The Tax Man Cometh... Soon

Howdy - Adrienne from Eagle Canyon Arts and tickled pink to be here.  Many thanks to Sheila for including me in the Sassy Lady design team.

January and February are supposed to be months for catching up and catching one's breath.  Well, THAT didn't happen around here.  The minute the new year begins, papers start flying in preparation for (gulp) taxes, which means number crunching and less time for playing in the craft room!

Here are the cards I made for Valentine's Day this year for my grandchildren, using the Spring Holiday Card Cartridge (from 2011, still available on some websites).  I cut them both at 4.3" high and also cut the white backs at 4.3" high.  These were very simple cards to make and I know the children will be delighted with them.

For the "grown ups", I made a different card using the Paper Lace cartridge.  I also embossed the card base with my Sizzix and various embossing folders.

Using a sponge dauber (Z726), I inked the edges with cranberry (Z116).  The inside greeting is simply "Happy Valentine's Day" from last year's CTMH January Stamp of the Month (retired).

Thanks for joining me on this project.  If you have any questions or comments, please share them with me.  Adrienne

Purr-cious

Hi
This is Pam from The Bugbytes today as  a designer on  She's a Sassylady. Thanks Sheila for having me on as your designer.
Sassy Studio Designs has a challenge every month on facebook  - https://www.facebook.com/groups/258002824294410/ and you get to play with one of their given images following a theme. This month the image was "Pin up Kitty" and the theme so perfect for Valentine - "Hearts and Sentiments".
So I made a card

Though I should say frankly this is an image I would not normally go for I did have fun coloring her though and coming up with a fun sassy sentiment to fit. I chalk up this card to experimentation.

The heart die is from spellbinder heartfelt creations and the heart border is from memory box called delightful heart border - 98767

Thank you all for letting me share my project with you all. Hope this inspires you to color up a image even if you have not colored before and also to try your hand at, to explore what you generally would not attempt normally.
Happy Valentine!
Pam

February Holiday Card Inspiration: Very Merry

Hi Everyone!  It's Sonya from Sonya's Paper Trail and I'm here today with a dose of inspiration for those who are creating their holiday greeting cards all year long.  The card I'm sharing today is rather simple, and would be a perfect design if you need to make a lot of cards and use up a lot of tiny scraps in the process!  Check it out:

I started by cutting that wonderful, simple snowflake from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I cut it at 2 inches and added a small red brad to the center.  The paper strips are scraps from Echo Park's 'Tis the Season 6 by 6 paper pad.  The stamped images are from Stampin' UP! and are from one of my favorite sets--Short and Sweet.

Isn't this a gorgeous snowflake?

Hope you have a creative day!

Hugs,
Sonya

You Melt My Heart

Hi everyone,

Thank you Shelia for having me join you this week. I'm Carol and my blog is called Happy Expressions  http://happyexpressions.blogspot.com

Well would you look at my little boo boo. Can you see it. Yes that is right I have put the frame on crooked. Can you believe it!  My eye sight must have been a bit off. LOL! No I wasn't drinking anything but water.

This little image is from Lacy Sunshine called Izzybella. I printed her off onto neenah cs and colored it with copic markers. E00,000,21,31,35,51, R20,81,83,85,, BG10,11,13, I die cut a frame with a spellbinder die  and added some buttons from my stash onto top left and bottom right corners. I put some twine bows on the tops of the ribbon. I added a small MS heart punch to the center of her hair bow.The sentiment is from Pink by Design stamp with SU pretty in pink ink. I will give this card to my youngest grand child and she will love it even with the flaws. She is only three so she won't even notice it is crooked.

I will enter this card into this challenge.

Lacy Sunshine - add a sentiment
Thank you all for stopping by, happy creating!

Truly Madly Deeply

Hello - Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway.  Today I have a Valentine's Day canvas to share with you.  I went out of my box and got a little messy!

I started with a canvas board from Michaels and painted two coats of gesso on it.  I used molding paste and a metal key template to add some keys.

Once dry, I sprayed Cherry Pie Dylusions Ink all over the canvas.  Then I grabbed Heidi Swapp Gold color shine and spritzed some more!  I have to admit this was fun!!
I sprayed two coats of the gold on the wood cut outs.  The picture here does not show off the shine!
You can see the keys here.
I cut "truly - madly - deeply" in vinyl on my cameo and added them to the canvas,

Every now and then it is good to try new things and get outside of your box!!  I am glad that I remembered to :)

Happy February Everyone!!!
