Ahoy! It's a Boy!

Hello everyone and welcome to the 2nd Thursday here at She's a Sassy Lady! This is Java Jen from JAVA JEN CREATIONS and it's my pleasure to share some decorations that I made for a friend's baby shower! Thank you, Sheila, for another opportunity to do this! It's always a privilege!

Here are the pics of our nautical-themed shower:

The banner shape is from the Art Philosophy cartridge. The other nautical images are from the Lite cartridge Splish Splash. The font for "ASHER EDAN" is from Art Deco. 

We punched holes in the mason jar lids to make unique drink containers and made tags, (also from Splish Splash), to decorate the jars.

CCR & Artbooking To Make An Easy Card

Hope you had a GREAT Labor day weekend. Wasn't it great to have a couple of days off to enjoy with family. Well it was a little wild around here. We had our grandchildren over and just a great time of celebration and fun in the pool.
I made this cute little card using the Artbooking cartridge from Close To My Heart and George and it was just as easy as could be. Just follow the following video so you too can learn to make any A2 card into a shape card.

See, wasn't it easy? I just love shape cards and this one is just as cute as can be. Now you need to give it a try too.

This is what the card looks like standing up and as you can see it is  in the shape of the little Giraffe. I used the real dial size for the giraffe but not on the lion.

I actually got out my Peachy Keen stamps for his cute little face using black ink.

This is the stamp I used from CTMH, it is called Be Still.

Good Times Ahead Using Art Philosophy And CCR

Good Times Ahead!!! I just love this card but I have to tell you although I made it was designed by Aaron or at Booth 32.  She sent me this card and I liked it so much I bought the workshop that had all the little goodies in it to make. Sadly I have to report that you can no longer purchase this Workshop On The Go from Close To My Heart as they are a limited quantity item. I bought mine last year and then my Dad became very ill and was unable to use it.... Now I wish I bought more! So please if there is a limited quantity item that you are wanting order while quantities last. I hurried up and ordered my Christmas Card kit today!!!

 

Now wasn't that easy? I cut out all the little card set for my party and placed them in little baggies so each of the ladies will have this wonderful card to take home. I have to tell you I am really excited about this party as it is our first card marathon. Each lady is encouraged to bring at least 2 card sets of 8 card packets! I have actually made 4 cards! Fun-Fun-Fun!

Have A Dog Gone Good Day!

Good day! I hope you are having a wonderful day today. I am so excited that I finally had a little time to play in the scrap room and get a little work done.  I prepared this little card to share with you today using my Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cart and the little Bow Wow stamp set. I stamped the little doggie image on some scrap paper and then did a little fussy cutting. To finish him up I just colored in his collar and little tongue. Isn't he just too cute?

Here is what the complete card looks like. As you can see it has plenty of detail with the extra stamping I did and the little bit of embossing on the background paper.

Now wasn't that just as easy as can be? I love to try new techniques, and this one was a new one for me. And I love the shape of the card too. The Art Philosophy cart make it so easy to make a card. I just love it.

Sympathy Card Using My Gypsy & Expression

Good morning, I am so happy to be back with you today and able to share with you... we had a great vacation and it is good to be home and back in my craft room. I can not believe how many Sympathy cards I have had to use as of late. So I decided I better replenish my stash because nothing is worse than stopping to make a card when you are an emotional mess.

I also decided that it was time that I used up some of my stacks that were almost finished as I have so much paper that I really need to use what I have on had before I purchase more and you know I like you am always ready to get more paper!

Now wasn't that easy. I used the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge for my base card along with Wild Card for the words and look how beautiful this turned out. Easy Peasy! And the cards are so pretty.

 

 This is a close up of the front of the card. I just love the cut and it gives you a little peek to the inside.

Here is the inside of the card. I used the CTMH Card Chatter-Sympathy stamp set and I just love this sentiment. There are many more to choose from but this is more like what I would say.

Well I hope you can use what I shared in today's post to make a few sympathy cards for your stash. I know it is a subject we would all like to forget but we can't. These cards are too often hard to make and these cards should give you a strong idea of where to start.

Happy 98th Birthday, Gma!

Hello everyone! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS and I am so excited to share some projects with you this month! Thank you, Sheila, for another opportunity!
Recently my Gma, (short for Grandma), turned 98 and we celebrated in grand style! I was in charge of the decorations and I had so much fun doing them! My Gma's sister turned 96 the day after her so we celebrated her too! I made a birthday banner, Chip Decor names and themed centerpieces.

I used the Country Life cartridge for the images in this centerpiece because it was perfect to represent her growing up years!

The main table that Gma and her sister Lucille sat at.

A Little Tip

Hello! Leah from Paperblossoms here and first I want to say I am SO sorry for being so late with this post!! It totally slipped my mind and I didn't even realize it was Thursday until a bit ago...oh dear :)  I do hope you'll forgive me. I do have a little tip I wanted to share with you today though and I hope it helps someone. I sure have found it to be a great time saver and makes crafting more fun.

The older Close To My Heart stamp sets that coordinate with the Cricut from the Art Philosophy cartridge don't give you the page number of where the cuts are located. Thankfully they have changed that with the Artise stamp sets. So it dawned on me one night while crafting that I should find the cuts in the handbook and write them on the stamp set case so that I don't have to go hunting everytime I want to cut something!  It has saved me so much and time and makes the time I do have to craft more enjoyable.

In case you have these stamp sets and would like a list to label your sets with and not have to hunt for each one here they are for you!

Rough around the edges!

Hi everyone - it's Karon, from Karon's Krafty Korner, for my monthly visit to you all here at She's A Sassy Lady.  Thanks for putting up with me each month :-)

June seems to be the months for birthdays around here, so I have a birthday card to share with you.

For my card, I decided to have a go at a little shabby chic.  All my layers have been distressed with a Tim Holtz Distressing Tool and then I inked all the edges with Tea Dye distress ink.

The main layers are from a Momenta 6 x 6 pad called Rendezvous.  The rose topper is from Moonlighting Designs by Mary.  It is from a set of 8 called French Flowers.

I decided to add some rolled flowers,  the flowers are from the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge, scallop 1 on page 13.  The leaves are from the Art Philosophy cartridge, page 43.

I added a little bit of lace on that second layer to give it a more vintage feel.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms called Hooray for Birthdays.

This was really fun to make and once I had decided on the papers, didn't take too long to pull together.

For the inside I used the papers from the front and the little rose stamp is from a See D's stamp set called Springtime Swirls.

Mother Mini Album

Hello - this is Lori here filling in for Sheila today.  I made this mini album to celebrate Mom's for Mother's Day.

I started out with a chipboard album from Michaels.  One side of each page is covered with burlap. I flipped every other page so I had two sets of burlap pages together, and two paper-covered chipboard pages together (plus the covers).

I grabbed the phrase "Home is where your Mom Is" from the Silhouette Store and cut it out in pink and light green.  I made an offset shadow and cut that out in hot pink cardstock.  I layered some 3D flowers from the cricut cartridge CTMH Art Philosophy with some recollections flowers and butterflies from Silhouette Store.

I tied ribbon from my stash to the rings.

I wanted to keep the inside plain.  I painted hot pink paint to all of the page edges.  I inked some cardstock squares (for photos) and added a butterfly and crocheted flower to these pages.

The next set of pages were covered in fun papers and hot pink photo mats.  Again I used a paper butterfly and crocheted flower to accessorize.

I like to make a pocket in each of my albums, usually towards the beginning or the end.  I added "Mother" from the Silhouette Store.  The pink photo mat on the opposite page has another butterfly and crocheted flower.

I love making mini albums to give as gifts.  I have a special mom in mind for this one :)

Birthday Party Decorations

Happy Thursday, everyone! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS and it's my turn to share here and over at CRICUT IS CLOSE TO MY HEART! As you know, if you read my post from last week, our Sethy turned 2 so I just had to make a few decorations to add to his party!  I used the Art Philosophy, Boys Will Be Boys and Birthday Bash Cricut cartridges.

These are from Birthday Bash and are cut at 10.5".

The pennant shape is from Art Philosophy. The train and truck are from Boys Will Be Boys. I made the rosettes by hand using my scoreboard.

Our daughter-in-law made an adorable race track cake that was a big hit!

Here is the birthday boy eating one of his favorite treats: Watermelon! :-)
