Don't you just love this layout? I used my Cri-Kit Gel Pens for the art work on this and my Cricut Markers on the lettering! It was great because my Cricut did all the work and I just put the parts together.
This is the background on my paper. See how simple. I used the sword from Indie Art at 4.24 inches, and the paper is DCWV, the guy stack.
The Cri-Kit gel pens are so easy to use. See the little magnets at the top... well as soon as you slip the pen in the holder it clicks into place and is ready for use.
Then all you need to do is just place it in your blade housing... its just that simple. Note I set my pressure to 3 and hit cut. The machine went to work and so did I.
I let my cricut do all the work why I whipped up a batch of cranberry orange muffins (from the box), don't tell hubby as they are one of his favorite home made treats while I was waiting for all the swords to be drawn on the paper.
Now this is the way to scrap and cook at the same time.... let the machine to all the work!
This is what the page looks like all printed, cool eh? I also did the blue sheet for the circle. Remember print first, then hit RETURN TO DESIGN on your gypsy. Then change your blade and cut your design.
My muffins were completed by the time I had printed 2 full sheets of paper and cut the circle and the 3 sword from Creative Memories Metallic paper.... I took the muffins out put them on a rack and was ready to continue to scrap.
Now it is time to do the heading. First I placed my Provocraft cricut marker in the blade housing then my cricut wrote out the heading.
When it was completed I first told My Gypsy Woman to RETURN TO DESIGN. Then I placed a scrap paper under the blade housing so that the marker would not leave on unwanted mark on my design and took out the marker and replaced it with a blade. Then I hit the cut button, adjusted my pressure back to 6 and cut the heading.
Now to make the circle pop off the page. All I did place a line of glue around the circle with my NEW PINK ATG gun!!! and then just folded the ribbon on the back as shown. When I completed that I used the ATG and placed a line of glue on top of the ribbon. I then flipped the circle over to the top and attached to the background page. I then positioned the photos and heading to the page.
Don't you just love how that circle with the photos on it just jumps off the page? I then blotted black ink on the swords and adhered them to the page. Viola, its done!
The final shot, notice I even had room to journal on the page. Justin just loved his plastic souvenir sword from Orange Beach, can't you tell?
Here is another close up of the page. Be sure to let me know if you like today's design, its the first time I have used these pens on a 12x12 layout.
Have a great day and be sure to enter the contest at the top right corner on the blog as Saturday 8/4 at 8pm is the deadline to win a set of these wonderful pens.
