Hello.....Valentine!

Hi Everyone!  It's Sonya from Sonya's Paper Trail and I am sharing a Valentine's Day card with you today.  I have been trying to use my Copic markers more this year, so no better time to break them out then when making Valentines!  

Check out this sweet card:

 

I started off by using two scraps of patterned paper from the Echo Park "Love Story" 6 by 6 paper pad to create my background.  I stamped the sentiment at the bottom using an older CTMH stamp set called "Whooo's Your Valentine". The image of the girl and "Hello" are from My Favorite Things Stamps "Best Friends" stamp set.  I colored the image with Copics, then added a few Stickles to her bow and flower.  Instead of stamping on a boring shape...I cut out a heart with a mat using my Cameo and used that to stamp the image on.  I inked the edges and added a few pearl accents.  The best tip I can give you from making this card....that crinkle ribbon?  Yes, it is indeed cute, but I struggle sometimes with how to use it with much success.  If you straighten it out, it looses some pizzazz, but if you leave it bunched up, it doesn't stick well using really any adhesive I tried.  When this happens, I go a bit "old school" and break out my hot glue gun!   Yep, that did the trick!  Just a thin line of hot glue and gently press down the crinkle ribbon and you get a nice result.  Be careful, though....the ribbon is thin and that glue can get HOT!

November Holiday Card Share....a happy shopper!

Hi Everyone...it's Sonya from Sonya's Paper Trail and I'm happy to be sharing my monthly dose of holiday card inspiration with you all today.  Were you ever a collector of the fun little Studio G stamps?  I know I have a lot of them on hand, including the image I used on this card:

 

The stamp was a small, wood mounted Studio G stamp that I'm pretty sure I grabbed in the check out line of Michaels a long time ago.  The cute little stamp had never seen ink before I made this card--what a shame!  

The papers I chose all come from the Doodlebug "Home for the Holidays" six by six paper pad.  I colored the image with my Copics.  The punched border is an EK Success punch and I added two small glitter dots by CTMH.

The greeting is a rub-on by American Crafts.  I think this little shopper is just too cute!

Baby Girl Swing Card

It feels like forever since I have posted anything. I know it isn't but I can remedy that right now.I am on the design team for the Fairy's challenge blog so I am sharing this cute card with you all. The challenge is to use a baby and faux or real stitching. I have wanted to use this cut file for a bit now so here it is. The file is a swing card from the MTC gallery. It is so easy and fun. I cut one in SU  pretty in pink solid and one in unknown DSP. I cut the ends off the DSP and added it over the solid. It didn't quite work the way I wanted so I cut 1/4" off of all the ends. Our sponsor is Bugaboo. The baby is colored with copic markers. E21,00,000,31, BG10,13,N0,2, Y 13 R20,81,83. I traced a circle around the image and cut it out. The background is a stamp sets by SU. Hello baby is also SU teeny tiny wishes, Itty bitty backgrounds are the small little specks right behind the baby, SU best yet baby saying is on the inside. The saying says "a little something for a little someone". The last two are old sets but goodies. The cute dragon fly was punched from sticker paper and MS glitter was put over the sticky. I added 4 of the blue green buttons on each corner with little twine bows. Clean and simple but so cute. Thank you all so much for stopping by, happy creating!

Some Odd Girl's Challenge with a Giggling Fairy!

Hi all! is is Jeannie from NonnasScraps. I want to thank Sheila for allowing me to once again be a "guest" on her site. 

Since I am on summer vacation I am all about challenges and getting some crafting done. Now, the question is, are you up for a fun challenge? If you are, check out the "Some Odd Girl" blog. Kristy is quite the artist and she puts out a really clean sketch! July's challenge is to create a card with her fantastic sketch:

The guidelines were to make this card any way I wanted. I only had to use a "Some Odd Girl" stamp. (No problem, say I, I love her things!) So, here is my submission:

The stamp is "Giggle Fairy." It is digital. I printed it on Stamping Bella paper and cut it in MTC with my Zing. I then played with my Copics. (Oh, by the way, have I told you how amazing the Kristy and Melissa's Created from Color basic Copic class is?) There is a new class opening as I type! I also used my Copics for more than the the stamp....

I colored the ribbon...

I colored the cloth covered floral wire to make the flower tendrils...

And I matched the colors as closely as possible to create my own papers!
