Gypsy Made Simple - Shaped Shower Card

Good morning! Well I had a baby shower to go to so I designed a shape card on my Gypsy just for the occasion.... and you know I made 2 just so I would be ready for the next boy baby shower! Join me today from start to finish as I design the card, cut it, put it together and even make a matching envelope on the video below.  I used my new We R Memory Keepers Envelope punch and I want to tell you I am in love! So easy. So go grab a cup of coffee get your Gypsy and let's get to work.

Now I know that was long but it had been so long since I visited with you I guess I just got a little chatty Kathy in me! LOL But you have to admit this is a very easy shape card and just as cute as can be. I think I will cut out a pink one too, just so I am ready!

Look how great the papers match and so wonderfully subtle.

Here is another close up and you can see a little more of the envelope here.

Here is the inside of the card and thanks to My Craft Spot's stamps set I have the perfect inside sentiment for the card.

I just love how nicely this card stands up too. Thank you for joining me today. I sure hope you enjoyed our little post and the you too get making some shape cards for all your occasions as they always seem to please the receiver as you just don't see these type of cards in the store.
Thank you for your sweet sweet words of encouragement. Your comments always inspire me to share with you! Have a blessed week.

Bunny Leprechaun

Hi Everyone,

Lisa from Lisa's Craft Room here to share my project this month. Since Easter is right after St. Patrick's Day, I thought I would make this cute bunny card. He is delivering eggs and a pot of gold. I got the image from Create a Critter, I sized him to 8", copied him and welded him to make the card. I then cut two layers, one in black and one in pink and adhered them to the base of the card. I used wire for his whiskers. I got the leprechaun hat from Paper Doll Dress Up, which is sized at 5 1/2", I used gold stickles to jazz it up. I made a little basket out of burlap by just adhering the sides with glue, the handle is jute. I used the stamp set called Hello Spring which is from Emma at My Creative Time for the eggs, the stamp set comes with those cute dies. I used pink and green ink to stamp on the eggs.

The pot of gold is also from Paper Doll Dress Up and that was cut at 2 1/2". I also added gold stickles on top for gold nuggets. I used pop dots to adhere it to the burlap basket.

Thank you Sheila for having me again. I enjoy my monthly projects :) I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. See you soon.

Easter Cards

Hello everyone! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS!  Today I am a guest designer here and over at CRICUT IS CLOSE TO MY HEART! It's always so much fun to share with lots of fellow crafters! Thank you, Sheila, for another opportunity!  Since Easter is quickly approaching,  I decided it was the perfect time to make some cards.  The Cricut cartridges I used: Close to My Heart Artiste and Easter Blessings (the CCR digital cartridge).  The cards are from Artiste and the images and phrases are from Easter Blessings.  Simple to create and embellish, I think they have great "curb appeal"! :-)

I love how the front of the card tucks in the slot.

Love this phrase and shadow!

This tag and pocket could be used for so many occasions!

All put together.

A close-up of the detail.

I'm showing this pic to show the shape of the card. I think this card is my favorite!

Thanks for stopping by today!

<CmptCdLr> 3.75 inches (real size off)
<Banner> .75 inches (real size off)
<BannerLr> .75 inches (real size off)
<Shield> 2 inches (real size off)
<ShieldLr> 2 inches (real size off)
<Crown> .75 inches (real size off)
<CrownLyr> .75 inches (real size off)
Supplies:
Black Chipboard
White Cardstock
Terrifically Tacky Tape
ATG Tape
Martha Stewart Scoreboard
Xacto Knife
Flower Ribbon
Circle Cutter (*George or Plantin Schoolbook could be used in place of this tool)
Pop Dots
Irock
Audrey Imagine Cartridge
Makeup Party Cartridge
Directions Setp by Step:
  1. Cut <CmpctCard> from black chipboard
  2. Cut <CmpctCard> from Audrey Patterned Paper
  3. Flip the image and cut <CmpctCard> from Audrey Patterned Paper
  4. Using ATG tape, adhere the Audrey paper to the chipboard
  5. Using an Xacto Knife, cut the chipboard cut and the Audrey cuts from <CmpctCard> along the seams. You will now have 3 pieces
  6. Cut 2 pieces of cardstock at 2 inches by 1.25 inches.
  7. Using Martha Stewart Scoreboard, score every ¼ inches on each one.
  8. Fold into an accordion firmly
  9. Cut 4 small strips of Terrifically Tacky Tape that are 1 ¼ inches long. Apply along outer spine of the scored paper on each side (on the 1 ¼ inch side).
  10. Glue the spine to the left hand cut and then glue the other side to the middle. Repeat for the other side.
  11. Using a Circle Cutter, cut the pages of the album (George or Plantin Schoolbook could be used to make these as well). First cut the black chipboard at 3.75 inches 4 times.
  12. Using Circle Cutter, cut Audrey paper at 3.75 inches 8 times- 4 with one pattern, 4 with another.
  13. Using ATG tape, adhere the Audrey paper to the Chipboard
  14. Cut 4 more strips of TTT at 1 ¼ inches and apply them to the spine for the inside pages.
  15. To conceal the accordion folds of the spine, cut 2 flowers off a ribbon and use TT to adhere them to the covers. Plain ribbon could be used as well.
  16. Cut <CmptCdLr> from Coordinating Audrey paper 2 time. Apply these cuts to the outside cover and the inside cover on the front and back.
  17. Cut <Shield> <ShieldLr> <Banner> <BannerLr> <CrownLyr> from coordinating Audrey Paper
  18. Cut <Crown> from silver cardstock.
  19. Layer shields and adhere to cover
  20. Adhere layers of crown
  21. Adhere layers of the banner
  22. Use pop dots to raise the banner off the cover.
  23. Adhere crown to banner
  24. Using an Irock, adhere rhinestones to the crown

Ballerina cards

Hi there!  This is Melody again from A Splash Here and There blog.   Thanks Sheila for having me over once a month.

Today I’m sharing a few 3 3/4 x 8 inches cards with basically the same images but each done up a little bit different.  Why the odd measurement you asked?  Well they were originally meant to fit into letter sized envelopes but as I decorated them they turned out to be a little (a lot, really) too bulky for them.  No worries though because I was able to create envelopes for these bulky cards.

This project was designed using the Silhouette Studio using images purchased from the Silhouette Store.  I started out by creating a base card measuring 7.49 x 8 inches (shown below in green).  Then I centered a perforation in the middle of the base, where I would want the card folded in half.  I created a mat for the front of the card (shown in pink) by sizing a rectangle 3.5 x 7.75 inches.  For the front panels (shown as the black layer), I used the internal offset feature and sized them at 3.25 x 7.5 inches.
Then I took this front panel (again, the size flood-filled in black), and sized the assorted ballerina silhouette (these came in a group!) by Jamie (Design ID #32539) to fit inside.
And here are the three different front panels in my Silhouette Studio, before sending them to my wide format printer and cutting with my Cameo. The registration marks on the screen are the same ones that the Cameo will use to cut where it needed to cut.
The background on the top one was flood-filled with the butterfly pattern by Olivia (Design ID #21069).  The background in the middle was flood-filled in black, while the same ballerina silhouette was printed in pink, as a sketch.  For the bottom one, I used the same ballerina silhouette done up in sketch, but left the background clear.  I used the Times New Roman font for the “SOAR” sentiment, and used the sketch feature to print it in black.  Below is a closeup of the front panels, after printing and cutting.
And here are closeups of the finished cards again, after embellishing them with premade ribbon rosettes, sticker gems, faux stitching with gel pens and embossed (Plum Blossoms CB folder) strips in coordinating colors.

Oops almost forgot to show you how I created the matching envelopes.  As I mentioned earlier, the cards ended up being too bulky for the letter sized envelopes I intended to put them in, so I found an envelope image called #10 string tie envelope by Lori Whitlock (Design ID #31274) and sized it to fit my cards.  I just deleted parts I didn’t need (string closure), used the offset feature on the perforation layer to create a boxy-type of envelope.  I used the Pristina font for the “For” and the “From” sentiments on front of the envelopes and then to coordinate, I used the ballet shoes image by Rivka Wilkins (Design ID #8971), but used it as a print only, in sketch.
Now there is plenty of room for each bulky card Winking smile.
Just had to add one more ribbon rosette Winking smile.
Hope you liked the project I shared with you all today.  Have a great week!
