Tis The Season To Sparkle

Hi Everyone! This is Chris from Get Inspired With ChatterScene. I am honored to be a guest designer today on She's A Sassy Lady. Thank you so much Sheila for having me!

I didnt get to do the project I had planned for this month because the supplies I needed, I ordered online and I still have not received them. So I am hoping Sheila will have me back next month so I can share it with you all then instead!

I apologize if I took too many pics ..lol I got carried away.

Today I wanted to share with you a card I created using the CCR and the Snow Angel Imagine Cartridge.

In the CCR I created a Square measuring 4.75 and flood filled it with green. Then I created another square measuring 4.50 and flood filled it with a pattern from the Snow Angel Cartridge.

Then I created two rectangles. One at 4.25 x 3 and one at 4 x 2.75 and flood filled them with two different color greens.

Then in the Snow Angels Cart I cut out the tree. I separated the layers and cut that way so I could layer them for more dimension on the card.

I folded a white piece of card stock 5 x 10 in half and layered the cricut cut outs on top.

Then I added a bow , stickles and my sentiment to the card.

November Snow?...In the South?

Hi everyone!  I'm Charlotte, from A Little Bit of Detail, and just so glad to be back with you.  I first want to thank Sheila, my hometown friend, for inviting me back.

  Today was our first day back in school after the Thanksgiving break.  And there was a lot of excitement in the air.  Usually when we return to school after Thanksgiving the two topics of conversation are the Iron Bowl, (Alabama/Auburn football game) and Christmas.  There was some  talk about football, not much about Christmas, because everyone was talking about the predicted snow.  We get very little snow here in Alabama, much less during the month of November.

So as I was thinking about my project, the first thing that came to mind was something with snow.  Here it is.  I made a folded frame card.  Splitcoaststampers.com has a very good tutorial on how to make a folder frame.  It is just about the easiest thing ever to make!  I love it!

The folded frame reminds me of a quilt square.  A nice cozy quilt will feel good on the bed tonight. 

 I cut the snowflake from A Child's Year cartridge.  After cutting it out, I ran it through the Xyron to get it real sticky so I could add some Martha Stewart glitter to it.  It was then added to the folded frame.

  The scalloped frame is cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge.  I added a pale blue sheer glittered ribbon and bow to carry through that frosty look of snow.  

And I finished the card with a label cut from Lacey Labels.  The sentiment is from the Winter Wishes stamp set by K Andrew Designs.  I love these stamps because they can all be mixed and matched to create so many different sentiments.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Happy Monday Y'all! Aymee Gandy of 'A Scraphappy Southernbelle' here with you on this beautiful day to share a couple of Christmas projects with you guys. But first, how was your Thanksgiving? Did you all have fun with your family and friends? I sure hope so! Brandon and I were unable to make it home to Alabama to see our families for the holiday, so we had a little celebration here. I even cooked a mini Thanksgiving dinner. It was nothing like my Mom's cooking, but it was festive. We had a good time! We spent the day just enjoying each others company and even took our Yorkie, Katie Scarlett, to the park for a long walk. I know we are all about scrappin' here, but I had to show off a pic of my baby on her very first Thanksgiving! Tee hee!

Now, on to the scrappyness! First up, I have a bit of home decor' that I created using 4 frames I found at a local dollar store! I tell ya, you can find the best frames at the dollar store to alter up and make unique artwork for your home. Be sure to take a look the next time you go in to one to see what you could create!

 I used my Cricut to cut ovals and then embossed them with my Cuttlebu. I then put my alphabet stickers on top of that.

For this card, I used my Gypsy to design it and then my Cricut to cut it out. I put some clear acetate (recycled from a leftover sticker sheet) on the back of the window to create the 'glass.' I then used pop dots to pop this up and add some blue embellishments to create my shaking mechanism. I was going for the look of snow when you shake the card.

 Here is a view from the side so you can see the window popped up to allow the shaker part to work.

 I added a simple sentiment to the inside.

Holiday Paper Wreath

With the Holiday's upon us, I thought it would be fun to make a paper wreath!  I actually made a similar wreath last year for my son's classroom and incorporated photo's of each classmate on the wreath (cannot find the picture of it).  So this year, I created this Santa Wreath and I will be incorporating photos of my children with Santa throughout the years!  Thank you so much for viewing this project!

Here are the instructions for making this wreath:
Cut 10 sheets (5 of each patterned paper) into 8" x 8" sheets.

Cut each of these sheets in 1/2:

Take one piece and pinch one end of the paper together and Glue It.  Repeat with all papers.

Then using your choice of adhesive (I used Alene's Tacky Glue & Staples). Secure 2 pieces of pinched papers and attach the two ends together by your choice of adhesive (I used both Glue and Staples).





Repeat process with paper variations.  As you build this up into a circle, it does get very difficult, but keep powering through it! After completing half the circle in this manor, Glue/Adhesive unpinched sides together on lower half to secure.  To help secure the Glue Adhesive to make this easier I simply used large clips to hold together as Glue Dried!  To give you a better idea of what I am referring too, I am including the picture below:

I added to two halves together with glue and again large clips to hold together until glue dries, then I stapled and let sit until fully dry.  I added simple center embellishments and will be adding photo's over the holiday's!

I have created a TUTORIAL with 7 different Gift/Candy Cards and a bonus box!

Today, I am going to give you a "Sneaky Peek" and share with you how to make the the 1st Card from my Letters to Santa Tutorial. All supplies featured, are from Stampin' Up! and can be purchased HERE at my store!

I call this my "Snowmanlover Pop Open Card"
It is really super easy and fun to make and is sure to surprise it's recipient! 

First score 1 sheet of 8.5 x 11 Cherry Cobbler Card Stock at 2" and 6 1/4" going down

Next turn the card stock 90 degrees and score at the 8" mark. Where the scored lines meet, cut those out. I have scored them with an "X".

 It should look like this

Next take your 12x12 patterned piece of Double Sided designer paper from the Letters to Santa Designer Paper pack, using the piece with the Santa...

and cut it like this.  The Santa part is 7 3/4" x 1 3/4".

Next cut the side pieces from the extra paper at 7 3/4" long  x 1 3/4" wide

So it looks like this when adhered with tape runner adhesive

Add the "Naughty and Nice" with some Silver Brads

When you flip the flap up, add the other side of the double sided green Santa paper. I cut it at 2x 4 " and placed it on the flap

Now you need to create a "Belly Band" to enclose the card

For the Belly Band cut a piece of Early Expresso Card Stock at 2 1/4" x 9". Wrap around the card and fold as you go and you can also score the lines.

Cut out the "he's gonna find out who's" at 2x4"

Add Silver Brads. Adhere with Adhesive.

To close up your card, close your side flaps, then the fold the bottom flap up and add the belly band around the bottom part

Just tuck a Gift Card inside or add some candy to the outside and tie a gorgeous bow around the card!
