Gypsy Made Simple Project - Summer Watermelon

Hi ya everyone!
  Melissa here from Melissa Made to just share a quick card that I wanted to link for Sheila's weekly Gypsy Made Simple tutorial where she teaches all kinds of wonderful things on how to use that Fabulous Little Lady we call the Gypsy!  She is asking that everyone simply attach a project made with the Gypsy to the linky right HERE.  This will help others who are beginning to use the Gypsy not only learn but also become inspired by what it can do.  Sadly, I lost a very close friend last week and that was my Expressions - my mat is NOT feeding properly.  Alas, no worries as I do have an Imagine and I'm learning so much.  I used Doodlecharms (watermelon cut), Straight From the Nest (summer cut) and Best Friends (paper patterns).  I designed this on my Gypsy first using the Imagine application but this can be applied to an Expressions or a Baby Bug.  This is an A2 size card (4.25x5.5 inch).  This little card took no time and now I have a simple entry!!  Don't forget to enter yours too!  Stop on by to Melissa Made for more fun projects!

Gypsy Made Simple - Altered Tri-Fold Card

Tweet, just too Tweet. I just love making cheerful cards don't you? And this is easy all I had to do is use the template from last week, (click HERE for link) pick out some fresh art and a few clicks and this card was ready to cut. So grab your coffee turn on your Gypsy and let's get to work. We will revisit last weeks card and alter it for a fresh new look. Easy Peasy!

In this video we work with the template, add the artwork and names the various pages and make our layers for each component to the card.

This is what the file looks like two up. Notice after making the card I changed the direction of the bird as I think it will look better facing the opposite direction. So if you download my file this is what you will get; a  Tweet Tri-Fold Card 2 up.

See how I named the different pages, all that is left is for me to add Tweet on the last pages. Easy, just touch the page and hold it down a screen will pop up for you to tap rename and just add what you want.

In this video we will put the card together from scoring to adhering each piece on. Very simple to follow along.

School Projects

School projects are so much fun but even more so when 3 of us get together and mix in craft elements a Gypsy and a Cricut.... Now that adds up to a lot of fun!!! Meet my little Sydney, she is in first grade and needed to complete her school project on Spider Webs. Her teacher wanted to give the children an opportunity to feel different textures.

Well here I am after my Sunday nap with Sydney (don't laugh at my funky sleep hair). Every Sunday after church I change into my grubs and take a little nap and I love it after a hard week, you should try it as it is really refreshing. Oops back to the project Sydney was busy writing facts about webs on the poster board.

The project was started with Sydney spraying glitter on the spider web. The big web had a heavy texture to it as it was made of felt and was actually a table runner that we stapled on the poster board. This made the web glisten. The two little black items on the grass are spiders from Doodle Charms.

Then Sydney got the white web material that you see all over during Halloween and spread that out to also apply to the poster.

The ribbon was also a black lace material woven in the shape of spider webs. Jennifer used my pink ATG to adhere the white webs to the board.

Sydney learned how to use the Xyron by running a spider through it and then we place a string on the glued area and covered it with the other side of the spider so that it had a front and back. In the photo above I am showing Sydney how to use tweezers to place the google eyes on it.

Here she is placing the little google eyes on him, she put two on each side.

Here is the poster almost completed. After looking at it she decided she needed a bug as she learned the purpose of the web is to catch bugs for the spider to eat.

She used skittles for the top of the bug.

And Mr. Spider says yummy lunch is served!!! YUCKY!

We finished the afternoon off with some SPOOKY ORANGE hot chocolate with plenty of frothy whip cream on the top. It looked like a witches brew with the steam coming up!
