Quick and Quirky Cards!

The holiday season will be here before we know it!  I enjoy making Christmas cards in the late summer and early fall.  I listen to Christmas carols and begin planning, designing, and creating cards.  When time comes to deliver or mail holiday cards, I have the cards ready...and a variety of cards, too!

Hi, this is Carolyn from Carolyn's Creative Corner with a card that can be mass produced quick and easy!
The cards were created using a variety of supplies that I had in my stash.
Confession time...deciding on the design takes much longer than actually making cards!  I use magazines, internet, facebook, etc. to find ideas.  There is no shortage of ideas, but finding just the right design takes me a while!  Eventually the idea 'clicks' and a card comes alive!
The focal point of the cards are these gift tags from Joann's Craft Store.  I bought several packages at the end of last season.  They were 90% off and I had a 15% discount...
*Basic card-----5 inches x 7 inches-----kraft paper card with matching envelope
*Bottom layer-----4 1/2 inches x 6 1/2 inches-----textured cardstock**
*Middle layer-----3 6/8 inches x 5 3/4 inches-----Embossed cardstock**
*Small layer------2 1/4 inches x 3 1/4 inches-----textured cardstock (used to frame embellishments)
*Strip-----1 inch x 3 1/2 inches----textured cardstock (used to frame sentiment)
*Fiber, ribbon, lace-----25 inches----wrapped around card front, secured on back with tape

I cut all the layers, sentiments, and fibers at one time and create an assembly line.  Everything is glued to the bottom layer.  When all the layers are attached, the completed card front is glued to the basic card.

Tip...when using textured and embossed cardstock, liquid glue is the best adhesive.  Double sided tape does not adhere well to the uneven finish of the paper.  Glue gets into all the surfaces and holds everything together.
Inside card
*Bottom layer-----4 1/2 inches x 7 inches-----textured cardstock
*Top layer-----3 1/2 inches x 6 1/2 inches---cardstock, suitable for stamping/writing
*Assorted stickers/embellishments to coordinate with front of card
Envelope

Quick and Quriky....and a bonus...Easy, too!**

These are terrific. I love the way you left the ties that were on the tags when you attached them. Nice touch. TFS.
