Sassy Lady Is Always On The Lookout For Good Designers

Shes A Sassy Lady is always looking for a few guest designers. With over 1500 strong followers I want to continue to offer new fresh ideas to them.

If you look at things a little different from the rest... always wanting to improve or change?
Or if you take photos to use on a layout you have already designed in your minds eye?
Or if you love to show people how to make those  projects?
Then you are just what Shes A Sassy Lady needs!

If you are interested, please send a link to your blog along with your name to macsheilam@gmail.com. If you don't have a blog that's fine too then just send a photo to my email. I will teach you how to post on a blog and if you want how to start your own blog.

I can't wait to see your special style and beautiful projects and designs. You need no prior designer experience. Now don't forget to post a link to your blog if you are willing to share at least 1 project per month or email me a photo at macsheilam@gmail.com.

Sassy Lady Gets A Make-Over!

All kidding aside this is a real photo from the Stampede in March of Melissa of Melissa Made, Pam of The Bug Bytes and myself having a great time. But the big Make Over is happening tonight through the wee hours of the morning! Our very talented Aymee Gandy of A Scraphappy Southernbelle has put this blog under construction and is giving it a whole new updated look!!!!
I have been so blessed with such talented ladies on our team that have turned into great friends. Pam of The Bug Bytes and myself (I picked the papers!!! LOL) did the original She's A Sassy Lady design. At the time it was the state of the art for blogs. Gorgeous to the eye and clean and easy to read. Well two years has past and it is time for a Make Over and updating with the times. Our very own Aymee Gandy didn't go unnoticed by the Sassy Lady as she changes her blog with the seasons so I started asking questions and purchased a Blog In The Box Kit from Zoe Pearn designs. Let me tell you I was so excited as it is GORGEOUS. Well I tried and tried to figure it out and finally talked to Aymee about it. She was moving so that was out of the question. I then approached Pam.... never asking her to do for me but checked out how she would feel if it were changed since she did the original design and she said it needed an update! So I put it on the back burner and asked Aymee if she wouldn't mind and guess what......

WE ARE OFFICIALLY
UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!!
THANK YOU AYMEE

I don't know what I would have done without these two talented ladies! Well you are in for a treat as through the night the format will change and you will see a wonderful - wonderful updated look that I just love.... teehee I picked out the papers again! Aymee did a wonderful job and we will be tweaking until we are happy with the finished look. I am sure you will find it is easy to read and pleasing to your eyes. And the good news is that all the designer blogs will continue to be featured for you to have their wonderful designs right at your finger tips!!!

Now be sure to grab a new blinkie with our new design and wear it proudly on your blog and all you have to do is click on it and you will come right back to She's A Sassy Lady for that inspiration along the way! We are looking forward to hearing what you think of this wonderful - wonderful design and I hope you all leave a comment to let Aymee know what you think of her hard work!

Blog Structure Remains User Friendly

Thought I would share once again with you my tabs at the top of my blog. I have filed all projects under the various tabs for your use. You will find Gypsy Files and all Gypsy Made Simple Tutorials under the Gypsy Tab. All cards under the Card tab, and layouts under Layouts and so on. I have tried to make it easy to find anything and everything you want with just the click of your mouse. You have hundreds of designs available to you neatly filed away.
I am taking off the little tab on the right that lists all the Gypsy Made Simple projects so that our designer blogs are more prominently featured as they are so important to me. I will continue to run 2 to 3 weeks of Gypsy Challenges for you so you can easily link up your project for all to see as well as have those files readily available to you.
If you have any questions or suggestions please leave a comment or you can email me at ShesASassyLady@gmail.com as I would love to hear from you.
Thank you for stopping by today. I sure hope you have a better understanding of how She's A Sassy Lady is set up to serve you and come by more often! Thanks again for your sweet sweet words of encouragement.

How to Download, then Upload the Gypsy Files to Your Gypsy Device

I get questions all the time about downloading and uploading files to your Gypsy, this should help you.
  1. Select the file you would like to download by clicking on the link in the either within the post you are reading or under the Gypsy tab at the top of my blog. Download file to your computer. (I like to keep all of my Gypsy Files together in their own folder.)
  2. Connect your Gypsy Design Device to your computer using the USB computer cord included with your Gypsy. Open up Cricut Sync.
  3. When you have reached the screen that says “File” and “Help” along the top (you may have to update your Gypsy first), select the tab on the screen that says “Gypsy Projects.”
  4. Click on the green button that says “Add Projects.” A screen will pop up asking you for the location of the file.
  5. Locate the file you downloaded to your computer, select it, and select “Open”. The file will now be uploaded to your Gypsy Device.
  6. Exit out of Cricut Sync, disconnect your Gypsy from your computer, and then open the file on your Gypsy like you normally would. Enjoy!

School Projects

School projects are so much fun but even more so when 3 of us get together and mix in craft elements a Gypsy and a Cricut.... Now that adds up to a lot of fun!!! Meet my little Sydney, she is in first grade and needed to complete her school project on Spider Webs. Her teacher wanted to give the children an opportunity to feel different textures.
Well here I am after my Sunday nap with Sydney (don't laugh at my funky sleep hair). Every Sunday after church I change into my grubs and take a little nap and I love it after a hard week, you should try it as it is really refreshing. Oops back to the project Sydney was busy writing facts about webs on the poster board.

This is her Mommy, my daughter Jennifer helping.
The project was started with Sydney spraying glitter on the spider web. The big web had a heavy texture to it as it was made of felt and was actually a table runner that we stapled on the poster board. This made the web glisten. The two little black items on the grass are spiders from Doodle Charms.
Then Sydney got the white web material that you see all over during Halloween and spread that out to also apply to the poster.
The ribbon was also a black lace material woven in the shape of spider webs. Jennifer used my pink ATG to adhere the white webs to the board.
Sydney learned how to use the Xyron by running a spider through it and then we place a string on the glued area and covered it with the other side of the spider so that it had a front and back. In the photo above I am showing Sydney how to use tweezers to place the google eyes on it.
Here she is placing the little google eyes on him, she put two on each side.
Here is the poster almost completed. After looking at it she decided she needed a bug as she learned the purpose of the web is to catch bugs for the spider to eat.
Here is Sydney working my Gypsy Woman!!!
She used skittles for the top of the bug.
Close up of her beautiful face, she looked up just as I clicked.
Our completed bug! Isn't he handsome?
And Mr. Spider says yummy lunch is served!!! YUCKY!

We finished the afternoon off with some SPOOKY ORANGE hot chocolate with plenty of frothy whip cream on the top. It looked like a witches brew with the steam coming up!
Well I hope you enjoyed today's family project, we sure enjoyed having you in our home. Thanks for your sweet words of encouragement, I know Sydney will be thrilled with your comments!

Make Sure Cricut Blade Housing Is Clean

Clean your blade housing or it will not clean properly. I just messed up a cut as my blade housing was filled with junk. I tried salvaging my flowers and the cut by lueing the pieces I even tried mod podge and it was still a bad cut. So I cleaned the housing area by taking it out and pushing the blade down and all this garbage came out.

As you can see I was ready to change the blade and I thought I would take a test run on the cricut... viola it cut just fine!

Now I just have to see it I can put together this project without another little fiasco! I always have a hard time with light weight paper.... so we shall see.

Hope this is of help to you and it saves you from tearing up a project like I just did. Have a great day.

Special Card For A SPECIAL Family

This card I made is for me to tell you of a special little boy Sawyer and his family that is so dear to my heart... You see Sawyer needs a miracle, he needs a new liver as the one he has is failing. I am showing you this little card made of many components that we can run to the store and just purchase and easily put together.... we cut, we glue and we embelish to make it look pretty and we feel a sense of accomplishment when we have the completed project as these photos show.
But let's face it often times we are totally helpless to help those we love... this is one of those moments. The photos are here just to keep you reading, but the letter I share is from Sawyers mother and we can all identify with the cry of her heart...
This is the letter from Sawyer's Mom...

First of all, I want to thank you all for your love, support and prayers. They mean more to us that I can adequately express. Times have been difficult, God is seeing us through these times, He is our Comforter and Refuge.
We have had a lot of information to process since Sawyer had his MRA and GI scopes. Both of these tests revealed what is going on with Sawyer, and it's a lot. The MRA showed that Sawyer's once narrowed portal vein is now completely occluded, no longer allowing blood to flow. This has caused his portal hypertension to get much worse. Because of lack of blood flow in this area, Sawyer has a massively enlarged spleen, numerous varices (when these rupture they cause major GI bleeds), his liver is smaller than it should be, his liver is not able to keep up with Sawyer's growing body, it is not properly making the properties that clot blood, his platelets are dangerously low, and his PT/PTT are extended, meaning it takes his blood longer than it should to clot.
For the longest time we have been praying for a miracle for Sawyer, we prayed so hard, putting all our trust in whatever God's will is for Sawyer, asking, sometimes begging for God to heal Sawyer. Now more than ever, we are praying for a miracle. Sawyer's doctors in Atlanta are listing him for another liver transplant, it is the only way for Sawyer to get better, he NEEDS a new liver, portal vein, and IVC. Sawyer is a very sick little boy, he needs a miracle. I believe with all my heart that this is God's plan for Sawyer. I believe Sawyer will be healed after his second transplant, the doctors do too. His Dad and I believe, without a doubt, that God is in complete control, we put all our hope and faith in Jesus Christ alone. We ask that you pray along with us...for the perfect liver for Sawyer, for his physical healing, and for God to be Glorified through every situation.
Our hearts are heavy, this is not easy.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers! Please, please, please pray for Sawyer and our family...more than ever!
We are clinging to God's Word and trusting!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
In HIS love,
Signed by Sawyer's Parents

As I said this is a SPECIAL REQUEST from our hearts, PLEASE PRAY FOR LITTLE SAWYER.
And if you could pass this request on to someone you know who prays please do! Please feel free to link this request to your blog and maybe just maybe we will have people all over the world joining us in prayer for a miracle for little Sawyer.
