Daddy Daughter Dance

Hi my name is Beth and I created this for the Cuttlebug Challenge this week for Wall Hangings. This picture was taken before the daddy/daughter dance in February, and I wanted to create something to showcase it.

Supplies I used were:

MS punch large scallop border

In order to get the 12x12 card stock embossed, I had to cut into 2-6x12 pieces. I embossed using the embossing folder, moving the cardstock 3 times for each to cover both pieces. I then glued the brown ribbon down the middle to cover up the cut so it would look like one piece of paper. After that was done, I thought it needed something so I used the MS punch to spice up the borders.

The Be Mine paper stack has some awesome pattern papers in it and I found one that was already embossed and glittered in blue. It is gorgeous. I fussy cut the embossed part out to create the blue embelishments.

The butterflies were cut and embossed using the cuttlebug folder, and I used the scallop frame from Home decor to frame the picture.

I used pop dots (even though you can hardly see them in the pics) and bling to give the design more interest

Fast Family LO - Packaged Kit

Somtimes you just must use a packaged layout kit because they just fit the photo. This was one of those times. I purchase this SEI paper from Flowers And Flourishes at the private sale, the paper as you can see is beautiful and the kit came with this KI Hip Chip letters, ribbon, and embellishments that matched perfectly.

I always lay everything down on the paper before applying glue.... that way I can adjust if I don't like the way it looks.

I cut the ribbon and taped on the backside of the paper. Then I took a piece just large enough to comfortably tie and thread around the piece I just taped down ant thread it through the embellishment. I adjusted the ribbon so they pattern would show after placing a knot in it, and then trimmed the edges and slid it where I wanted it.

Simple layout that took only about 15 minutes to put together. Notice all I used was one 12x12 sheet of paterned paper and an 8 1/2x11 in a matching color. Nothing was cut other than the ribbon. The letters were chipboard and I spent more time searching for the letters to family and glueing down than on the entire layout! Anyone can put together this attractive page!

Look What Came In The Mail

I am sooooo excited... such a large box. This little goodie my little grand daughter Sydney wants. She is such a little Diva and was disappointed when I said it is for me. She gave in when I said I would take a photo of her!

This little box was in that big one... now look below... isn't it pretty? My new flip! It matches my red Cannon Power Shot.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to work it!

Update I am calling the manufacturer as it is not cooperating. I think it's afraid it will die if it takes a photo of myself and refuses to do anything but read the silly card in it!

Well guess what? I just got off the phone with the manufacturer and the card I had placed in it was just an adaptor and once I put the SD card in the adaptor, it worked just fine!!!!  This was a case of operator error! Guess all I need to do now is get a little stand for it and I will start making videos!

Sassy Sissy

Well this is my Stuck On U Sketch layout featuring my little Sassy Sissy! This is a design by Aymee Gandy (aka Southernbellescrapper). I just didn't feel like sticking to my zoo photos for this so I used one that is coming up in my book. This is my little Carissa, knick-named Sassy-Sissy for here spirited attitude.... don't know where she get it! My daughter had taken them for their yearly photos and while she was waiting for the photographer to take her photo, she got tired. So she leined forward and layed her little body down.... when he turned around this is what she was doing and he snapped the photo!!!  A blackmail photo for sure when she is a teenager! Along with her yearly pose, Heather purchased this cute photo too.

You know I used my Gypsy Woman to do the layout and it was sooooo easy.

After choosing the paper I decided exactly how I was going to position the papers. Then I progressed by completing one project at a time. First glueing the butterflies together using zig glue. Be sure to place a paper towel under your project to protect surfaces and clean up messes.

Then I added skittles for the body and rhinestones and stickles for the wings.

Finally I found some keys like Sandy at Details By Sandy uses on many of her layouts (which I just love). I tied it on the ribbon that I chose.  I also skittled Sassy Sissy.

WOWSERS is all I can say!! I am so VERY VERY honored as I just received this award for the fourth time from a very talented lady, Melissa at Disney Dreamer Designs who is a very busy SAHM.... just go lokk at her blog and you will see what I mean.... Making Cards On The Run With Scraps!!!

This has been a rough and WONDERFUL week at work. We have been soooo busy selling cars here at Edwards Chevrolet in beautiful downtown Birmingham that I have worked late each and every night. Unable to join my friends, Darlene, Freita and Debbie at lunch I ate ate my desk at odd hours. It seemed like I was always with cutomers during the lunch hour. But thats ok, we are selling cars and thats what counts!!!! One day I decided that I would close the door and make a card or two with the scraps from my Birmingham Zoo birds page.  I always keep my bag stocked and ready to scrap on the run so this will be a great test.

This time I thought I'd share with you what you can complete in 20 minutes as long as you are prepared.

So I reached in my bag and pulled out the 3 of the scraps as you see below. All were leftovers from the Birmingham Zoo Birds page including the flowers. Note the red piece I embossed with the paisley folder knowing it would be the perfect size for a card and then placed it in the bag with the other scraps. I trimmed my papers and of course cut the card wrong so my fold is at the top of this card that fits in a standard A2 envelope.

I have always kept an inexpensive trimmer in my desk drawer so I pulled it out and trimmed away my jagged edges on the patterned pater. Then I attatched to the red and the two on the card.

Playing around with my leftover flower from the bird page, the only reasonable place to position was in top left corner, so I attached with medium glue dots.

I added my ribbon and decided that I needed to stamp a message on this card.... Yes I have a few standard acrylic stamps in my bag and chose Friends becasue this card is going to a special lady.

I positioned on my block so it wouldn't touch the bow. And got out my little stamp pad that is just the perfect size for my messenger bag.

I stamped a few time to make sure it was inked properly and to decide how hard to push to get the right look as I hadn't used this stamp yet.

After testing I applied it to the card. But it still needed something.... so I checked the bag and yup stickles.... works every time. I saw the perfect dragon fly in the bag that matched the card.... but he was bigger than the birds so I put that red dragonfly back, pouting the whole time. So stickled the tips of the flower.

By then I had spend 15 minutes of time working so I thought I better start cleaning up so I would be ready for the next customer. I used the hand sanitizer to clean both the block and the stamps along with some paper towels. I always keep these both at my desk and in my purse as you never know when you will need to use a hand sanitizer - or for what purpose.

Make sure you are generous with the sanitizer and keep rubbing and reapplying until you get all ink off. Be sure to blot on the paper as a double check.

And look how great the flower looks now. I used red and diamonds.

Hope you like how todays project turned out.... only 20 minutes and that included cleanup time, mistakes, adjustments and taking photos so you could see. Note this is my one hour challenge scrap from the Cricut MB, I just couldn't upload photos or post this on my blog at from work. So know the hubby thinks he should post a photo of my blog on his face so I would pay more attention to him. LOL

Ladies my handsome hubby is wonderful and would laugh at that comment.
