A Dozen Cards Kept Me Busy Along With Stampede Make And Takes

Sometimes you just don't have access to your cutting machines or all of your supplies so you need to work with what you have on hand. Recently my mother had surgery and I went to her home to assist her while she was recovering. I spent the weekend and took my handy bag, some markers, colored pencils and some digital stamps and went to work creating in a very quiet setting. My father sat in the dining room with me and we talked while I colored and readied my stamps on the first day while mother slept soundly in another room.

 

Thought you would like to see some of the close ups of the artwork. Look at the little buttons on his jacket I used Glossy Accents on them and the Hi.

The little puppies were just adorable and can be used for just about any sentiment. After printing off my computer I colored him with markers and shaded him with colored pencils. Then I used Glossy Accents on the nose and eyes to make them look wet and then did a fussy cut to be able to just pop dot him on the card.

Yes I spent Friday afternoon coloring and preparing all these little pieces of digital art to make cards on Saturday. The following day she sat at the table with me and did a little sewing while I continued cutting and pasting and using the materials I had on hand. This is also another make and take and is a wonderful bookmark. I didn't do it the way they show as I like my book marker better!!

On Sunday my Mother felt well enough for a little ride to Joann's so she went to the fabric section and I went to the paper section of the store! LOL When I got back from the store I put together this little shaker card I had cut and ready for the Stampede in Dallas but never got put together as we ran out of time. I hope you enjoy this card... I just love shaker cards as they are so cool and really make the recipient feel special.

Making Envelopes With Your Martha Stewart Score Board

Now wouldn't you just love to get a card in this beautiful envelope? I started making these wonderful 5x7" cards and didn't have any envelopes to put it in. So I figured since I had one of the Marth Stewart Score Boards and never knew how to use that I better learn. I went looking saw it on someones YouTube video and thought if I don't know how to make many of you probably don't either so I did a couple minute video just to walk you through a real simple envelope.

Now I want you to know I did this for the first time on the video at the Dallas Stampede and it worked the very first time. EASY! So I made 2 of them one for each of my Monkey Slider Cards.

Digital Children's Easter Cards

Hello, these are the 8 Easter cards I made in Dallas for my granchildren. These were of the first digital cards I made and I tell you I was lucky that Melissa of Melissa Made was with me because without her I would have flunked digital cards!!! First I have to thank her for showing me the digitals at Tiddly Inks. I started with a couple of Freebies of which this is one and have since become a customer of theirs and have a mini collection of digital stamps. And yes, I am still using my Crayola markers that I spent $3.99 on so you can see I am getting my monies worth!

This is the first one I started cutting on and as you can see I cut it too narrow for the front of the card. Melissa came to the rescue and helped me by showing me that I needed to mat the stamp. She said because I made it so narrow I needed a little something more to make it look nice. So she suggested the flowers and we used skittles for the inside of them. Now this will make a great card for a little girl. Melissa reminded me just line with our Cricut cuts and the papers we use that it is all in the details.

We added either butterflies or flowers to each card and as you can see each of the bunnies has glitter on it's ttail. Isn't that just too cute. Oh, if you want to see a larger photo just click on it to see it enlarged.

Next I moved on to Digital Delights by Louby Loo and got this Freebie.... note their Freebies change from week to week. I learned bout them from Mary at Cardz TV as she does a feature once a week using digitals while making cards. These were a lot of fun to do and I used my Stickles to enhance these little eggs.

Aren't these just too adorable. I love these little Easter cards and they were soo easy to do. Inside each of the bunny eggs I used my computer to print You are Egg-ceptional! I know the children will love all of these brightly colored cards.

Then I took a regular A2 envelope and stamped the fronts with brightly colored Easter eggs with my CTMH stamps. Won't they be a fun card to receive?

Another Dallas Stampede Card!

We played a wonderful table game in Dallas. Pam of The Bug Bytes, Melissa of Melissa Made and Elizabeth of 217 Creations each designed, cut and prepared cards for someone else to put together at the Stamped. Well I liked my card so much that I cut 2 more using scrap paper just for myself. You can never have too many birthday cards!

This is the coolest card as children just love it! Everything they do is interactive so this card fits bill. It takes a little more time than a regular A2 card but very much worth the effort when you see the smile on the face of the person that you give it to.

Look at this little monkey, isn't he just too cute?

And the DCWV Animal stack is just perfect for this card design with the little monkey!!

This first video shows how to get ready for a crop or swarm, how to pack and what to pack to enable you to be productive while you are visiting and enjoying yourself. I was able to complete a 2 page layout, 2 Happy Birthday Cards, 2 Happy Birthday Spinner Cards, 2 Get Well Cards and 8 Easter cards at the Stampede as well as take an afternoon class with Teressa Collins and get a good start on a personal album! That is a lot considering all the play time I was able to get in! And I was able to do that because I took the steps in this video.

This second video is me racing against the clock. What you don't see is the little group of ladies that were passing the other slider card around and watching how to put this together. I did it in less than 10 minutes! Yeah which means my card fit with in the allotted time our little contest allowed! You see I was a little worried that the person that drew my card wouldn't be able to complete but I was able to do it. My First Digital Happy Birthday Card Made In Dallas

Well I finally made my first digital cards. I actually downloaded them and placed them on card stock in my office during my lunch. I found this cute little stamp at Tiddly Inks it was one of their freebies. Then I used my little Crayola Crayon Markers that I picked up for $3.99 and colored them in. I have to admit that it was very difficult as I had so few colors to choose from! I think I just may invest in some better markers for the future!

When I got to Dallas I used my glossy accents on his little nose and the balloons and let it dry overnight. I used my Creative Memories oval cutters to cut out 'Bo' and the scrap papers was little paw prints that Melissa had left over from one of her beautiful projects.  Then I was ready to put it together.

See how easy that was. I really like how you can make a card this fast and it looks really adorable.  I learned a lot making this card. I decided that I like the background filled rather than today's oval which is what you saw yesterday. I thought I had to cut it out so it was really great having Melissa there for the next card to show me how to make this adorable card look even nicer! I am showing this as you need to know we go through learning processes also. That is the beauty of having a blog to learn from, But even better you could have a friend to show you the ropes. The beauty of the learning process is you still have wonderful cards to give to the people you love. I gave this to my daughter in law for her birthday as she loves dogs and I knew she would just love this card.

Working With Nestabilities - At The Dallas Stampede

Isn't this just too cute? I am at the Stampede in Dallas Texas and Melissa is teaching me how to use Nestabilities. After using these and seeing the wonderful results I can't believe I have never used them before! I love the embossing after you have made your cut as it has such a wonderful finished look to it.

This is also my first attempt at digital stamping, and this is the 2nd card I made.... tomorrow you will see the first. This cute little stamp is a Freebie at Tiddly Inks and I would highly recommend that you give a Freebie a try as you may get hooked! I even bought a couple after trying the freebie and it was very reasonable. I just downloaded the file to my computer and from the Microsoft Word just hit Insert Art, then from file and it went right on my sheet. I then sized it, copied and place it on the sheet and printed it on card stock it was so easy. Melissa at Melissa Made suggested I use Power Point but I don't have that at work so I used what I had on my lunch hour. Easy.

Now don't laugh but all I keep at work is a set of Crayola Markers that cost me a whole $3.99 and I used those to color little 'Bo' in! Hey, it worked so don't laugh it just goes to prove you can use what you have without spending big bucks!

This card turned out so nice, I just love it. As a matter of fact I printed 4 more little Bo's to color and print as I need more Birthday cards.

This last video is just me finishing the card.... you see I didn't have this awesome paper but Melissa came to the rescue with that gorgeous Echo Park paper and it is just perfect for this card!

A Little Competition In Dallas At The Stampede

I did it!!! Yes I am so excited I finished my layout in the time alloted. Four of us ladies that became friends on the message board and through blogging decided before the Stampede to have table games. So Pam drew names and we had to design and create a layout to put together in Dallas within a thirty minute window using the other persons photos. The completed layout would be gifted to the owner of the photos in Dallas.  I got Pam's name and she sent me photos as well as the web address of a bird sanctuary in India. I learned a little more about the country Pam came from than I knew before this game. Each lady also learned a little as we were told what the photos were about. I even prepared journaling but Pam prefers her own handwriting in her books just as I do.

So we turned the video cameras on and went to work creating. Now you can feel a part of the Dallas excitement along with us if you take a few minutes and watch first the make ready at home in the first video and then the second and final video we are right there in the midst of the swarm. The only rules were to prepare but not assemble and all you had to do was complete your layout in 30 minutes. So you were competing with time.

This first video is the make ready and packing for the swarm. All we were required to do is a single page layout but I wanted a special page for Pam and went with a 2 page spread.

In this video we are here in Dallas and you can hear all the noise in the background. I am in a room with 200 ladies and we are busy working.

In this last video I finish my pages and each of us share our pages with you! I am just so excited to share these ladies talent with you today.

This is a photo of the finished page minus the journaling that Pam will do herself. I really like the way it turned out.

Close up ot the alligator and notice how different the grass looks after inking and hiding the glitter area a little.

And finally a closeup of the crane. I used pop dots to give him dimension. He is the stork from New Arrivals.
