Brother Scan N Cut: Orientation and Cutting Patterns-Session 1

Brother Scan N Cut CM 100
I received this electronic cutting machine for Christmas!
I have enjoyed learning to use the features!

Today begins a series of blog posts that I am creating to show how to use the machine!  This first session is learning how to turn on, load blade housing, loading mat, and using the pattern feature.  The machine comes with a large variety of images.

Happy New Year!
This is Carolyn from
These cards are my first projects!
Close up!
The machine cuts great!  There is very little paper waste, too!
I cut mulitple images to create multiple cards.
The images were attached with double-sided foam to give dimension.
For a photo tutorial for using the Scan N Cut, please visit my blog...

Bonus!!
I recently saw a YouTube video using baby bottle nipples as the topper for my liquid glue bottles.  My experience is at the end of the post above!

Thank you for visiting 'She's a Sassy Lady' blog!
Have a wonderful New Year and come back soon!

A Quick Card For A Friend Made From Scraps And My Wonderful Explore

Isn't this card adorable? I have a friend that is fighting breast cancer and is in her final two months of chemo and then starts radiation. I try to send her a card every 2 weeks and this is one of them. I used some Tim Holtz scrap paper for the background and inside of the card. And I used my Explore for the wording and the fish. I played with the colors to make sure I had pink lips on the fish and then adjusted the words to match the fish. I flattened both as I was in a hurry and I wanted those colors to match. The Explore is the perfect tool for any crafter!

This is the inside of the card. I used The Stamps Of Life, special edition breast cancer stamp and it worked perfect!

This is the close up of the card and as you can see it is adorable! Thank you for joining me today and for your sweet-sweet words of encouragement. Your comments continue to inspire me.
Have a blessed day.

Merry Christmas

The Birth of Jesus

Luke 2:1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2(This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3And everyone went to his own town to register.
4So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
The Shepherds and the Angels
8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." 13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." 16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Merry Christmas To All From She's A Sassy Lady

I had to share a photo of our tree. My grandchildren Justin-12 and Sydney-11 and Gavin - 5 decorated it for me! Didn't they do good? I added a couple of the glitterornaments and they did the rest! They love helping.

We wish you a Blessed Christmas

filled with love, laughter, friends and family.

May your table be heaped with delicious holiday foods

that thrill and excite your appetite.

May your tree be adorned with lights and ornaments,

Presents abounding beneath its limbs,

surrounded by those you love.

Be blessed this year by the virgin birth

of the babe who came to earth

so many long years ago...

Gift Card Bags

Hi Everyone,

Merry Christmas to you all. Wasn't it just Thanksgiving?  I have been so busy trying to get everything done, while working full-time but, I'm sure most of us are in the same boat, right?. I'm sorry I really don't have a blow by blow description of my project. I  am trying to think outside the box when it comes to wrapping certain things, so I thought making these little bags would be cute for gift cards. Of course I always give credit from where I get the ideas, and these cute bags are from Angie at Chic n' Scratch. The paper alone cracks me up, it's from Stampin' Up.

I punched a hole through the top and added curly ribbon. Hopefully, after the holidays, I will get to be more productive.

Sheila, thank you for having me and I'm sorry it wasn't  a fabulous post :)

See you soon.

Snow Angel

Hi everyone.  It's Karon here from Karon's Krafty Korner.

Stopping by to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.  Thanks Sheila, for letting me come visit.

Today,s creation is another book art sample.  The last time I posted, was my Christmas tree, using the same technique.  However, this time - you turn the book upside down for several of the pages - so that you get wings :-)  A great tutorial for this, can be found here at Five Go Blogging.

I decided to make a bottom for the angel using cork pot stands - so I first coated the cork in Gesso, just one coat would be enough, but I gave it two :-)

Then I gave it a coat of silver acrylic paint.  I am so pleased with how this turned out!

You can see the angel there in the background - looking a little headless LOL!

Anyways, after spraying her with some Perfect Pearls - Perfect Pearl is the colour I used, I also added a little more sparkle with some very fine glitter glue.

Her head is just a Christmas bauble, I kept the silver hanger attached to it, as I thought it made the perfect collar.

I couldn't resist adding some silver ribbon to her head and base.

Of course, as she is a Snow Angel I had to add some lovely silver snowflakes.

I finished off the base of the angel with some wired star garland, after all she is up in the stars and clouds there :-)

I was tempted to add a face to the bauble, but thought that may spoil it.  Less is more, as they say.

I apologise for the overload of photo's I was trying to share the sparkle :-)  Hope you are able to see it.

Maybe you could give it a go, with some old books that you may have.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.
