Country Picnic Bridal Shower

Hello everyone! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS to share with you a fun bridal shower that I helped plan for a sweet young lady at our church! We went with a Country Picnic theme and we had so much fun! Thanks, Sheila, for allowing me to share the fun here!! Here are a few pics and then I'll give you more details under each one:

These are the centerpieces we made featuring the, ever popular, mason jars! The mats are 12x12 Kraft paper that has been corner punched with a Lucky 8 punch and an 11x11 bandanna paper that was also corner punched with my Lucky 8 punch. The "Mr. and Mrs." tag was from the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge and was cut at 3".

This was a cute journaling prompt tag that my friend found on Pinterest so I printed them and then created a tag to fit it! This is a tag that I found on the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and, using my Gypsy, I unlinked the H and W to stretch it to the size I needed it to be! Even with all the advances with the Cricut, which, for the record, I LOVE----- I still LOVE my Gyspy!! :-)

This little purse that I made from the Bridal Shower cartridge, was made to hold little cards that everyone wrote a little sentiment on. 

This shower was a gift card shower so we found an oval bucket to stick skewers in that we hot-glued mini clothespins to, to hold the gift cards. (Sorry the picture isn't that great but I forgot to take a pic at home so it's a little busy in the background! :-/ ) The "Mr. and Mrs." is from Tie the Knot and the Monogram B is from Tie the Knot as well. We put some paper straws over some of the skewers for more pops of color! 

The bride is the one in the center and she was thrilled with the theme!

We had catered box lunches and this was our place setting.

I cut hearts from Sweethearts and punched holes to "tie the knots"! :-)

Mother's Day Centerpiece

Hello everyone! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS and today is my turn again to share with everyone here at SHE'S A SASSY LADY! As always, I'm so grateful to Sheila for the opportunity!  I was playing around with the Giant Flowers cartridge and decided to make a centerpiece for my Mom's table decor.  Well, let me back up - when I first made the flower, I was just going to stop there but later decided to take it to the next level and make it into a centerpiece!  These Giant Flowers are soooo cool!

 Here is my finished project using Giant Flowers, Florals Embellished, Elegant Edges and Sweethearts:

I started with the Giant Flowers cartridge and cut the Lotus flower at 6.5".  There are lots of petals to cut to make this flower, but the instructions in the cartridge booklet are very clear on how many to cut of each kind of petal and exactly where they all fit into the base.

My Gypsy made this project so much easier since I can name each layer that I am cutting. I simply filled mats with each different type of petal and named that layer however many I would need to cut of that petal.  For example: If I needed 12 of a particular petal, that name of that layer is CUT 12. Hopefully you can see what I'm talking about in this pic of my Gypsy screen.

Here is how I organized my petal cuts before assembling them - I just put a little piece of paper on top with the same name of the Gypsy layer. It may seem a little silly to do this, but for me, it helped me keep track of what went where! :-)

Now, on to assembling the many petals - 

These petals are very easy to put together by following the great directions in the booklet.

This is the first layer of the petals completed and I drew with a black marker over the cut marks on the base where this layer will be inserted by following the diagram in the booklet.  This made it very easy to see and I did this with each subsequent layer so I wouldn't get confused as to where to place each set of petals. :-)

The completed flower! I made a little flower from the Art Philosophy cartridge to put in the center when I thought that I was stopping here with this project. :-) Oh, and by the way, this flower measures about 10.5" across so it is perfect for a centerpiece!

I decided to explore Florals Embellished and found so many great sentiments for Mother's Day so I decided to make a bouquet of sorts by putting these sentiments on signs.

After having so much fun embellishing these signs, I put them on wood skewers and placed them in a foam circle in the middle of the flower.

Here, again, is my finished project! I can't wait for my Mom to see it!!

Gypsy Made Simple - Wedding Accordion Card

Good Morning! I had to scrap lift another card! The basic design of this card is scrap lifted from Bobby Hardgrave of the Cricut Couple.... we know him here as the Sassy Dude Well a couple of weeks ago Bobby made this wonderful accordion card and I knew it was meant to be a Gypsy Made Simple project! A card this good we just had to make! Bobby did a beautiful card that was pretty complex so I thought I would use the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Sassy)system so we could all do this wonderful card in just a few easy steps.
I decided to do a wedding card as I am going to Chicago in for a friends wedding. I can't wait as we will be able to visit with friends and family. Now if you don't need that type of card then please make something that will work well for your needs.
So let's grab a cup of coffee, turn your Gypsy On and let's get to work.

Now wasn't that easy? Remember you can change out anything about this card to fit your needs you just need a window. I decided to leave the heart open on both sides as I was intrigued by the accordion shape and wanted to see it on both sides.

 

Now before we get into putting this card together let's get the accordion piece ready.
I took a 4.75x12" sheet of paper and placed it on my scoreboard. I scored the
paper every 1/2 inch. Then I flipped the paper over moved the paper over 1/4"
to make life easy and then scored every 1/2 inch once again.

I then folded the paper and set it aside until I was ready to assemble the card. I have to tell you my hands hurt by the time I finished doing this. I decided next time I am using velum as I think it would be prettier and a lot easier to fold that the heavy card stock I used.

Now let's put this card together. I can't wait to see it done. The colors I chose was to match the bride's colors and I just love the glitter paper that I have with this, don't you?

Now wasn't this an easy card? And so pretty. I know this is going to be one of my go to cards to make for weddings in the future... simple and elegant.

Good Morning everyone I am so excited to do this TBBM page for you today. This is a simple page that anyone can do. This is my handsome hubby and I at our daughters wedding 11 years ago!  I used TBBM for the circle and the grunge flowers. The word Love is from the Sweethearts cart and the swirls are from Home Decor.

The background flocked paper is from Me and My Big Ideas... the Sassy Stack (imagine that), the glitter paper is from HL and the black and white patterned papers are from K and C Company from their

Specialty Stack. While at HL I just couldn't help but use a couple of items from the bridal department to complete the look of this page. It's amazing what your can find to put on your pages to dress them up for little of nothing... and I am partial to the pearls.

The first thing I do when I make a layout is design it... everything I want on the page appears on my first page of My Gypsy Woman. I then highlight the item, tap add a page and paste so it will be the exact size I want. I use any square box from any cart to show where my photos will appear. I always cut out extra flowers as I always end up with more on the page than my layout shows. After I alter the flower they will be a different size and I don't want to loose the look I started with.

I just love this.... one cut... To get this look I used one TBBM circle and copied it, set one right on the other and then resized till I got the look I liked and weled them together. I then added the swirls and once again welded for that beautiful single cut.

I actually have two pages of flowers but didn't want to bore you with another page of them. I did cut the word Love three times from scrap card stock from the DCWV Taj Mahal stack. This gave it the look of chipboard and more of a presence on the page.

Beautiful clean cut, the blade was set at 5, pressure 4 and speed slow. cut 3 times.

I coated the back of all the flowers with Mod Podge to keep them from ripping with I rolled them with a thin cuticle stick or you could you the base of a slim paint brush. I rolled each petal toward the bottom. Christina from Creations from Christina has directions for this flower on her blog, however this one was totally altered for an eight petal cut.

I removed two petals for the center of the flower.

And only 1 for the next.

I glued the two together and then trimed the bottom a little so they would sit flatter.

I used a little tiny black flower with a pearl in the center on the inside of the flowers I am making. I place the center into the two bottom pieces that were just clued together just staggered a little. I did all eight flowers not knowing how many I would actually use.... as they are black and white any leftovers can be used on many things.

For you Pam.... this is what I do after I get all my cuts ready. I lay all the pieces on the background paper and start placing any embellies on the page too. In this case I chose the charm I wanted, and the pearls... I used two different sizes and styles. After I get the look I want then I adhere all the components.

So lets put it together... I used pop dots under the photos so they would be lifted off of the glitter circle to prevent the photo from having a slight crease. The pearls, flowers and charm were adhered by using large glue dots.

I used a silver charm and tied a white ribbon on it and used glue dots to adhere it to the paper, and I used cut portions of thepop dots to lift the word Love.
