Valentine's Mugs

Happy Thursday, everyone! Java Jen here from Java Jen Creations to share a few Valentine's mugs I have made! Some I have sold and some I have given to friends and family! Thanks, Sheila, for letting me share here today! I am so hooked on doing vinyl on mugs and the possibilities are really endless! I've made lots more but here are just a few of my favorites!

Howdy!  Adrienne from Eagle Canyon Arts here as a guest designer for Miss Sheila the Sassy Lady.  It is such an honor to be included in this talented design team.  Thank you, Sheila! 

Heartstrings is the name of this terrific Workshop on the Go (WOTG) Cardmaking Kit (G1090) from Close To My Heart for Valentine's Day cards.  It makes 15 cards of 3 different styles.  Using the included stamps, the possibilities for variety and creativity are as unique as the person making the cards.

That's what I like about these kits. - while the underlying design is the same, changing a sentiment or ink color, adding distressed edges or embellishments; even using the opposite side of the paper than what is shown in the design can give each card a unique "look" for that special person.

Different ink colors, distressed edges and "flipping" the paper for unique looks on each card individualizes a "stock kit" idea here.

The stamp set that comes with this kit has many different sentiments that can be used inside each card.  It's nice the sayings are versatile and "work" both as salutations and inside greetings. There is still time to make some of these great cards for Valentine's Day.  While I was making these cards, I also thought they would make great cards for other occasions, using some different embellishments and sentiments.  Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentines Day Card

Hello everyone!!!  I hope you all are having a wonderful Valentines Day!!!

It's Danita from danitasdesigns.blogspot.com. Today I'm sharing with you the card I made for my hubby for Valentines Day.

How is was made:

The bear is an image from the Silhouette store.

I used a 5x7 white card base and used a dauber to add the red color to it. The ink is Memento Lady Bug.

Next I cut the next layer in red at 5 x 6.5. Then another layer using the "Smitten" cardstock from K & Company (5 x 6.25). Then I cut a 6.5 diagonal strip to go across this and a .50 inch strip  to go on the bottom and added some lace trim.

Then I centered my little bear in the middle, added a sentiment and white Candi dots.  That's it!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day. everyone!! Java Jen here from JAVA JEN CREATIONS and I'm so tickled to share with everyone here and everyone over at CRICUT IS CLOSE TO MY HEART! I made some photo props for my daughter to use in taking Valentine pics of our grandsons and some friends! They turned out so good - but the stars of these pics are, most definitely, our grandsons! They just melt my heart! Sorry if I'm gushing here, but they just complete my world!! We are truly blessed! I'll post a few pics and then give some details about what cartridges, cuts and sizes were used to make the props. Remember, you can click on the pictures to see them bigger!  By the way, our daughter took these amazing pictures!

Now for the crafty details:

The "BE MINE" banner base is from Cricut Art Philosophy - CTMH and is cut at 7.5"

"BE MINE" letters are from Cricut Art Deco and are cut at 3.25"

The hearts are vary in size from 3.5" - 9.5" and are cut from Cricut George and Basic Shapes and Cricut American Alphabet

The Heart Balloons are from Cricut Create a Critter and are cut at 8.07" and 10.9".

Valentine's Day Projects

Hello everyone. I hope this New year is finding you in good health and happiness. It's been great for me so far.

For my first post as a Design Team member, I decided to go with a Valentine's day theme. I hope you like it. It's a mini Valentine Cone Wreath with a matching Spin Card. rThey are really easy to make.

Let's start with the card. I used cardstock from the Martha Stewart Key and Heart paper collection.

Cut your cardstock 4.5 inches wide and 5.5 inches high (this will be your card front) and cut your ribbon at 4.75 inches.

The Card

I used my Cameo to cut the card base at 9 inches wide and 5.5 inches high. The hole is 2.5 inches in diameter. At this point you will also want to go ahead an cut out the facing for the card.



Next I cut out 3 hearts at 1.75 inches and folded them in half. Then you will glue each folded half to the other. Before you glue the last one, insert your twine. For this card I used twine cut at 4.5 inches. Using the card as a guide, trace a circle onto the front of the card. I used an Xacto knife to cut out the circle. Don't worry about it being perfect it will be covered up with the facing. Glue the twine down to the backside of the front.

Using my ATG I attached the front to the card base, glued on the facing and embellished with rhinestones. Finish off you card with a sentiment of your choosing. The card will actually lay flat, you may want to crease the hearts with your fingers a little to help it along.

                                         

The Mini Cone Wreath

Start out by cutting a 12 x 12 double sided sheet of cardstock into ?? strips. I then cut the strips into 2.5 inch squares. This will give you 16 squares.

Choose which side you want to show on the outsised then form the squares into cone shapes and glue together.

For this size cone, I decided a 2 inch circle would be best suited for the base. I used a punch, but you can use whatever you wish. Remember, it doesn't have to be perfect as no one will see it. I drew .50 inch and .25 inch circles in the center to help me line up the cones. I think you should use a glue gun on low heat for this project. It is paper but can get a little weighty. Just start gluing the cones down around the circle. Be sure to line them up evenly.

For the next step I glued a .50 inch square of styrofoam in the middle of the cones to support the hearts that I added. Without the styrofoam, there would be a deep in the middle. You can actually fill this with whatever you like, some people even add more cones to even it out.

On the back side I added a 4.5 x 4.5 inch square and glued on some ribbon for a hanger.

Add the hearts and other embellishments and finished the card to suit your taste.

LOVE Notes Container

Happy Thursday, everyone!! Java Jen here from Java Jen Creations to share a fun Valentine project! Thanks, Sheila, for another opportunity! I used the February Club Ruby Designers kit for all my paper and embellishments. Sometimes kits are a great way to bring a project together quickly.  If you are not familiar with Club Ruby and would like to be, click HERE! Lots of great stuff going on over there! :-)

Here is my finished project:

Now for all the details:

I used an 18 oz. oatmeal container:

Cut a 6 5/8" x 12" piece of pink card stock

Wrap the pink paper around the container and adhere. There will be a small gap, but we'll be covering that up next.

Cut a 1.5" x 6.75" strip to adhere over the gap. This will be the front of your container.

On the opposite side of where the previous strip was adhered, cut another strip of the same paper, sized at 2.5"x6.75" and adhere it.  I hope this pic shows how I positioned these 2 strips. It's kind of hard to show in one pic. 

Cut a 3.25"x9" strip of another coordinating paper. Use a border punch on the edges before adhering.

Adhere around the container, centered on the front.

Thread some ribbon through holes made with border punch and tie a bow.

Adhere sticker letters to spell "LOVE NOTES" centered on front.  I outlined them with a black gel pen to define them and added some stitching with a white gel pen.

Using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, I cut various shapes that coordinated with the "Mad About You" stamp set from CTMH.  I put brads in the middle of 3 of the shapes.

Cut a 3.5" circle - (I used George and Basic Shapes) - to put on the lid.

Cut a 2" scalloped rectangle from Art Philosophy to mount on the matching chipboard shape from the CTMH bundle - stamp "Happy Valentine's Day and add 2 sticker gems. Mount on the lid.

Add some stitching with a black gel pen.

Add the embellishments around the container to finish it off!
