You are my Sunshine!

Hello everyone! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS to share a fun birthday banner that I made for our youngest grand baby who just turned 1 in April! Thanks, Sheila, for this opportunity! First of all, here are a few pics of our adorable little Collin! He just melts my heart!!

This cheesy little grin makes me want to grab him and start smooching him! :-)

Ok! Now to my project! I made this banner using the Creative Memories Total Sports cartridge, Hello Kitty Greetings, Mickey and Friends and Mickey Font.

These pennant banner shapes with the letter cutout are from Total Sports. I simply attached them with colored twine to a piece of natural twine.

These suns that I used as banner anchors and the large sun at the bottom of the banner are from Mickey and Friends.

The letters for COLLIN are from Mickey Font and the sun shape here is actually a card that I folded over the twine and is found on Hello Kitty Greetings!

Birthday Window Card - 3 Year Old

Hi, it's Sheila and today I get to share this adorable birthday card that I made for my little 3 year old Aiden! He loves trucks so I used the little dump truck from Boys Will Be Boys and went to town. The base of the card is a frame from the Art Philosophy cart from Close To My Heart, the Happy Birthday is from birthday Cakes and the 3 is from my favorite Mickey Font cart.

 The yummy paper is from DCWV Solids and Strips stack. I just love the shine the paper has. This card is a real winner with bright colors that were used on it along with the little truck.

See how easy it is to design and put this card together. Because the card has an age number and was so personalized for Aiden I only made one. I have to tell you I am not used to having all these scraps left over... enough to make another card!

This is a close up of the little truck, I have to tell you it was hard getting a good photo as the paper was so shiney kind of like a perfect sheet of aluminum foil.

Be Mine Pocket Card

Don't you just love to make pretty things? Well that is what I think about today's card.... it is just pretty. Today we will be revisiting the pocket card and turning it into a Valentine card that will hold little bags of candy. You know you need to be creative with cards when you family lives so far away! This card was actually my daughter's idea. I just took her ideas and in a matter of a few minutes designed this cute little pocket card. She picked out the pattern paper and we used only a sheet. I wish I could tell you who it is from as it is so pretty, but I forgot to ask Jen. The glitter paper is from that $2.97 stack I purchased and she only used 1 sheet. The pink is Coordination's stock that was on sale 5 sheets for $1 at Joann's. So you see with a very little amount of cash you can produce these cards. The big expense was the candy, and that was little of nothing $2.99 for a bag and she only used half of that.

Now the first thing I did was go to the Tea Time card I made 2 weeks ago (HERE is the URL to that post if you want to see it again) and adjust my Gypsy file for the new card. You really need to follow along and do this on your own so that you get used to altering cards of your own or from files that you have downloaded from sites like mine. Note I will provide this Be Mine file at the bottom of this post.

This is how you put this card together.... so simple you will love it.

This is how the card looks from the front, as you can see it is a wonderfully simple design, great for mass producing.

This is the inside of the card... see it even offers plenty of room to write or stamp a sentiment on it.

I just like to start the new year with plenty of cards to mail to friends and family. So use the Valentine theme and make something and link it up! Let's see what you do. Gypsy Made Simple - Happy Birthday Window Card

Good Morning. It's time for a window card. I just love window cards as they are so unique. You can't get them in the stores and people just love getting them so I think it is about time that you mastered them. They are so easy, just follow a few basic steps and you are good to go.

This first video will give you the basics of how to design your card. You need to always work with a frame, so choose a cart that has a few frames and pick one that you like. I used Elegant Edges for this one. After you have the base of your card completed you can pick ANY artwork that you want as long as you have that cartridge. Remember while watching the video do the steps and if you feel you don't understand something you can rewind or leave me a question and I will reply as soon as I can or you can write me at shesasassylady@gmail.com.

This second video shows how you put the window card together. You will love how fast and easy it is to make. Normally I do two cards of the same thing but since this had a the number 3 in it signifying his age I only did one.  My paper was Glitz from Sandy at the Softside of Sandi and the rest was from my scraps.

 Isn't this just too cute for a little 3 year old little boy that has a new puppy of his own?

Gypsy Made Simple - Window Birthday Card

Good Day! I know you are going to LOVE - LOVE - LOVE this card and it is so easy that you will be making window cards in no time at all. Just turn your Gypsy on, grab a cup of coffee and let's get to work.

Today you will make any type of window card you want or need. I made this cute little card for my grand son Aiden who turns 2 in July. He is such a little cutie and loves cars and trucks, so this will be perfect for him.

This little video will take you step by step through the designing process on your Gypsy. Use any frame for the base of your card. I like Gypsy Wanderings as I am so familiar with it and the others I really need to search to find and the selection is pretty good. Remember people will be looking at the artwork and the way you decorated rather than the base of the card.

These are the yummy colors I used from DCWV the Primary color stack. I alos used left over glitter paper from the Shadow Box I made and that worked out great.

Look at this cut.... one piece and it came off the mat just beautifully. I love DCWV it cuts like butter.

Well I got everything cut and then went on an inked the little hub caps and then Glossy Accented the window so it would look real. I also inked around the edges of the base of the card so that the inside would look nice.

See how easy it is to make one of these cards! I just love the look and you just don't see anything like these window cards in the store. I sure hope you like today's project. Gypsy Made Simple - Welding Numbers To Make Cards

Isn't this card just adorable? And it is so easy when you let your Gypsy do the work! I had a birthday coming up for a wonderful friend of mine that most of you know.... Melissa of Melissa Made on the 4th of this month. Well after her putting up with me in Dallas as my room mate you know I had to make a special card just for her! It had to be sweet and feminine as she is so this is what I came up with....

She is sweet and feminine so I picked out some wonderful paper from K and Company that fits her sweet personality. Isn't it yummy?

I readied my mat and cut all the papers on my Cricut.

I scored the card and then glued the lining of the inside of the card so that it was ready to stamp on my sentiment and a personal little note to Melissa for her big day.

I used foam tape on the back of the number three which imediately added dimension to the card.

Then I used a thick pop dot for the back of the number five so it would lift even higher that the three. I placed a lot on as I wanted a nice secure card as I was giving the card to a wonderful card designer.

I just love how this card is coming together, but lets add a little bling to it to give it that finished look.

Oh wow look how much nicer it looks with a little stickles added. I know it will look so much better when it dries.

Now that looks wonderful, see how the stickles even add dimension... I love it I sure hope Melissa will.

Gypsy Made Simple - Tilting Makes Great Titles

Welcome to another Gypsy Made Simple. This week we will learn a technique that is great for titles. You will learn how to tilt the individual letters and/or adjust them individually to make an attractive title. Let's face it not everything in life is on the straight and narrow sometimes we like to just mix things up a little and this technique will help you do that. I am a firm believer that if you don't like the way it looks, change it. And, that is just what we will do today.

In this first video you will learn to tilt and even slant your letters to get the effect that you want. This is so easy yet is another one of those must learn features so you can create to your fullest potential.



Now in this video you will learn how to make your title up and down instead of just right to left. I like to use this is I have a space problem or many photos. The possibilities are endless. It is a little time consuming but well worth the effort.

This is a FUN technique and so simple to do. Using your Cricut Markers with your Gypsy. The main thing you must remember is DO NOT UNLOAD YOUR MAT between writing and cutting and you will be fine. The effect is so awesome and well worth the little extra effort in making your title.

I stated in the video that my pressure was on 2, it can also be set on 3. See what a great job our Cricut Markers do.

Now when loading or unloading your marker be sure to ALWAYS pt a little piece of paper under it so it won't mark on your paper or machine.

When replacing your blade housing make sure your have the little arrow out so you can see what your blade depth is set at and for future setting with ease.

Remember ALWAYS RETURN TO DESIGN after using your marker so it will cut accurately.

See it goes right over where the marker just did for a perfect cut.

Isn't that wonderful! I just love how these titles turn out when they are welded together like this, don't you?

Justin and Gavin are such cuties and these two pages were so easy to make.

All I used was a title on this page and our little Gavin and big brother Justin just loved it! See how those letters just pop off the page, yup well worth the effort. (Sorry the color is a little off as I took the photo with poor lighting).

Now wasn't this easy? Can't you see this done on a few of your layouts? Or maybe just a HoHoHo on a Christmas card. This week I challenge you to make a title tilting or slanting your words and then make a project with it. If you have the Cricut markers use them, if you don't that is OK. Just make a little project while this is fresh in your mind. Then post it on my blog with the Linky tool provided.
