Pagoda Happiness Mini Cards

Hi Everyone! This is Elizabeth from 217 Creations. Thank you Sheila for having me over to play.  I was shopping at Archiver's when I saw a display of fab little cards.  They were all 3x3 and very striking.  So when I read about my good friend Flowerdisco's Pagoda Challenge, I decided to try my hand at making these adorable cards.
I started by taking plain chipboard and painting it with cream acrylic paint.
Once that was dry, I took Glimmer Mist and colored the painted chipboard with Turquoise Blue, Wheatfields, and Lily Pad.
Once I had my color sprayed, I took a white paper towel and dabbed the excess up.
Then I took the Japenese Scales Cuttlebug Folder and Embossed the painted chipbboard, but  instead of placing the chipboard in for embossing I placed it upside down for the debossed image.
I cut the chipboard into 1x1.5 inch rectangles.
Then I cut my koi from acetate in a variety of sizes.  The settings I used were Depth 6, Pressure High, and Multi Cut 2.
Then I took Alcohol Ink in Sailboat Blue, Gold and  Citrus.  I dabbed the Alcohol Ink into the acetate to give a watercolored look to the cuts. If you want to learn how I ink acetate, please visit THIS LINK to a video tutorial.
Then I took by 12x12 double sided cardstock and cut it into 3x 6 strips.  I scored the the middle.
Then I trimmed about 1/2 inch off the bottom of the front of the card, so the inside would show through. This cardstock is from DCWV Summer Dream.
Next I stamped the sentiment "happiness" to the card's corner and tied a small ribbon as trim on the bottom of the card.
Finally, I assembled the card.  I used vellum adhesive to adhere the fish to the chipboard squares.
I inked the edges of the chipboard square with VersaMark Chalk ink in Turquoise Blue. I hot glued the chipboard to the corner of the card.

  3. Great card. Love it. For acetate rub lightly with soapy solution (less water) on acetate for the paint to adhere to or best and if you just plain acetate and want to make your own Rub Ons from acetate great way to go about it is to spray it with hair spray gel like fine mist hair gel and printing anything on it (in reverse) and you get your own home made Rub On's
