Hello Pop Up Card

Today's card was so much fun to make and I didn't even use my Cricut. I know it is hard to believe as I feel I can't do anything without it but I got one of those creative urges at work and went with the flow. I figure if my friend Pam at The Bug Bytes can do that so can I! So I hope you are checking this out Pam!

Here are my directions for this little pop up card. I planned it out at work and all you have to do is click on this link for your POP UP CARD PDF file.

I then took my two sides facing so the insides would be touching and made a punch about 1/3 of the way of the circle to allow for a little area to pull.

That leaves you with these three pieces. Lay aside all other than the front of the card and we will prepare that by making an opening. You will need to keep the instruction sheet near you for the exact measurements so please download now so you can have for this step.

This is how it will look when you have completed the flap. Not bad for the first card! I was very happy with this cut. Now all we need to do is follow the scoring instructions. So grab your sheet and score your card according to the measurements.

After you have completed that add glue to the smallest area of the scored section and adhere the 3 inch wide insert making sure that it is centered from side to side and that the edge lines up so that you can see the inside of the card when it is pulled open.

It will look like this when you pull it. Notice how that bottom edge lines up perfectly?

Now all you need to do is use your ATG or snail glue around both sides and bottom as shown and glue it together.

Don't you just love how nicely this card comes together? And just think I am at work with only limited supplies!!!

I had this sheet in my bag so I am going to take that little hello tag and use it as the front of this little card. The paper is DCWV; the Songbird stack. I love the colors and will sneak out later and go find some flowers and ribbon to go with this card.

I wanted you to see a close up of where you attach this. Just center and place right above the fold. I am so proud of myself as Pam from The Bug Bytes just did a beautiful card on the 4th of February and didn't use her Cricut, so I challenged myself to make one too! And look how well this card is coming together! ANYONE CAN MAKE THIS CARD!

Now how cool is this!!! Now all I need to do is embellish and stamp a sentiment on the inside and it is good to go! I didn't finish this at work as my lunch break was over and I didn't have the embellishes to continue.... so the rest of the card will be completed at home. This is wonderful as it is easy to make yet looks so complicated. All I had with me was the paper and my ATG (I keep one at work) and my cutter. To bad I didn't have my messenger bag with me as the card would be done. My messenger bag is always loaded with supplies and embellishments!

I am so excited, this is one of my little splurges at Joannes that I just had to use on this card. The package of stamps was on clearance for only $2.97 and one of the stamps will go perfect in this card.

I stamped the inside and added the wonderful colors flowers from K and Company, another Joanne's splurge. But they are just perfect on this card.

I also added glossy accent on the eyes and stickles on the wing to make the birds more noticeable.

And that's my little card. Isn't it adorable? And I didn't even use my Cricut. The cool thing is it really is unique. I can't take credit for the design as I have seen it somewhere before. Just wish I had remembered where and it would have taken a lot less time to figure out how to cut. But the good news is we all have it now, right?
