My Memorial Day Pages

Well we had a blast on Memorial Day Weekend. We actually had family from Chicago come and visit so it was a really special time for all of us. My husband's sister Susan and her husband Greg spent a few days with us. We always stay with them when we go up north, so it was nice to reciprocate.

It was in the lower 90's so we spent the afternoon and evening in the pool just relaxing and spending time together. Our little pool hasn't been up for long so the water was really refreshing.

It was kind of funny because we had 2 floats and 3 recliners as well as noodles in the pool so we used up the space we had and laughed and laughed when one of us would 'accidentally' fall off a float. Good times for all of us. One of the things I love about living in Alabama is our long long summer. I love the beach and the pool.

I love that I was able to get on line and in a matter of just a few minutes I could produce these wonderful pages. You see I am so far behind in scrapping that I seem to be doing a lot of digital pages just to keep up. The good news is with the help of Studio J on the Close To My Heart Site I am able to keep up with this years events, and I love that. All you do is upload your photos, pick your layout and papers and just drag the photos onto the layout.... can't get much easier than that.

Look how sweet these pages are. The only thing I am missing is my grandson Justin in these photos as since he turned 9 he seems to shy away from the camera and I really don't like that. I will do better the next time as he is so handsome I don't want to miss him in any event. I love the little photo of my little Gavin with his goggles on don't you?

I chased my son around and got 5 photos of his back and he finally said here and posed for me! That's where Justin gets it! Two handsome guys just playing hard to get I guess! teehee

Sydney's Big Day

Well it was my Sydney's birthday last month so we had a little backyard birthday party for just the family and had a great time. She didn't want a birthday cake this year, saying she would prefer cupcakes, so that is what we had. The children amaze me how much fun they have in our backyard. The subdivision we live in is only 6 years old so there are no large trees or shade so they really have to use their imaginations. We had an above ground Intex pool last year but all that remains of that is the sand from last year!  The children wanted us to put the pool up be we are waiting for the association approval to put in a larger pool and that should arrive any time now. Then the sand will finally disappear. (We have installed our new pool since these photos were taken.) So we filled the little 6 inch kiddie wading pool and put that out there and the children had a great time. The great news is the sand remained there rather than all over my house!

 

Syd is at that age that all she wanted was clothes so of course that is what we all got her. She loved all her new goodies and we love watching her show them off.
I used my Close To My Heart site and put together these pages in less than 1/2 hour! It doesn't get easier than that and the quality... I mean just look at those photos. Don't you love it. It's like working with different sketches except you don't need to do any measuring or spend hours finding matching papers. With the Studio J program, you pick the paper packet you want, the layout, then the distribution of the paper and then all you need to do is drop in the photos. Easy peasy!

And look how nice these turned out. I love - love - love COMPLETED pages! There is just nothing nicer than that! I hope that you too get your pages done as each page is just filled with precious memories of the moments in your life.... the closest thing you can ever get to reliving those special times.

Easter Egg Hunt Layout

Easter was so much fun at our house this year. My grandchildren came over and we had a little Easter Egg hunt in our back yard. The children had a blast and filled up on all kinds of candy. All I can say is I am so thankful our pool isn't up yet and we had a huge pile of sand for the children to play in and work off a littl of that sugar!
I just have to show off my Easter Egg Hunt page layouts that I made with my Studio J Digital Scrap booking from Close To My Heart.... I am so excited as I was able to do this at work on my lunch hour!!!! Isn't that exciting?

You don't have to be tied down to your home computer at all, you just need to have access to a computer and your digital photos. After making this layout in just a matter of a few minutes, I know I am hooked. I love how I was able to just choose the layout and the papers and just drop my photos it. I made a few adjustments with the colors as I did want bright and cheerful papers just like the bright colors on an Easter egg. This was just too fun!

Now there is no charge for trying this out, you only have to pay if you print your photos and even at that they send you the page protectors with it. Time For Another Give Away & My Sunday School Christmas Pages

For the past few months… I have been playing with the digital software program My Memories Suite, a fun and easy to use program that allows me to create scrapbook pages in hardly any time at all. On this post you will see 11 pages that I created in no time at all!  It is hard to believe how easy it is to work this program and I am so excited that they gave me the opportunity to test this product and share it with you. This is definitely helping me catch up on my scrap booking! Now there is no way I will give up my Cricut but this sure helps get my pages done faster. My Memories Suite is a user friendly software program that will take any scrapbooker to a whole new level.

You just drop your photos into the photo box and it sizes the photo and crops it without touching a scissors or cutter, how awesome is that. These pages are pretty complete but I will add some glitter snowflakes that I cut from my Cricut and maybe a few embellishments and they are done! That simple... hubby says I should just slide the pages in the album and call it done.... we shall see.

I love to use my Cricut to create my cards, gifts and even scrapbook pages but I really love how simple it is to work this software. I have 40 years to scrap so this program is a God send for sure! I can quickly open up my album I'm working on, insert a new page, embellishment, change out the pictures, or even let the program fill the pages on it's own... I found that amazing. I actually did a 16 page album in less than 5 minutes filled with photos. All I had to do was journal! Now mind you that was just a test to see this program capabilities but I really could just print it and add a few embellishments. I like that I can just save my work and it will be right there waiting for me when I want to work on it when I have free time. I don't have to worry about putting it away it is right there for me when I turn my computer on.

 I was asked to review this program and give my opinion of what I thought of My Memory Suite, so here are some points that I found.

1. Super EASY to work with.
2. Great technical support. I called when I first installed the My Memories Suite software as I couldn't see the photos in my menu bar.... guess what I found out... my system was working on an old Java version and all I needed to do was download the new version and the software along with all software on my computer works better! They helped me every step of the way!
3. Vast array of designs, papers, embellishments and more to work with.
4. Fonts galore with shadow feature if you want.
5. The ability to download for free or purchase more digital papers, embellishments and designs whenever I want.
6. You Tube videos that help you along the way.
7. A blog that shares all kinds of ideas, offers support and has challenges for it's followers.

Isn't this fun. I just can't get over how easy it was to make these pages. All I did was drop in the photos and add a little journaling as the pages were already there and waiting for me.

These photos are of our annual Sunday School Christmas party. We always have a wonderful time with friends. We start the festivities with a devotion followed by great food and wide it up with a white elephant gift exchange. I like to take plenty of photos and am amazed at how much we change each year. I look so different as I have lost 35 pounds since these photos were shot.

My grandchildren just love our photo albums and can't understand what takes so long to put a page together. With only 1 day off per week and Sunday you know I don't get much scrapbooking done.
