut my New Years embellishments using the 'Celebrate With Flourish' Cartridge. For the card front, I added a bit of stitching to bring out some texture. I also used pop dots to pop up my hat/clock cut. Last, I added some pearls and rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.

Here is a view so you can see how my pop dots helped to raise the image on the card front.

The inside is very simple and I used all my negative cardstock pieces I had leftover from cutting the card front.

Hi Everyone. This is Chris from Get Inspired with ChatterScene. I wanted to thank Sheila for allowing me to share my project with you. I had a bit of Internet trouble and she patiently waited till my issue was fixed. Thanks Shelia!
I had step by step pics but when I got my laptop back they were deleted from my desktop.

For this project I used my new Cinch. I have never used a binding system before so I messed up the one edge but think it still looks okay.

I used the Cricut Craft Room to create the numbers. Using the craft room basics cartridge. The words were cut out with the basics too. The bow is the 3d bows digital cartridge from the craft room. And Santa and his sleigh is from Joys Of The Season.

I do have it glittered up but the glitter didn't show up in the photo.

I hope everyone has a great Holiday and A Happy New Year.

My Son's Birthday Card.

Morning all,
Today is my Son's birthday, so I thought I'd share with you the card I made for him. He is Where's Wally mad. We have all of the books, mugs, calendar and I have a duvet cover for him too. He loves him, which meant I thought I'd make him a card with Wally on it.

I copied some pages from his book to have as backgrounds and some wally's.

Here's the finished card. I just mat and layered the background and Wally. I didn't want to add anything else as I know my son will be looking for Wally, so I made sure I hadn't covered him up.

Fun with Pictures and a Craft Room Tip...

Hey Ya'll,

Merry Christmas To Ya!!! Well, today is Sassy Dude Day. I don't have anything ultra spectacular to share with you today, but it is pretty cool. The first things I wanted to share with you today are a couple of fun cards I made using pictures I found on a Google Search. They are VERY simple to make... you just need a couple of label shapes, a rounded corner punch and a little ribbon. Super easy!

This is a card I made for my boss. He has two beagles and I thought this picture was so much fun! I simply printed it on our 4x6 printer, trimmed off the extra and used a rounded corner punch on it. I three label shapes (one with the side slats) using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge. I stamped the smallest label with Merry Christmas from the Merry Christmas stamp set by My Craft Spot. I ran ribbon through the slats and behind the second label shape and then stuck the picture to the top. I then tied a simple bow and added it as well. The card base is a half card and the red mat is 5 1/4 x 8 1/4. I used a large rounded corner punch on the red mat and then a smaller rounded corner on the green card base. I used the same mats on the inside for the sentiment.

The next one was made for my Aunt. I just thought this picture of the boxer is TOO funny! I did the same thing minus the ribbon for the front. On the inside, it says... "He just found out that Santa KNOWS!" She got it yesterday and got a good chuckle out of it. Everything on both cards was inked with a chocolate ink. These are very different for me, but thought they were cute enough to share. There are so many funny pics on the web, so if you need a quick card, give it a try! BTW, I printed the pictures on glossy photo paper. We have one of those little Selphy Printers by Canon, so this was just the photo paper that comes in the kits for it. Now, we are starting to redesign the craft room. It's been great so far, but we added so many machines over the last couple of years that we are going to have to rethink things so that I can work efficiently in there again. Hee! Hee! Below are a couple of things I came up with that have really saved on space that I thought you might enjoy.

First of all, I went to Michaels and found these great wedding favor containers. The have a clear front on them and I thought they would really be a great size.

I simply took adhesive magnet material (from a roll) and cut it to fit the back. I did clean the backs of them with alcohol first to make sure that the adhesive would stick well. It did fine for me, but I had some super glue sitting on the side just in case. Hee! Hee!

Once they all had magnetic backs, I filled them with all of our different glitters, flocking powders and micro-beads. They hold an entire jar of glitter from any set that Martha Stewart has. I also have some from Recollections that fit well too. We are even thinking of doing this with our embossing powders. I have tried all kinds of glitter trays, funnels and everything else out there, but a simple folded piece of paper remains my favorite thing to use with glittering, so the wide mouth openings on these little jars are just wonderful!

This is a magnetic bulletin board and it's holding about 3/4 of the glitter stuff that we have. Oops... Guess I will have to think this one again to get it all to fit. Hee! Hee! We are going to do a counter across one wall in the craft room and my Dad has the equipment to so metal work, so he is thinking up a sort of back splash for me so that I can put this across the wall behind. They work perfectly and I was so excited to see how well! The final thing I have to share with you today is kind of a lucky find...

These are the newer Martha Stewart Glitter Glues. I just love these! We also have tons of stickles too. These are all sitting in a Lipstick Display. Jill came across a store (in the mall she works in) that was changing out a bunch of fixtures. They gave her a BUNCH of stuff! In this bundle of loot were these great little lipstick displays. You can prop them against the wall, on a shelf or you can lay them flat and they will fit in the drawers of the JetMax cubes! How cool is that?!? So... if you know anyone or frequent a place that sells cosmetics... stop by and see if they have any old fixtures they are getting rid of. Usually, they will just give them to you so they don't have to carry them to the trash. Hee! Hee! Besides that, it's great recycling!!! There were also a bunch of other things that are perfect for all of our little embellishments and tools that I will be sharing as we do the build out on our craft room.

I am really excited to get to share this with you because I have decided to be really, really... really cheap with this redesign, so it's really not going to cost much of anything to do except for a little bit of plywood and the things we already have, so hopefully soon, I can start sharing some before and after pics with ya'll.

Well, I have to run and get the rest of the house in order. We are up to 16 now for Christmas Dinner. YIKES!!! Lots to do. Merry Christmas everyone! Monogram Frames

Today is an Idea I saw on the Cricut Message Board, I am So sorry that I can not remember who it was, I will look for it, and try to post it, because she did an amazing job and deserves the credit.....

Now onto my project...
A Monogram Frame

using this Diploma Frame, I purchased at Wal-Mart for $3.00

I Cut the back off using my Exacto Knife,

then using my glue gun, I glued the glass to the frame....

here is the frame with the glass glued to it, I didn't want my frame to have a back...

and here is the finished frame, I used my Gypsy to weld the lines to the G then I had to use my exacto knife to cut the middle of the G,
the font I am using is from Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art Cartridge, and the & is from, Gypsy Font .....

I used Cricut Vinyl, and put it on the Front of my Frames, these were pretty easy to make, but you DEFINITELY want to used transfer tape or my Cheaper version....... drywall mesh tape, it works GREAT and I have used the same pieces of Drywall tape to make 6 of the frames so far...not to bad for dollar store tape...there are so many possibilities for these frames, I hope you will give it a try, and be sure to let me know if you make some I would LOVE to see them,
I am making 9 of these for gifts this year , and I just LOVE how they turned out, I hope you do too.....

Name Signs...

Hi everyone! This is Kristy from craftin-on-my-door and I want to thank Sheila for allowing my to be her guest designer again today! I look forward to my monthly She's a Sassy Lady posts!

This month I thought I would show you all a quick and fabulous Christmas gift. A friend of mine needed the help of me and my trusty Cricut to put together some gifts for her family and friends, and I through together a couple too! She started at Home Depot bought some baseboards and had them cut them down for her. Then she painted them and waited for my Cricut's arrival! We cut out each person's last name and "established" with the date they were married. Here's what we came up with...

We love how they turned out! We made 10 of these to give out as gifts. For the last name I used Plantin Schoolbook and for the established I used the Calligraphy cartridge. Using my Gypsy, E2, vinyl, and a 12 x 24 mat these came together very quickly!

My friend also had some smaller baseboards that she had painted in different colors, so we decided to decorate some of these for teacher and friend gifts.

For this one I used the Feeling Groovy and Calligraphy cartridges.

On this sign I used Feeling Groovy and replaced the dot on the i with an asterisk.

For this sign I used the Something to Celebrate and Calligraphy carts.

CHRISTMAS MEMORIES MINI ALBUM

Happy Saturday, everyone! Are we all ready for Christmas?! I'm gettin' there! :-) Java Jen here from Java Jen Creations ! Once again, I am so honored to be here and share my simple project with you all! Thanks, Sheila!

Back in October, I made a mini album based on Heidi Swapp's tutorial on My Craft Channel. For her tutorial click HERE ! This time, I'm using what I think is the easiest version of her albums. Basically, you just pick papers and adhere them back to back until you have as many pages in your album that you want.

Here is a pic of my completed mini album:

I used a retired paper pack from Creative Memories called Candy Cane. All of the Cricut cuts are from the Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons cartridge. I also used the Creative Memories tag punch and corner rounder.

For the cover, cut an 8.5"x12" piece of solid card stock. This makes the album size 8.5"x6". The inside pages are printed papers from the kit and are cut to 8"x11.5" so that when the book is closed the pages don't hang over the edge.

Here are pics of how I embellished the pages with photo mats made from paper in the Candy Cane kit. There were also card stock stickers in this kit.

We Have 2 Winners from last week’s challenge…. I took all the names and the links and made a drawing from it and used Random.org. There were 38 comments and 24 linked projects to choose from. First I drew for the cart….. using the greatest of the numbers which was the comments. Teacher Gift Bags

Hi everyone! This is Elizabeth from 217 Creations. At my oldest son's school, the teachers have wish lists for classroom supplies. I grabbed a few tags for each teacher. I decided to go with a good rule of thumb K*I*S*S- "Keep It Simple Silly". My natural inclination is to do a detailed project but this is not always possible.

I realized I needed a bag of some kind to put the items in. I found these unfinished bags at Joann's. They came in a 6 pack for $4.99. I then used a 40% off which made this a very affordable gift wrap option. Plus I could make these bags very quick (added bonus!). I started by cutting a 12 by 12 sheet to 9 by 12 inches. This left a nice border on the edges.

I then cut my images from Gingerbread. I bought this cartridge last year in a bundle. I had not used it and I have to say this is an easy cartridge to cut and layer. I am going to do some cuts for the boys to play with next week during winter vacation. Here is my sizing (real size off):

Candy 4 inches

Gingerbread Girls 6.0 inches

Holly 5 inches

Next I cut these tags from Art Philosophy at 2.0 inches. I stamped this sentiment from Pink By Design "Gratitude" set. I added some twine to the top of the tags to tie to the bags.

Finally I assembled the bags.

Here are my other designs. I made a total of 5 in about an hour.
