Happy Halloween! This is Christine from http://iamcocoasmom.blogspot.com/ sharing a fun Halloween card - just a tad early! I was NOT going to jump on the band wagon and buy the Tim Holtz crazy birds even though I think they're fabulous! Nope. Don't need them.
Haven't even made one card from the blueprint stamps that I HAD to have.
(In my defense, I have practiced water-coloring a few of them Not a
pretty sight!) Then, sigh, Mr. H. introduced the accessory stamps and
dies and I pushed the 'Buy' button.
Here's my card:-
If you haven't tried a cascading card before, go here
for easy peasy directions from Flowerbug. The trick is to use a nice
heavy 'designer' double sided paper AFTER you have practiced with some
old, ugly card stock.
This was a lovely project to
work on a little at a time while it was my turn to watch the puppy.
(Just to make sure she was not chewing on her stitches.) I used my
Spectrum Aqua watercolors and a small paint brush to pick up the color
from an acrylic block. I love the vampire owl with his fangs and the HP
bird with his wand which is really the paint brush stamp with the brush
end cut off! The sweet little bunny bird's tail is the fluffy ball
from the end of the Santa hat stamp.
The sentiments
were written with my Explore and say "Trick or Tweet!" "Happy
'Owl'oween!" and "Flying by with a witchy "Hi!" Such a fun, fun card
to make.
Thanks for inviting me to share my project today, Sheila. Now, I'd better go watercolor some more birds and check on that puppy! : ) Christine

Perk up, friend
Hey everyone...it is Sonya here today from Sonya's Paper Trail and I have a simple shaped
card to share. It's a cut file directly from the Silhouette
Online Store and is just too cute.
Check it out:
I
love shaped cards...such an effective way to send a simple greeting! I
used PTI white as my card base, so it is nice and sturdy. The rest of
the cardstock pieces are scraps. The stamped greeting is by
SP&Company (no longer selling stamps). I added a couple of knots of
Baker's Twine to add a little bit of visual interest and dimension.
Simple, and ready to mail to a friend who needs a lift!
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

#cards4love My Last Group Of Cards I Made Over The Weekend While Visiting My Mother In Florida
IT IS TIME TO GET YOUR CARDS MAILED IN!!!
They must be mailed by August 31st as a winner will be drawn for this promotion on September 5th. See the bottom of this post for details to get your entry in. So finish up your cards and get to the mailbox!
Below is a bunch of cards that I made in a short amount of time. I knew I was going to mothers so I got on my Explore and printed and cut a bunch of cute little animals, then I cut the little frames packed up my 6x6 paper stacks and a whole lot of other supplies. I also brought my Cutterpillar Pro 3 so I was ready to craft.
Here is a little closeup of the card so you can see this little dinosaur and the frame. I used a lot of different scrap papers for the frames. Now the balance of the photos are small but if you want a closeup just click on the photo, and then hit escape to get back to the post.
I used my Cutterpillar Pro 3 to cut paper for all the cards. I first cut my A2 bases then stacked the individual colors and pieces for each card. This way I did all my cutting, the gluing the frames, and the card together so it was like an assembly line. The card I made for you to see was not assembly style.
See how easy it is to put these cute little cards together. And, no two are exactly alike as I used 6x6 paper. Mother was embroidering while I was doing this. We worked only in the evening like 7:30 to 10 and in 2 nights I completed 32 cards and placed all in envelopes.
Here is my mother. She is busy embroidering a baby quilt for my new grand daughter that will be here in November. Each one of Mother's great grandchildren received a baby quilt. This is the 9th one!
The balance of these photos are pictures of all the cards that I took photos of, I hope you enjoy. This is such a worthy cause I hope you join in the fun too!

Dimensional Stars
Hi Everyone,
Lisa from Lisa's Craft Room here to share my project for the month. I don't know about you, but, this heat is knocking me out. I find it hard to do anything. Anyway, Angie from chic' n scratch shows how to make these stars and I thought they were absolutely awesome. I even got my son to make one. His is the second one. He did a fantastic job. I also made one with black and pink card stock for a friend, but, I must say, they look so much better with patterned paper. The size to start out with is 2 - 6 x 6 pieces. The black and white one is a 4 x 4. I was going to make a 5 x 5 but thought the 6 x 6 were a good size. The 4 x 4 is a little too small. Maybe the 5 x 5 might be better, we'll see someday.
I thought these could be made for any occasion, as long as the paper is right. Christmas, of course, but, what about Halloween, or Birthdays. I could even see them hanging as a mobile or maybe at a baby shower. Of course you would have to make a ton but, you could recruit family and friends to help out. They are not too bad to put together. I'm sorry I don't have a tutorial, but if you go over to Angie's site www.chicnscratch.com, you can follow along on how to make them.
I hope you are all surviving the heat. Unless you are a beach goer or have a pool, then I think you are fine :) or maybe you are sitting in air conditioning :) Have a wonderful weekend. Sheila, thank you for having me again :)

Dimensional Paper Art Cartridge
Hello,
everyone. It’s Charlotte C, and I want
to tell you I am in love with this new Cricut cartridge and the effect it has,
because only certain parts of the image are cut and pop up so you can see
through to the background layer. I’ll
admit when I first saw it as part of my subscription to Design Space I was
totally confused because there’s often several ways the images are presented. (If you don’t have an Explore, the cartridge
is now available for sale. See below.) You have choices with this cartridge as to
making a card as shown in Design Space, or just cut the image already attached
to a shape, or take the image itself and attach it to your own shape to either
cut or draw it – yes, draw it.
For my
tri-fold birthday card I cut two 5 x 7
card bases and attached them together because I wanted a large card for my
daughter-in-law. I sized my Dimensional
Paper Art image of the flowers to fit the front, added the text, and attached
everything to a 4 ½ x 6 ½ rectangle. My
Explore cut the flowers, cut the rectangle and wrote the sentiment in gold
marker all at the same time. Using the
point of my bone folder and one of the Cricut tools I pushed the cutout parts
of the image from the back to give it that dimensional look, then I layered it
on top of gold foil card stock before placing it onto the card base. My next inside fold was written by the
Explore – and don’t you just love the lady?
She’s from Art Deco. I did a
print then cut of the lady, but cut all the green in glitter card stock and
layered it on to bling her up. You can
see in the third photo the three sections of the card.
For this
sympathy card I used three different flowers and the Explore again wrote the
sentiment and cut the images and card stock, which I created by randomly
swirling and brushing three colors of Distress Ink across it before putting it
on the Cricut mat.
This octagon card has a front layer that has cut clouds, but the bird is drawn with
a marker (and quickly and not expertly colored in by me with distress markers).
This
cartridge makes the quickest cards with “wow” appeal, I think, and it is available for
sale as of 8/6, which means you won't need an Explore to create anything. And there are suggested sizes in the
handbook, which you can find at cricut.com/handbooks. I can’t
wait to cut more images.
Thank you,
Sheila, for welcoming me here once again.
I hope you enjoyed this little tour of the Dimensional Paper Art
cartridge. Happy crafting!
