Trick or Treat

Hello my Sassy Lady friends! This is Kate from Sassy and Scrappy and I'm so happy to be here with you today. Apparently fall is upon us, so I figured I might as well embrace it and make a Halloween card. I started by printing a digital image from Tiddly Inks and colored it with my Copics. I actually printed and colored 4 so I was able to knock out several cards in a pretty short period of time. Coloring the image is the most time consuming part, especially since I'm still a beginner in the Copic world.

After I finished coloring I cute each image out using a Spellbinders die. I used a larger size die to cut some coordinating pattern paper to layer my image on.

In this picture you can see the spider webs I cut with my Cricut. The little pieces are pretty delicate so I'd recommend using your spatula when removing the image from your mat.

Next I inked up a large rubber stamp to create a background for my card. I find it easier to place my paper on top of the stamp as opposed to placing the stamp on the paper. I've found that I get a more even impression.

And here's what it looks like after stamping.

I couldn't get a good picture of it, but I did distress the edges of the black piece of cardstock. I adhered two spider webs to the corners of my first layer.

I trimmed a piece of vellum to fit just inside of the black layer. I didn't want to cover the distressed edges. I placed my adhesive just in the area behind my image so it wouldn't be visible. Vellum can be a little tricky to attach and I haven't found an adhesive that doesn't show through, so some creativity is required.
