We Wish For You The Best Christmas Ever!
What can I say other than this is such a blessed year for Jim and I. We have been able to spend a lot of time with our family this year and that is always so special. Having family close by is such a blessing. We are thankful that we have made a few trips to Chicago to visit Heather, Dan, Brianna, Carissa and Aiden. We stayed at Susan and Greg’s and have had a wonderful time. We even found a Bakers Square open. We had my favorite French Silk Pie and Jim’s Lemon Meringue, YUMMY! What can I say it is the little things in life that make us happy!
Jim and I have added one of those little blue swimming pools in our back yard that is four foot deep and eighteen feet round and we are like two silly little kids in this thing. Although we have a neighborhood pool it is so much easier just to walk into the back yard and jump in! Wish our covenant would allow something larger but for now it makes us happy. We flew Brianna and Carissa in for a week. They had so much fun; summer camp every day, home to swim in the pool and then spending the night with their cousin. What a great time we had with all of them. But, the summer became an adventure when the oil spill hit and dreams of a family vacation seemed to vanish under a slick of oil. Thankfully Regina was on the ball and found the last condo available on Myrtle Beach. Drat the luck we had to take a 4 bedroom penthouse right on the beach!!! We had a great time.
The children are growing so fast, it is just amazing to watch them all grow. As I write this letter to you we are preparing for our Christmas visit to Chicago and I can’t wait. It will be a surprise for the girls but, Aiden is anxiously awaiting Grandpa and Grandma’s visit. He is such a little cutie we are enjoying getting to know him as he develops his personality.
We are enjoying being grandparents and spending as much time as we can with these precious little ones. They just grow so fast and are so much more fun since we don’t have the responsibility of raising them. We just love them…. And then love them some more. We cherish every hug and kiss and love you from them and feel that is the best.
God is good, you see it’s not about worldly goods, and where you’ve been and who you know… it’s the love of family that makes you rich. I know God gave these beautiful children to us so we could understand Him more. So we could have a better understanding of how great His love is for us! We are children of God. Just think of how much you love your child, that’s how much God loves you and more.
We wish the love of a child for you, filled with awe and wonder at this the Christmas season. May your hearts be softened as that love of a child during this holy season….
